    Mushroom taco, pollo asao, chicharrones

Visited on a Saturday around 2:30pm with a friend, restaurant wasn't very busy a few guests seated on the patio but lots of tables and seats available. Walked up and quickly placed our order. Food: Chips and Salsa - large variety of salsas so decided to add an order of chips to try the variety, verde was my personal favorite here bright, refreshing tomotillo with a little bit of jalapeno kick, the other salsas were okay Al pastor taco - solid, meat had decent seasoning but was hoping for more char but a solid Al pastor fresh pineapple was a nice touch Mushroom taco - not good, had an almost sour flavor, appreciated the cheese crust but the tart note from the mushrooms really put us off for this one Carne asada taco - fine, lightly seasoned, beef portion felt generous, salsa doing the heavy lifting for flavor but a solid choice Chicharrones taco - a bit disappointed, chicharrones wasn't super hot or crispy, was hoping this would be fresher but felt like the meat had been sitting for a while Service was fine, fast casual order at the counter and pick up your order from the pass when ready, everything else is self serve. Overall pretty disappointed by Mother's Tacos. Tried a variety pack of tacos and most under delivered given the rave reviews was expecting more. I was hoping to try the suadero but they were out so maybe braised meats are the way to go if you do visit would suggest visiting earlier cause 2:30pm seems like they food wasn't the freshest.

Clockwise: Lengua, Cabeza, Tripa ($6 each) - Friday, Saturday, Sunday only!

IF you like your tacos hardcore, the way you like.... NVM. Let me rephrase, if you like offal, you must visit Mothers Tacos on the weekends. And, if you don't like offal....sorry, you're missing out. TBH, I thought Mothers serves gentrified tacos but their CDMX offal tacos are bomb and IMO, rivals the ones in The Mission, Excelsior, and San Jo (haven't explored the taco scene in E Oaktown). Offal tacos are $6 each and only served Friday - Sunday. Fast-casual service and mainly outdoor seating. F O O D Tacos are served on a single handmade corn tortilla that had the texture of al vapor from the piping hot proteins. They're topped with diced onions and cilantro. * Lengua: Beef Tongue My litmus test for any taqueria or taco truck, this was some of the best lengua I've had. Juicy, meltingly tender, and deeply beefy...cut in meaty slices, not cubes which made every bite even better. We contemplated returning the next day for more but were still full from brunch. * Cabeza: Beef Head Rich and savory with some fatty bits...melt in yo mouff like beef butter. Like the lengua, it's cut in larger pieces so you can enjoy the meat flavor and texture at its peak. * Tripa: Beef Intestines The tripa is cooked dorado style...freshly fried and crunchy, not greasy. Like addictive chips. * Al Pastor ($4.35) Ehhhh, the pastor was dry, gritty, and intensely smoky from the seasoning. The fresh pineapple could not mask it. Maybe we got the shaved edges from al trompo? * Chicharrón Bites ($18) A heaping pile of freshly fried pork belly, with a crackly, puffed pork skin. Good meat to fat ratio. And, most importantly...they're easy on your teeth...not tough and hard like how some chicharrón can be. YAY for the salsa bar! Except most of the salsas were no bueno. Maybe an off-batch but there were all one note: * Salsa verde: Very very cilantro forward in a medicinal kinda way. * Salsa arbol: Hella smoky. * Salsa morita: Intensely bitter. * Salsa macha: Mildly spicy. Bummed they didn't have their aguacate (avocado) or orange salsa at the bar. * Jalapeños en escabeche: Pickled jalapeño, cauliflower, carrot, and onion * Cebollas encurtidas: Pickled onions The pickled veggies was perfect in-between bites for a fresh, acidic crunch to balance the rich meats. S E R V I C E Fast-casual, FOH staff were all business and a bit cold. Self-serve water. Bus your own tables. We received our order in less than 10 minutes (weekday lunch). Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised about Mothers Tacos esp given the social media hype and it was a great break from the wine country restos that will make you go broque.

For dining there, you order inside at the counter, they give you a number and you find your own seat. They will bring out your food when it's ready. There are a few bar seats inside, but all the tables were outside. Service was awesome, staff were friendly and asked how we were doing mid meal. Ordered 3 tacos, Carne asada, Al Pastor & Suadero on normal tortillas, 1 asada on a cheese shell, and 1 Hongo (mushroom taco) I like Suadero and Hongo tacos the most. I will definitely get those again. For my taste buds, the Carne Asada & Al Pastor could use more salt or more flavor. The meats itself were soft and tender. The homemade tortillas were Bomb.com If you want to substitute for the cheese shell, it's extra $ but gives a unique twist for a taco shell. It was a bit on the greasier side for me. I prefer their home made tortillas. There were options for different salsas, Spicy & Acidic. They also had carrots Another reason this was not a 5/5 spot for me were the onions. They cut larger pieces of onions on the tacos. It was a little overpowering and some were too raw. I definitely recommend this spot to others, tacos are on the pricier side but they give you alot of meat and you can't beat the homemade tortillas.

