There's something about being from LA that makes folks want to take you to their favorite taco shop if you're visiting from outside of LA. It's almost like folks need or want the validation lol. I hope my buddy who brought me here and lives up the street from this spot doesn't see this review! Well this spot has really good tacos and quesadillas. I tried chicken (pollo) and beef (asada) and I really enjoyed both. I'd say they're authentic enough and three should be good to fill you up. Quesadilla and a taco did the trick for me. One thing I didn't like about this spot was I asked for a side of salsa, may've been extra salsa.... Well they charged me 25 cents for it. I just kind of felt nickel and dined... or in this case two dimes and a nickel... or three nickels and a dime... ok I'm done. After hearing good things about this place we decided to try this place out and see what's so unique about their tacos. Their menu is quite limited compared to other places. They main have tacos, tortas, mulitas burritos and quesadillas, that's pretty much it. We decided to get the house tacos that only came with the meat choice of adobada (spicy pork, not really spicy at all). It came out slathered with salsa pieces of pineapple. The melted cheese really made the taco even more filling. Along with that we got a quesadilla with adobada which to our disappointment was just a larger folded form of the house tacos with all the same ingredients. Unlike most taco places there aren't any hot sauce or salsa bar. If you want extra salsa that would be at an extra cost. Their salsa isn't spicy at all so if you like it spicy, you're out of luck. The place is tucked away in the corner of the building kind of out of sight from the main road and parking is all on the street which wasn't much. If you want to try unique adobada tacos I would give this place a shot. Everything else you can find at other taco places and probably cheaper. read more

I'm so excited about this new location of Tacos Chukis! It's in a new apartment complex area in Beacon Hill, and damn it's so good. The tacos chukis are the best thing on the menu, modeled after the al pastor taco style with pork and pineapple. The seasoning is perfect and 3 of them fill me right up. They are delicious and have a perfect blend of salty and sweetness. It's all for a reasonable price as well. It's fast casual and I LOVE this place. They have another location on Dexter in Westlake area near my home. But it's so great to have them in Beacon Hill near the Welcome Table conscious event venue/worship space. I met a friend here for a quick bite before we did a location scout prior to our event. There's only street parking nearby, but it's RIGHT by the main bus stop area so take the bus. read more

The pineapple sweetness added to the savoriness, but was a little large for the small taco wrapping. Tacos tasted great but the size of the taco for the price was a little pricey. Yes, the tacos here are amazing. Got myself 4 of the house specials and one carne asada burrito. I love the little grilled pineapple and "avocado salsa verde" they put on top each taco. There's a certain quality to it that you wouldn't find at say a Taquiera El Rinconsito. The baby burrito is good, but ultimately is overpriced for the portion size. There in lies why Chukis only gets 4 stars from me; it's absolutely delicious but costs double in terms of portion size at any other taco shop, and it's certainly not double the quality. read more

