This place is a delicious surprise. A classic locals taqueria that is chill and delicious. We had a couple of taco salads one with chicken mole, the other al pastor. The staff was superb -- helpful and with great recs -- and our lunch was amazing. This is a new go-to for us!

They make great food here and the prices are fair if not great for what you receive. I love a good pastor, it's a nice marinated meat in a red sauce. Yummy. They have casual covered patio seating, but many take food to go. The person that takes the order has a voice that amplifies, reminding me of a Mexican soccer or should I say Futbol announcer, very friendly and how he remembers large complicated orders is a fete of its own.

Quick Stop at Tannya's Taqueria During one of our recent visits to Napa, we got hungry on our way back and didn't want to spend too much time in a restaurant. As we were discussing options, we came across Tannya's Taqueria. It looked nice and inviting and seemed like a good place for a quick meal. I pulled over and parked the car right next to the place. When we walked over to the front porch, we noticed they had indoor seating, too! We chose to sit outside because we had our dog with us. The owner is a very pleasant man who always has a smile on his face. We chatted a bit and placed our order. I chose a couple of tacos, Carnitas (pork), and Shredded Beef. Both were delicious. We shared a Horchata to drink, and that was tasty, too. We had to hit the road before it got too late, but we will definitely stop by again next time we're in the area. We want to explore their menu further.

Recommended by a friend in Napa. Not a great experience at all. Service was nice but didn't make up for the less than stellar food. Tortilla chips were old, stale, and so hard. Rice was still raw and crunchy. Portions were so small. Seriously? Chicken flautas were greasy. Eewww. Carne Asada tacos were dry and cold. Terrible corn tortilla shells. We asked for spicier salsa. But, we were given 2 salsa neither which was spicy. They were not busy at all but we had to wait for 30+ minutes for a easy-peasy order. Some patrons were waiting even longer. I just don't get it. Definitely not a 4.0 rating.

This was my first visit to this Mexican restaurant in napa downtown. I got to try beef tongue and beef tripe dishes which I normally do't get to try . The service was friendly and fast. The portion was good. The food tasted great. I would definitely go back !

My last meal before departing Napa for points south and east, my friend brought us to Tannya's. Definitely one of the least expensive meals I've had in this part of California. Which is not to say that there was any tradeoff for deliciousness. It's a taqueria so I chose tacos. They also have burritos and platters and such. But my three taco plate with beef, chicken and al pastor. Delicious authentic tacos topped with onions and cilantro and some rather spicy pickled carrots. Oh so good. Tanya's has been a long time favorite for traditional Mexican tacos that are very tasty, ample in size and reasonably priced. They are in fact one of the few lower cost options in Napa, so there can be a line but worth the wait . Seating is outdoors mostly and limited so To Go is best option. Service is good and quick but you are expected to have read the menu and know what you want as they have a lot of pick up orders rolling out. Plenty of parking and easy to get to on Jefferson Street. The hot sauces and toppings are all authentic and the tacos are filling! My favorite is the Asada steak tacos ! read more

Used to LOVE this place before all the ownership changes about 5 years ago. They used to have a cool chef from Bottega around 2021 who made an effort to get to know us. Now it's just very plain, drab, dried out meats. Visited 3/16/26 went all in with an open mind hoping to relive that culinary magic that used to thrive here. Got the carnitas burrito and carne asada / carnitas tacos. Sadly it was all a miss. Almost everywhere in Napa gives complimentary chips salsa, maybe $1 or 2 for refill or no charge at all . Tannyas charges $4 for stale rock hard cold corn chips and charge for extra salsa. No refills! I wouldn't even mind paying for chips and salsa if it was good, but it just wasn't at all. Not BAD but ive had better at home or from the grocery store. The burrito was fairly small. Super Average filled with subpar bland spanish rice & refried beans. Carnitas was dried out. We ordered a couple more tacos those were sadly really uneventful. Super dry. Old. Not much flavor. Hard shell was tough brittle. Almost cut up my mouth a few times on the chips. Hopefully tannyas can get it together. Bring back the good food. read more

Our group settled into our VRBO after a long day of travel and we were looking for a nearby place to grab some comfort food. I found Tannya's on Yelp and we walked over. The entry is a line to an order counter. You get a number and settle at a table. Long line at counter - good sign. We asked a mom with 2 kids and a big to-go order what was good. She replied "everything" and kept walking. That was promising but not helpful, since the wall menu had scores of options. Our group of 8 Texans with extensive Mexican food experience tried a full range of options: street tacos, tostadas, guacamole & chips, enchiladas, shrimp tacos, etc. Big thumbs up all around the table. My reputation as a finder of fun eateries was bolstered! We all agreed that the order-taker guy was the most enthusiastic salesman we've ever encountered at an order window. He upsold something for each of us, and we were glad he did. Gourmands may not think this place rates a 5, but we do. It was an unexpected gem. read more

