Delicious tacos abound and await you! We've been here a couple times now and have tried their tacos only so far. What they say about the house tacos chukis is true - tasty bites all around! With the addition of chopped cilantro and onions, the entire bite is complete. :) We've also got their carne asada and pollo tacos and enjoyed them. Their baby burritos, quesadillas, tortas, and mulitas look great so will definitely try those next time. Prices are extremely affordable at $2.35-$2.75 for tacos and tortas at $8.25. This location is easy to get to and fairly easy to find parking. With the pandemic, they are take out only, and love that they take the guidelines seriously. Love the fun, vibrant and colorful interior design space, so I imagine pre-pandemic this was a fun hang out. Tacos Chukis' new home in the ever so changing Central District has been a great surprise! I had no idea that there was more then one location. Turns out there are now 4. I've been to the one on Broadway when I first moved down. My SO had claimed that they were the best tacos since he moved from LA to Seattle. I don't remember my first experience at the Broadway location, but eating at the new location in CD has brought back my love for cheap and delicious flavours. The menu is kept simple like the other locations. Why mess with a good thing? Tacos with your choice of chicken, beef, pork, grill prickly pear cactus or vegetarian all kept under $3. Including their house taco with pork and pineapple. A side from the tacos, I had also ordered a beef Mulatas (a cheesy taco sandwich) and the Nopal Asado. The Nopal Asado is a basically everything in a taco but instead of the tortillas shells they have the grilled cactus leaf and your choice of meat piled on top. Is it the best tacos I've had? Convenient location within walking distance from Central District. This place is cleaner and more modern than the Caphill one. There are more seatings and orders come out faster; however, the food doesn't taste as good imo. They don't serve rice here so no arroz in yo burrito. This spot is definitely more calm and you probably won't have to wait in line for a long time, which is always nice! I love the adobada tacos which comes with pineapple. I recommend paying an extra $0.15 for the grilled pineapple so that it evens out the chicken (it can be a bit dry). I would come here because it's cheap, relatively fast (expect to wait about 10 minutes for your food - so recommend ordering online first), and delicious! It's really hard to find good authentic Mexican food in Seattle. I grew up in Southern California where good Mexican food is just a stone's throw away. I have had this while I was still eating meat and more recently, as a vegetarian. For what you have in the area, this place is decent and will satiate your cravings. The mulita (photo) is like a quesadilla but replace the flour tortillas with corn. I chose the filling to be beans and they were whole, in other words not mashed or refried. So the mulita had nice texture overall. The nopal taco was as good as a nopal taco can get. It is pretty sour. If you've never had cactus before, it has a very slimy texture (think okra) and may require some getting used to. But it doesn't have a whole lot of flavor itself. I appreciate that this place has options for vegetarians. It's open seating. You get a number and they will bring you the food. It's quick service. When they get busy though, it may take time for them to clear tables so I had to sit at a big long table next to people... yes, next to random people! But they were cool tho. read more

First time being at this new location! Food here is consistent with the Capital Hill location but has much more seating and is easier for street parking. I prefer the quesadillas over the tacos because it's a bit more substantial, but I can't miss out on the pineapple so I add them to my order! So good with that addition! My friend on the other hand stuck with the classic house taco and chicken taco. Tacos Chuckis is always a solid choice for lunch, dinner, or a snack and it won't hurt your wallet. I've been to the tacos chukis in cap hill and I wanted to see if this new spot was just as good. At first glance, this new spot is very clean and it didnt have enough "grime" for it to be written off as an amazing authentic Mexican place, but the spot is still new. The crowd was diverse, but i did see a fair bit of hispanic people, so thats a great first sign! To top off the investigation, my buddy asked some kitchen workers: "Do you know where the bathroom is?" a few times and they did not understand. Even better sign the food was going to be great. The bathrooms were super clean and they had little packs of condoms & lube for grabs with a little donation box - a nice little touch i'd add. The food came out at a decent speed and it was just as good, if not slightly better than the cap hill location. Not the BEST ive ever had, but its definitely above average, and satisfying! For the convenience of it being in the central district, and not having to pay for parking, i'd highly recommend coming to this location! Its bigger, cleaner, and better! read more

