Still the best taco in Napa. Same as before, only one decision to make - how many to order?

Tacos Chavez has some of the best tacos in Napa, in my opinion. Their tacos are always fresh, flavorful, and really good. I'm pretty picky when it comes to tacos, but these are the ones I always come back to. Their champurrado is also so good and definitely worth trying. Their lemonade is really good too, especially with the Tajín rim. It adds the perfect little kick and makes it even better. It's a casual taco truck, so there isn't really seating, but that's never been an issue for us since we usually take our food to go. Everything is made with care, and the people are always really nice and welcoming. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Napa! read more

The price. No wonder why it's pretty empty lately. The tacos are decent, at least mine were lacking flavor. They were like "out" of small champurrados. He could have pour the small portion in the slightly larger cup. In one word over priced. read more

We've been coming to this taco truck for over 20 years now. It's nostalgic for us and I love that my kids request this often. We typically go during the week and wait times are not long. We order a larger amount of tacos because it's a 30 minutes drive each way and bring some home for other family members. We order with everything, extra veggies, sauce on the side, and only meat and never have had any mistakes. Staff is super friendly and all three of our kids have received a free taco on their first visit. They offer a variety of drink and the champurrado is delicious. I love that we can eat in our cars or bring food home it's still fresh and warm. Truck is parked in liquor store parking so a lot of street parking available. Worth the drive. read more

This has to be one of my favorite taco trucks in the Napa area for its convenient area being in a gas station parking lot & affordable tacos! I highly recommend trying all their levels of hot sauce (if you dare) and if you're lucky, try their champurado! The staff is incredibly friendly and will have your orders piping hot fresh&ready. Finally made it to the area to try this place out. They're in a parking lot where a little convenience store is. Very friendly service. I love cabeza and it's the first choice for all my tacos. And I usually go to taco trucks. I possibly had high expectations but it just was ok. I may come back if I'm in the area and try again, but I was sad to say it didn't have much taste. My tortillas kept falling apart, and they didn't seem cooked enough. What makes them really stand out is their really hot sauce. read more

The go-to, the one and only, the best for tacos de cabeza! The meat is steamed and super soft. Served with little salt packets so you can season as you wish, cilantro, onion, a lemon wedge, and their famous red salsa! They are small tacos, with your choice of single or double tortilla. I do single tortilla to have space for more tacos, haha! The line may be long, certain nights, but it's definitely worth it. AMAZING TACOS! Soooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the same old Al Pastor & Carna Asada tacos every other Taco Truck sell AND different in the best way possible. Beware of the Extra Hot Triple X salsa (you have to ask for it) it's BRUTAL tasty but I had tears rolling down my face for two minutes! I used to come to this taco truck when I was you get with my dad and I hadn't came for YEARS, but today I returned and it was so great! They only have the steamed beef (cabeza), but that's the only meat choice you need. The meat is really tender and delicious! And the salsa? SPICY! This place is really good, great tacos and open until 9:30-latest taco truck in Napa I can find. However, they only serve beef tacos. That's it. So if you're craving a meaty burrito, cheesy quesadilla or some sopes, you have to go elsewhere. Also, since they are the only "late night" taco truck around here, the line in insane. Be prepared to wait a good 25min on a Saturday night for your beef tacos. I surrendered tonight because I was craving tacos, but definitely not a usual stop for me. Napa is a sad place to be for the... em... not filthy rich. And for that the non-filthy locals pay with some very limited options for dining out on a thin dime. Essentially we have Mexican, Chinese, and a few fast fleeting diners from the days of old. So when I say that this is the worst barbacoa I have ever had that does make me sad. It really is not as popular as in the south and south west of The United States so when I lived in the area I was excited to hear about this truck. Greasy is standard for the type of meat but so is a wonderful rich beef flavor. Some how they keep the grease and avoid the flavor. I have eaten here many times and each time salt and salsa are the only things that get me through a plate. More than one star because it is cheap. Sorry Naps. read more

There's no surprise the line continues to grow each time I visit this truck for the tasty cow head, steamed tacos they're known for. They're a 20 in my book from a 1-10. No doubt. I am always impressed with the clean appearance the truck always has, the spectacular customer service and I'm humbled every time how they go out their way to make sure the order is always right. I left feeling great today after my order of 19 tacos for my family. They're reasonably priced and the service is fast. Flavorless and greasy, a huge disappointment! My husband's family is from Baja, where weve been many times, plus we are taco truck addicts! We also make great, authenic tacos at home, taught by ny Mexican granmother in law.. Tacos Garcia, et al in Napa are so much better. Family taco truck, one type of taco. It's tongue, and you might as well say "yes" when you're asked "with everything?" It's $1.25 ea, and most ppl there are buying 20-40 for the fam. Hours are nightly and no Sundays. I used to live near here and walk down to Taco Chavez all the time. Wash down the spicy tongue with a nice Jamaica Jarrito or that bangin apple soda!