I've seen this place featured on Social Media from a few people I follow, so I knew I had to match their energy and try this place out. I've been eating a lot of asian dishes + wine tastings in this time, that Mexican food has escaped me! NOT THIS TIME! I'm in California, and I will find good Mexican Tacos even if it kills me. The inside of this spot is no-frills. Go up to the counter, make your order, and if you're staying they will hand you a number to place at your table so that they can bring your food to you. Taco prices generally range from 4.50 to 5.45. The only exception? The fish taco --- that's gonna bite you at 7.75. If you want to upgrade any taco (except the fish) into a mulita (these are sandwiching meat and melted cheese between two warm tortillas, which are then grilled or pan-fried until the outside is crispy.), that'll bring each taco to $7.75 each. So if you're not careful and on a budget, you can easily splurge. The taste? Honestly, my "mexican food craving" was absolutely satiated at Mothers! So why the 4-stars? Well, I love cebollitas --- and I didn't get any!! I'm now looking at all the other photos of Yelpers, and they seem to all have that on their plates, except for mine. ALSO: as good as the fish tacos were, and they were generous (two pieces!), the oil at 6PM tasted a bit old. THANK GOD LIME EXISTS to cut through the fat. Most tables have all 4 salsas present; the jalapenos and pickled onions you will have to get for yourself. All-in-all, a great tasting taco, a clean establishment, and actually quite beautiful in presentation. This place does live up to the hype! If you're in Napa, check Mothers Taco out!

Mothers Tacos was sooooo good!!! I was in Napa visiting for the weekend and decided to check out this spot since it was really close to where were staying. The menu is pretty small, but mighty. I decided to try a fish taco and a mulita. They were both so good & filling. I had the mothers margarita and it easily goes into my top 5 of margaritas. It was so good!!! I could tell that it was freshly made. If I'm ever back in Napa I will have to go back to Mothers Tacos.

I saw several reviews for this place on social media and knew I had to try it. Once we arrived this was our first stop after picking up the rental car and boy...it didn't disappoint. We pulled up a little confused but we quickly located the spot and a few people walking up that we had a ball with. The gentleman and his mom had of laughing and he recommended a few things and one being the fish Taco. Once we were inside we took in the menu, drinks and atmosphere and the lady waiting on us was patient. We also met a nice older gentleman that struck up a conversation with us. He was extremely friendly and he let us know that everything on the menu was a winner. After ordering my taco, margarita and chips I later found out he was the owners son and he was in town visiting. He was a joy to speak with and his son was just as nice and friendly. The taco was a nice size and a 10/10. I would purchase it over and over again. My margarita was a 7/10. Overall, this business is legit and if your in the area you should check it out.

The flavors on the proteins were delicious. My favorite was the al pastor with the pineapple on top. So juicy and has a nice hint of sweetness. They were generous and filled me up! It also comes with a very large onion on top which I had trouble eating but had good flavor. The loaded fries were decent. I wish it had more sauce as the bottom can get pretty plain with no meat or sauce. I would definitely come back. They were quick to bring the food out as well.

Mothaaaaaaaaaaaaa of all the mothers! This was my first stop in Napa, and WOW, what a way to kick off my trip! Mothers Tacos is tucked at the end of a shopping strip. The store was clean, the staff was friendly, and all the locals we spoke to raved about the place and now I know why! I ordered tortilla chips, 2 carne asada tacos, and a frozen mango margarita. Hands down some of the best tacos I've ever had, and that Mango Margggggg... absolutelyyy unbeatable! ‍ If you're in Napa, this place is a must! Incredible food, refreshing drinks, and a vibe that screams local love!

Delicious tacos! Meat quality is great and the portions were huge. I got the suadero, pastor, and fish. Prices slightly high - but that's Napa for you. Service was very fast. My only complaint is the salsas could've been spicier.

2026 napa. taqueria. mulita - al pastor fresh pineapple, x-onion, cilantro (make it spicy-add macha grilled tortilla +0.25) mulita - suadero braised rose meat (beef), x-onion, cilantro substitute tortilla for crispy cheese shell mulita - chicharrón crispy pork belly, x-pico de gallo, fresh avocado substitute tortilla for crispy cheese shell overall, still probably the best bay area tacos. "as good as it gets."

I stopped by Mothers Tacos around 6pm on a Friday, and it was pretty busy - though we were still able to grab a table under the outdoor tent by the heater. I've heard great things about Mothers Tacos and was excited to finally give it a try! Having lived in San Diego I was very hopeful to find some great tacos in the area, and the vibe inside was definitely that of a classic taqueria - small but cozy, with an assortment of outdoor seating. I got a taco de lengua (only available Fri-Sun), al pastor, and asada. The lengua was excellent - tender and tasty though the tortillas did struggle to hold together a little due to all the juices. I'm typically a fan of al pastor more than asada, but the asada here is great - not too dry or tough as asada can be at some places, and flavorful. The al pastor was also good, with great texture, but not as flavorful as I expected. I love that the tacos come with a good amount of onion and cilantro, and the servings are very generous - 3 tacos was definitely enough for a good sized meal. They also offer 4 different salsas, pickled onion, and pickled veggies at a self serve bar inside! I also tried the pescado, suadero and chicarron tacos my friend got - these were also great and the fish was perfectly crisp without being heavy. Overall, Mothers Tacos is a great place for tacos, and worth a visit! I'll definitely be back for the lengua, suadero, pescado and asada tacos, and perhaps to try the Dirty Fries when I'm really craving a good plate of carne asada fires.

This place is amazing. The first time I went here, what this place had to offer was spectacular. My favorites are the chicharron mulitas and the dirty fries. Mulitas are like a sandwich made with two quesadillas and meat filling with cheese and onions too. The dirty fries are waffle fries style with special sauce, pickled onions, cheese, and you can sub pastor meat for mushrooms. Food here is lit. The service is always excellent and the workers know what they have to do to satisfy us. The ambiance is amazing, you can sit outside too. The place is always with tourists or folks visiting Napa for a day. I am coming back here for sure. Food here is lit!

Stopped by for a super quick bite and was not disappointed! Both chicken and lengua were tender and delicious. I also love the branding and overall interiors of the restaurant. There's outdoor seating but it's covered and heated, perfect for the wintertime.
