I'm so glad this Tacos Chukis location opened! I went on a Tuesday evening, and luckily it wasn't too busy even though it had just opened a few days prior. There's minimal signage outside, so if you didn't explicitly know it was here - you'd definitely miss it. The menu is pretty similar to the Cap Hill location - except they aren't serving alcohol just yet. The interior has a wide, open seating area which is great if you have a lot of people! It doesn't have much character and looks pretty unfinished, however, which isn't that big of a deal because they just opened. I had two different vegetarian tacos from this place. They were very mushy and a runny, and also very bland. My girlfriend had chicken tacos and she said that the composition of the tacos was also too runny but the seasoning on the chicken was excellent. The tortillas seem fresh made. I just wish that my tacos hadn't turned to mush immediately and that they put some seasoning on their vegetarian tacos. I live right above this place so I was super excited when it opened. I have no complaints about lines or anything because I can just go down and check the line. Food is awesome and tastes the same and consistent with the other locations. I've said it before, they are not the best tacos ever, but these are the best tacos in Seattle. Hands down. Went on Friday night, it was really busy but everything was kept moving and we got a seat and food in reasonable time. The prickly pear cactus burrito was delicious, the prickly pear has a nice charred flavor. Their portions aren't large but everything is cheap. This place is solid. My friend took me here for the first time and I loved it. I loved it so much I came back 3 more times by myself. My Go to is the tacos and the quesadilla. I switch between the chicken and the steak. The steak is so tender and the chicken is so flavorful. The quesadilla is my favorite I always add pineapple, which I highly recommend. I know it sounds weird but my friend recommended it and after trying it I can't go back. The place is clean every time I walk in and there's hardly a wait time for my food. I got the steak burrito (burrito is a loose term as it's more like a large taco). But the flavor and meat was very good inside. I agree with a lot of other reviewers. The Capitol Hill location is far superior. I had fast, friendly service but the food didn't taste fresh. I had one mulita with adobada, two chicken tacos and a baby burrito with carne asada. The burrito was good and tasted fresh but the mulita and the tacos were pretty bad. The tortillas were very rubbery and hard to chew. The pork and the chicken fillings were pretty dry. I will not be back. read more

Where do I even begin! Tacos Chukis is a classic and a go to for the price they charge. Whenever I've gone (day or night) there is always a line at the Capitol Hill location so be prepared for a bit of a wait to order. This gives you an opportunity to strategize about what you'd like to order and divide your group to grab a table (yes unfortunately there are way more patrons than tables in Tacos Chikus). They have Coca Cola in a bottle, a few other types of soda, beer and other options but to be honest I'm already so focused on the food that the other options become a blur. They have a station for free water. I've ordered the baby burrito, tacos and quesadilla on various visits to this location and another location a friend lives by. My favorite has to be the taco or the baby burrito. Cheese, guacamole and pineapple are extra toppings to add and a bit more but each taco is around $2 I'm telling you!! They're so reasonably priced. Run don't walk if you haven't tried it out before. If you're a vegetarian they have wonderful options you won't be disappointed. Also a note on the location and parking. They're located on the second floor make sure to use google maps to find them it's not a street front store. Parking is tricky around this location so I'd advise parking out and walking into the Main Street to get to it. Enjoy!! read more

I loved the food when I tried it, but was super disappointed to find out that they use mayo in their guac; it never occurred to me to ask about mayo or dairy in the guac because who does that?! I'm vegan, so it was frustrating that it wasn't listed (and a potential liability for them for any people with dairy allergies) and that it wasn't mentioned the first time when I asked if the beans, nopales etc. were vegan. If they didn't use mayo/ dairy in the guac (why??) I would be back in a heartbeat, but it's hard to justify paying full price for just beans or nopales and a tortilla. read more

This place is awesome! The line to order wasn't terribly long last night, it goes by quickly and the food comes out fast. We ordered baby burritos, quesadillas and tacos. Very flavorful and loved the spices! They don't have chips and salsa or extra hot sauce out but it was nice regardless. We had some beers to go with dinner. Our total was a little over $50 with tip. I went to Taco Chukis today at the union branch. I ordered food for three people costing over $37 and they brought food that had hair in it. I complained and they brought switched the food for me and didn't apologize. I asked them for two sauces the green one and the red one costing each 0.25 cents each the lady said they charge I told her after that whole ordeal am not paying it and the should give it to me. One of the servers said ok and forgot about us. After 5 minutes I wave to her and basically saying what's going on. I go to the manager and tell him what happened and he says yeah sorry we charge 0.25 cents and is not even apologetic at all. I am not coming back again. Worst customer service. Your food preparers should wear hair nets. read more

I was super excited when I saw this location existed. It is on my way home from work and I LOVE tacos chukis! Was excited to be able to grab it on my way home from work whenever I was in the mood. However... first attempt at stopping was a dud. Their hours on iMaps said they closed at 9pm, but when I rolled up at 8:30, the lights were off and the stools were all up on the tables. Wasn't sure why - it was not a holiday. Tried again on Friday, and around 8:30 they were thankfully open. The place was definitely busy, and there were 6 people in front of me, with no one working the counter. 20 minutes later, there were still 6 people in front of me and a girl finally showed up at the register. It was suprisingly a bit faster to get my food than I was expecting after such a long wait for service, but I was seriously less excited by the time I walked out the door. I'm sure I will try this place again at some point, but my excitement for tacos chukis has been taken down a notch. read more

They are hiring cashiers and cooks, perhaps because they are growing quite fast (tell any friends looking for jobs)! The restaurant is clean and well-lit.