I've always heard about Taco Chukis being so delicious when Capitol Hill was the only location for it, but when I learned there's one close to my home, we needed to go. This spot is located conveniently by the Beacon Hill Light Rail Station. There's plenty of street parking option so location is great. The house tacos is a MUST. Who knew that juicy pineapple would go so well in tacos? I would have never thought I would enjoy it that much, but this place knows that pineapple hits the spot. Price range are pretty cheap for them, $2.50 each? I'll take it! I've also had their quesadilla, and it's so delicious. I've had quesadilla that are kind of boring and not as appetizing, but Taco Chukis put so much meat and cheese. I was surprised to see how flavorful and filling it was, and for $4? Color me impressed! Authentic fast food. Tacos Chukis is a great addition to the plaza by the Beacon Hill Lightrail. The house pork tacos from the spit, served with pineapple & guacamole are a perfect snack at a great price!! They also serve burritos and tortas, as well as a horchata machine. I also like their salsa and usually get an extra cup for .25. I have had a taco snack when getting ready to get on the light rail to head out on the town for dinner, lol! When I heard Tacos Chukis was opening up in Beacon Hill I couldn't have been more excited. I've been to the Capital Hill location and all I have to say is YUM! Their menu is a little bit more expensive than a taco truck but their flavor is there. It's really clean and spacious on the inside with a ton of natural light. My friend really likes the prickly pear taco, although I'm not a huge fan because of the slightly slimy texture. I personally am a fan of their quesadillas and their baby burritos are really cute too! I like to order a variety of the menu, with different items and different meats. Great addition to the neighborhood! This location is a lot easier to get to than any of the other ones in any of those hip, trendy, crowded neighborhoods that's hard to find parking. It's also very spacious that you'll be able to find a seat even when there's a rush. The meat here is perhaps one of the best meat I've had on tacos, although I do wish there was an option for spicy hot sauce. House taco is what they are known for, it includes a piece of grilled pineapple and melted cheese on top. The menu has maybe about 5 items on it, you can choose the protein on each item. If you live or have been to Seattle before, but never have visited Tacos Chukis, wyd?! You should stop reading this review and head over to one of their 4 locations in Seattle right now. I've only been to this location and the Broadway/Capitol Hill one and would say that I much prefer coming to this one because you don't have to circle around the block thirty times to find parking. Their menu is pretty simple with 3 meats and 2 veggie options that are presented in various forms (tacos, quesadillas, tortas, etc.) Their online ordering system makes life incredibly easy and will let you know when you should expect your food to be ready, which usually isn't more than 15-20 minutes. Today I ordered around dinner time and the food was ready in 4 MINUTES. I barely had time to put my credit card away before running frantically over. You can also request curbside pick-up in which case they'll email or text when the food is ready and someone will bring the food out after you call to let them know you've arrived. As far as the food goes, I can only speak for their tacos since that's all I've ever tried. Each one is $2.35 with the exception of their specialty taco chukkas which is $2.75. Very reasonably priced for the quality and size. Honestly, all of their meats are great, but my favorite would definitely have to be the adobada. Part of that probably has to do with the pineapple that comes with it (though you can add pineapple for an extra 15c to any taco). With a squeeze of lime on one of these beauties, I don't know how they could get any better. The taco chuki which is basically the taco adobada with melted cheese is also fantastic if you're feeling a bit more fancy. Meat is juicy, cilantro and onions add a nice freshness/crunch, and salsa and guac give an added richness. They use two tortillas to wrap the just about perfect amount of filling. I'd recommend ordering at least 3-4 per person and you'll definitely want that many anyways because they're just that dang good. read more

Ok, let's start with in a Mexican from Southern California working in the PNW as a travel nurse. I've been looking for a good taco place with no success. I ended googling "best tacos in Seattle" and the first two options were higher end steak houses. Not really what i was looking for. Checked out this place and a girl friend and i decided to go. First of all service was super nice and friendly. Service was fast. Secondly the tacos were AMAZING! It reminded me of back yard parties with the local taco man you had to book months in advances. The flavoring was excellent, salsa spicy but not hot and everything tasted fresh! We ended up taking a bunch to our unit at work. My only dinger was that there wasn't much of a side option. I really wanted to like this place and I get it, everyone's taste is different. The standard at this time is Tacos San Pedro in Hawaiian Gardens, California but here, it's Taco Street in Othello. The service here is ok, I asked for no onions on everything and I got onions everywhere. I ordered a carne asada taco, a chicken taco, a baby carne asada burrito and a chicken baby burrito. The salsa was super salty. The tacos had no grease, they were to dry. You need that grease, that's what makes the taco. I honestly expected rice and beans with my burrito but no dice. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. Prices are pretty low compared to Taco street. You'll pay about $3 for a taco compared to $4 and taco street. I'm sorry but I won't be back. They need to add a salsa bar and you guys need rice and beans and you need to have, "Ranchera meat, not diesmillo. Diesmillo is not carne asada. When you go to Puerto Vallarta or Azteca, you don't get diesmillo, you get Ranchera. That's what makes Mexican food. If you guys change these things, you'll get 5 stars everytime. read more
