I never like to give bad reviews but this was our second time at this restaurant and we know why we haven't been there in a while. I always like to support family owned businesses and always hope that the food is above average but today the food was average at best. We saw a plate come out to another customer that had eggs on it and expecting to see fried potatoes we saw french fries which possibly could've been asked for I don't know but normally you would get nice fried potatoes with your eggs but I'm not going to second-guess this one. I ordered a chorizo omelette with beans and it was just OK nothing to write home about but the beans were real watery. My wife ordered a Carne Asada Nachos and they were just average at best. The salsa wasn't very good especially the red salsa just really had no flavor. The best thing about our visit was the iced tea, it was at least very good. Very disappointed and probably will not visit again, usually when we've only been to a restaurant one time there's a reason.

I've eaten here a few times and it's good! Nothing special, better than fast food but not a fine dining restaurant or top chef cooking! Just stuff you can cook from home! Definitely come here if you have extra money and don't feel like cooking from home, but again the food is 3 out of a 5!

Eat local! Located in the town of Tolleson, sits this gem of a Mexican restaurant. Inside you will find a friendly and home vibe type of restaurant. There is nothing fancy about this gem however the food is on point! Twice I have ordered the red Chile burrito and twice I have been satisfied!!! The chips and salsa they give you (complimentary) are also good!!! I love this spot. Clean and friendly. I'll be back!

I'll take a pass. The staff at Irma's Mexican Food are warm, friendly, and extremely personable, which is why I feel terrible for calling out their Mexican food as bland, tasteless, and poorly executed. The food at Irma's isn't so much bad as it is bland, and the presentation is sloppy, even for a fast food establishment. On this visit we had the Beef Tacos and Barbacoa Sopas, all of which border on terrrible. The Barbacoa Sopas were drowned in a tastelesd red sauce with a very small amount of diced up pieces of meat, and topped off with a combination of cheese, grease, and more grease. The food could have been worse, unpleasant flavors would certainly be worse than no flavor at all. I wasn't expecting fine dining, nor was I expecting terrible Mexican dishes.

I'm always shocked to see low or negative reviews. My husband and I come here quite frequently and have never had a bad meal or bad service.

I love this place but it's hard to get a hold of them, I think they got new hours? I've been trying to order a green Chile burrito for days

Excellent food and fast to-go service. I had the Chile Relleno burrito as normal and it was delicious.

My brother ordered the chilaquiles with green sauce and carne asada. I had a bite, it was incredible. The interior decor was festive; they even had a huge piñata hanging from the ceiling. Our waitress was fast and nice, and there were at least two other staff members who offered us coffee (regularly) or cleared our appetizer plates, etc. I plan to return often to try more of the menu!

The Birria that I added onto the dish for $5 was not Birria it lacked any flavor and was just machaca. Definitely not worth adding onto your dish, as the portion was very small. The empanadas appetizer lacked filling and size, and was a very expensive very small bite. Definitely not worth the price for 5 tiny empanadas 2" by 1". The empanada dough was good though. The green sauce for the Chilaquiles was good and mild, the red sauce for the Chilaquiles was good and flavorful, not hot. I am very surprised and shocked by the score of this restaurant. The overall consensus with our table of everyone's dish was that the food was mediocre. I understand how difficult it is to operate a restaurant, that is why I never write bad reviews. But when the price of the plate and any additional price does not reflect the flavor, depth and value of a plate; it is very disappointing and you feel swindled. If you love good food, and I travel and have lots of different dishes throughout this country, I have a very difficult time recommending this restaurant. Very disappointing and extremely expensive mistake coming here.

Just like back home just like street tacos from Mexicali. No combo meals no burritos only tacos . And their aguas frescas Horchata & Jamaica super good not to sweet is just perfect and what's even better no other place does this is FREE refills. I was shy to ask for a 3rd refill but they were super friendly and they did it. What can I say about the tacos they were great asada had flavor and really good I had to get a second order cause that's how good they were. Had a quesadilla con carne asada, and that was delicious. I normally never get a quesadilla any other place cause I'm not a fan of quesadillas or how they make it but here I LOVE it. I had to get a second one as well cause it tasted just like how they make it in Mexicali. The tripas super crunchy and delicious as well my husband couldn't resist to get a second order as well. We have never been to a taco place that they make it crispy and that it actually has flavored. They even have a little cart that has guacamole, salsas (which are really good the darker one is spicy but delicious) onions, cabbage, cilantro, limes, radish for your tacos is self serving. So you put what you want in your tacos. Staff super friendly and ready to help you, the inside seating super clean and they even had seating outside just like back home. Music wasn't to loud just right but I did feel like I was in Mexicali for a moment. I don't get paid or anything I'm just a real person who will give you the honest truth about my experience. We will definitely go back but next time I will bring my mom and my Tia who are born and raised in Mexicali to get their honest opinion. I definitely recommend 100/100 so worth your money and time.

If you are looking for some really good street tacos please make this a priority, you will not be disappointed.