YES YES YES! Before I had to trek to the depths of Broadway to get Tacos Chukis... which was a pain in the butt though always worth it. Now... man oh man, I feel spoiled! It's like Christmas... though permanent (!!) . Parking is significantly easier, yet the same amazing tacos -- and quesadilla -- in the Seattle area. The new spot is bright and spacious and you don't have to use a weird public bathroom. The food... I almost feel my words won't possibly illustrate the quality and next level taste that Tacos Chukis has been able to pack into their menu. But I'll mention highlights: 1. Try the Taco Chuki... at least one. It comes with pineapple and adobada... don't change a thing. It's an unexpected flavor punch! 2. The quesadilla -- how could you go wrong, or more importantly how can you exceed at a quesadilla? I thought the same thing. But damn. On the other hand, they aren't spectacular either ... the space is new, crowded, and already showing signs of wear & tear, but the food is edible and cheap. Looks like they are still in soft opening (no sign, no beer, but both are coming soon). It took a while to get the food and there were only a couple other tables, but I assume they'll get up to speed. Food and menu looked the same as the other locations, tasted just as good. I agree with the general yelp-consensus, this location, for whatever reason does not slap as hard as Cap Hill. That being said, it is a great place to grab Tacos if you're in the CD or at Chuck's up the street. As always, the house taco is their signature move. This location is much more spacious, has more seating and is much cleaner than the Cap Hill spot. There's never a long wait and staff are really nice. They are doing something different on the grill for their tortillas. They're coming out a little browned and textured on the outside but chewy on the inside and that's just how I like em. This was the absolute worst tacos I have ever had! The service sucked, I ordered online and this location only takes online orders. So I came in and their were two ladies I sat near the pick up window and they literally just ignored me, but would peek at me and look away when I noticed. 3/4/2019 Yelp Review Tacos Chukis Seattle WA, 98122 2203 E Union St. (206) 971-1250 This past spring break I visited Seattle, Washington for the first time. While I was there I made a promise to myself to not eat anywhere that I could eat at locally in Tempe, AZ. I jumped on Yelp and looked up some of the best places to eat for cheap (I am a broke college student, price was a big factor). The top place that populated was Tacos Chukis and as a fan of Mexican food I decided to make the mile and a half hike in the rain to see if they lived up to the hype. The location I went to was on Union Street, a hip little area on the border of downtown Seattle. The interior of the restaurant itself was very clean and it felt fresh. The walls were outfitted in black tile around the kitchen and decorated with vibrant murals throughout the rest of the restaurant. The counter area is made of a nice coated light wood. To tie everything together there were green accent chairs and very bright lights giving the restaurant a lively vibe. Their workers were all chatting with each other and cutting up food on the counter. The rest of the restaurant was filled with customers, some who were conversing with the employees and obviously regulars. Walking up to the register I felt excited about the food I was about to eat. Furthermore, after letting the workers know it was my first time they were very welcoming and explained the menu well. As far as the menu went, it was well laid out and easy to read. The items were varied and all priced reasonable. There were no menu items over ten dollars. I ordered two of their house tacos, the tacos chukis and a carne asada quesadilla. My total was ten dollars and some change. The tacos had the usual garnish of onions, fresh cut salsa and cilantro. You could also add cheese for a small fee but being broke I chose to forego the topping. Additionally, it was topped with guacamole and one slice of caramelized pineapple. Personally, I'm not a fan of pineapple on pizza and the idea of fruit paired with meat didn't initially sound appetizing. However, after my first bite I was convinced. The tacos were arguably the best tacos I've had in my life. The meat was tender and juicy but not too rich. All the garnishes were fresh and had been cut in house that day and the guac was perfectly seasoned, not to spicy but still had a little kick to it. The pineapple surprising tied everything together very nicely. The quesadilla was delicious as well and had a really creamy white cheese blend. The carne asada was not as good as the pork on the house tacos but was still some of the better carne asada I have had. Overall the experience was very pleasant and everything I expected and more. The service was outstanding, they joked around with me, asked me how my meal was and said they hoped to see me back. The food was made in front of me and only took about four minutes to prepare. It was a plentiful amount of food for a very reasonable price and I left feeling filled and satisfied. I give Tacos Chukis a 5-star rating and highly recommend ordering their house tacos regardless of your opinion of pineapple on foods like tacos and pizza. read more

Been going go the Broadway location for years and liked it. Fast service and good food even when it's crowded. The new Union location needs to get it together though. First time going there we wait almost an hour for some tacos and then found out they gave our food to someone else. Their system for numbering and bringing out orders seemed very disorganized- were they even checking the numbers? We had ours on the table right by the counter and somehow our food went to somebody else. Waited a total of an hour and a half to eat and the food was dry and flavorless - chicken overcooked, etc compared to the other location. Living in SoCal for the last 7 years, I'm very skeptical about trying mexican food too far from the border, but I'm being more open to it lately! Solid tacos, loved the quesadilla, it's over stuffed and the best value, though everything is pretty well priced. I would not get again or recommend the burrito. I know it's advertised as mini and has the same ingredients as everything else, but it was hard to visualize before actually getting it. I added cheese for 50c so it was $4.50 total, but I should've just gotten another quesadilla. It was tiny but the ingredients didn't even fill out the tortilla. All their menu items have the same ingredients - meat, cilantro, onion, salsa, guac, you pretty much choose the form you want to eat them. I'd go with the quesadilla! Rocking Flavors in Small Package. Visited Tacos Chukis for an early lunch one day and was impressed by the overall experience. Though the restaurant gives this "higher end" feel, the flavors are true to its heritage. Wanting to try a variety of dishes I order a Baby Burrito with Carne Asada, an Adobada Taco, and a Nopal Pollo Asado. Frankly, upon first glance of my dishes, I was disappointed. The taco was no bigger than the palm of my hand, and the baby burrito was the same length of a granola bar :/ I was skeptical but as soon as I bite into each dish I realized that although they are small they're jammed packed with flavor. Everything was assembled with intent to deliver a true representation of the high-quality ingredients. By far the biggest show stopper was the Nopal Asado. The cactus was nicely charred from the grill and its tangy, acidic flavor matched perfectly with the Polo Asado. Though I don't like their portion sizes, you can't deny the flavors Tacos Cukis brings to the table. An easy 4 stars for me. I Highly recommend going checking them out, just maybe not with a Big appetite. read more

Have been here twice and have not been impressed with the quality of Mexican food nor the horchata. I come from Arizona where there is delicious Mexican eats everywhere. This is a mediocre example of Mexican food. I think the biggest disappointment is the fact that the baby burrito is $4! It's so small and in my opinion should be priced similarly to the tacos. Carne Asada was all right and the chicken was overdone. Flavor profile wasn't there. The lack of seasoning was apparent. The horchata was not impressive either. It tasted watered down and did not have a lot of the cinnamon taste I expect to go with it. The value of food you get to the price paid is not worth it in my opinion. I can make tacos like this at home and be significantly cheaper and have way more protein than theirs do. I understand that Seattle probably doesn't have the authenticity on point in comparison to Arizona but it is a bummer that this restaurant is deemed as "great." I am keeping it at 3 stars because of the effort put into the ambiance, types of food (tacos, burritos, drinks), and that it isn't horrible.
