[[HIGHLIGHT]]Quiet, calm ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly & they generally always have a flow of people coming here for lunch & dinner!

Tanya's Taqueria has been cooking up some good Mexican food for some time. How lucky are the Napa locals. I hadn't been in awhile but boy I'm glad I remembered this place. They have a great selection of full Mexican meals or your standard, taco and burrito offerings but by no means is the food standard. They make great food here and the prices are fair if not great for what you receive. I love a good pastor, it's a nice marinated meat in a red sauce. Yummy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have casual covered patio seating, but many take food to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The person that takes the order has a voice that amplifies, reminding me of a Mexican soccer or should I say Futbol announcer, very friendly and how he remembers large complicated orders is a fete of its own.

I came in craving something comforting and ended up ordering their red enchilada sauce burrito--and wow, this thing delivered. The burrito was generously stuffed, but what really made it stand out was the sauce. Burrito was fire.

Quick Stop at Tannya's Taqueria During one of our recent visits to Napa, we got hungry on our way back and didn't want to spend too much time in a restaurant. As we were discussing options, we came across Tannya's Taqueria. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It looked nice and inviting and seemed like a good place for a quick meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I pulled over and parked the car right next to the place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we walked over to the front porch, we noticed they had indoor seating, too! We chose to sit outside because we had our dog with us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner is a very pleasant man who always has a smile on his face. We chatted a bit and placed our order. I chose a couple of tacos, Carnitas (pork), and Shredded Beef. Both were delicious. We shared a Horchata to drink, and that was tasty, too. We had to hit the road before it got too late, but we will definitely stop by again next time we're in the area. We want to explore their menu further.

This was my first visit to this Mexican restaurant in napa downtown. I got to try beef tongue and beef tripe dishes which I normally do't get to try . The service was friendly and fast. The portion was good. The food tasted great. I would definitely go back !

Recommended by a friend in Napa. Not a great experience at all. Service was nice but didn't make up for the less than stellar food. Tortilla chips were old, stale, and so hard. Rice was still raw and crunchy. Portions were so small. Seriously? Chicken flautas were greasy. Eewww. Carne Asada tacos were dry and cold. Terrible corn tortilla shells. We asked for spicier salsa. But, we were given 2 salsa neither which was spicy. They were not busy at all but we had to wait for 30+ minutes for a easy-peasy order. Some patrons were waiting even longer. I just don't get it. Definitely not a 4.0 rating.

My last meal before departing Napa for points south and east, my friend brought us to Tannya's. Definitely one of the least expensive meals I've had in this part of California. Which is not to say that there was any tradeoff for deliciousness. It's a taqueria so I chose tacos. They also have burritos and platters and such. But my three taco plate with beef, chicken and al pastor. Delicious authentic tacos topped with onions and cilantro and some rather spicy pickled carrots. Oh so good. The carne asada is great in tacos or nachos. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Gem of a place with indoor and a few tables outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Order at the window and the food is brought to the table if dining in. Parking lot or street parking makes take out an option.

    Please on Yelp love them!

We parked between the theater and the restaurant, so it was only about a two-block walk for us and that was fine. When first walking in, it's a little dark inside, but that led to the ambience. It was also a little on the loud side, but not annoyingly so. It felt like a great place for a group of friends to come and get some food and drinks. I was excited to try the drinks--i started with La Guapa which I loved!! It wasn't too sweet, and not spicy either, despite the jalapeno. I followed it up with La Rosa.I typically love prickly pear margaritas, but this one was a little too sweet for me (but still good). The chips and salsa to start were great, nice and crispy. I had the green enchiladas for my entree and thoroughly enjoyed it. My mom just went with a chicken quesadilla and also enjoyed hers. For dessert, we had flan. Overall, it was a really nice dinner with good service!

Ended up being more dinner than lunch. I was walking all around downtown Napa looking at options and then looking them up on Yelp and just not really finding what I was looking for. After a while comfort food was on my mind and Los Agaves delivered. I always order chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. I feel you can usually tell how good the food will be if they have really good chips and fresh salsa. The chips were delicious, salted just right and super crunchy. They honestly tasted like the chips my mom and grandma would make. They were super fresh as if they were made that day or recently. The salsa was soooo good. Has a little bit of heat at the back of the mouth once you take a bite. The cilantro comes through and offers fresh herbiness. And there is a hint of Smokeiness to the salsa as well. It's well balanced and you can actually taste each ingredient. I also love the consistency little chunks of onion, tomato, pepper, and cilantro but still a little liquidy so you can dip. I also ordered the Los Agaves cocktail (tequila, lime, cucumber, agave, and ube. I didn't really notice the ube flavor but it added beautiful color. The cucumber comes through. The tequila is also present , no watered down drinks here. :) I couldn't decide between steak or chicken tacos and my waitress said how about both? Sold. The meal was excellent. The tacos are fully loaded with meat, they don't skimp. But the real show stopper is the steak taco. It was so tender and flavor full. I ordered it without the cheese and I'm glad I did because it's the star of the dish all on its own. The rice and beans were lovely too, flavor yet light. The whole meal was exactly what I needed to recharge. I think one of the best things is this meal is light yet fulfilling. You don't feel bloated, overly full, or heavy. It's not greasy. It's refreshing. Thank you so much for the perfect post race meal!

The tortillas were the perfect texture to serve as a carrier for the contents of the taco. We stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and it was BUSY. There is limited parking so definitely keep that in mind. The line moves pretty quickly and you place your order inside. They have a large patio in the back with plenty of seating. We ordered the chips and guac, enchiladas de mole, and enchiladas suizas. The chips and guac came out first. The chips are SO GOOD. They fry their homemade tortillas into a large chip. The tortillas are very flavorful and the guacamole is rich and creamy. I think they grate their jalapeño/serrano into the avocado which allows for the flavor to be spread out across the bite. My only complaint is regarding the guac: I wish it had lime! Or if it did have lime, it didn't have enough. The food took a while to come out but the wait was worth it. The portions are huge! The enchiladas suizas were scrumptious. The chicken is stewed which makes it very moist and full of flavor. The pickled veggies weren't my favorite but I'm not generally a pickled veggies fanatic. My partner enjoyed his enchiladas con mole (which I obviously stole a bite from). The mole was very rich and decadent. Overall, we had an excellent experience and look forward to a trip back!