I usually love this place but today I was really disappointed with how long we waited for our Togo order. They took our order, then proceeded to bring food for all of the customers that ordered after us at the tables. we waited almost 30 minutes for two tacos and a quesadilla. I live around the corner and I come here often but after today, I'm not sure if I will come again. read more

This is a great find! First of all, the service is fabulous and that is saying alot today. We ordered the taco salad and a few tacos. The steak, pulled pork and fish were all fresh and very tasty. The price is more than fair. Indoor and outdoor seating, clean. We will make this a "go to" for future taco needs, would also get it "to go." read more

Amazing fresh authentic food! This is a hidden gem where so many locals go. Wait staff is genuinely kind and friendly; we use to always try and go in the afternoons when Eddie (original owner and executive chef) was there. My favorites are their quesadillas (carne asada), burritos (carnitas or spicy mole), taco salad (house chicken), and tostada de ceviche. The chips are fried perfectly. Centrally located, right on Jefferson St. There is plenty of parking in the lot with a really cool Welcome to Napa mural on the wall of the building opposite of the taqueria. The place is on the smaller side with maybe a dozen or so tables. It has cute decor (medieval looking chandelier/light fixtures) and nice curtains draped along the outside. Try Tannya's, it will quickly become one of your favorites! read more

I grabbed a quick veggie taco and a sparkling water as a pre sauna soak snack and was super satisfied with the well balanced flavors and the practicality of the affordable taco that I ordered. The ingredients tasted really fresh, including the lettuce. I will come back to this spot for more dishes as it seems like they know what they're doing with ingredients. read more

I've been coming to Tannya's for years, specifically for their shrimp ceviche. It's delicious and fresh, for only $6! They are family-owned and have been serving the community around them for as long as I can remember. There's a decent number of tables to dine in even though the building is small. There is plenty of parking. read more

Two things we're going against finding a very good burrito in Napa number one I come from the mission district where if you know there are amazing burritos there number two. My husband loves burritos as soon as I checked into my bed-and-breakfast decided to take a walk and google the nearest Taqueria And this place was within walking distance when you arrive you can hear the guy at the register talking. He's very friendly and he attends to every guest accordingly I am in town for a music festival this weekend and I just wanted something to eat quick and they were quick with the food, cute little restaurant outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, but the burrito was amazing. Not quite the mission district burrito, but it was amazing. read more

It's the two butts. If it's tacos or burritos it's going to be burritos every time because they got two butts to enjoy! What has me more excited it that before I could settle in after ordering my take away I had to get back to the counter already! I didn't even get to send "I just ordered dinner" I just got the food and hopped in the car and surprised everyone I was back home already before they could set the table that's how fast Tannya's Taqueria was! And we enjoyed! My burrito, nachos, tacos for my wife and it went quick because it was good. So next time hangry is about to pounce, think Tannya's! read more

While I was gone, the manager came over ostensibly to "see if everything was OK" and proceeded to lecture my friend about the safety issue of broken glass. My friend, also a restaurant professional, noted how icy and frankly hostile the service had become after a pretty common accident. The manager got defensive. When she suggested a courtesy splash would be appropriate, he said "we'll see when she gets back." When I returned, nothing had changed. No one checked in. There was still wine on the metal rim of the display case, which pretty much undercuts the safety and sanitation concern they kept citing. We decided to leave. The manager comped my unfinished glass with great fanfare, as though he were doing us an enormous favor, then launched into another safety lecture. My friend still had most of her wine left, but we just wanted to go. Delicious food, amateur service. Not worth $225, and sadly won't be returning.

Man, it really breaks my heart to do this... I loved coming here. The food has been great on some days, but it's like overtime the food is not consistent. I order something and it's like they aren't doing it the same way. It's always different and weird. I never know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day. My wife and kids likes their burrito a certain way too, and they don't seem to get it correct most of the time for them. I've tried to call and talk to them, but I can't get through, then once I do, they don't want to fix it. I live farther away, and they told me bring the burrito back, and they will see what they can do. It's like come on, you remember my order right? The chef should know if he left something from the burrito right? You should just save my name down for next time or somthin. Maybe if they find a better customer service policy i'll start taking chances again with them because man... sometimes the food is good, but I can't keep losing money betting on it. read more

Man, I really did give them a few chances. The first time I went there one of the best chimichangas ever, the next time edible, next time decent, next time barely edible and time after that, like just pretty gross. Last time I ordered two cheese enchiladas which they say they don't make cheese only chicken cuz its made beforehand which probably means they're frozen. When asked if somebody orders a different kind of meat on the enchiladas what do they do? they put on top of the chicken enchiladas! What cook, Mexican trained or not, cant make cheese enchiladas?
