I asked they hold the onions/pico de gallo but when I got them...they forgot. He offered to re-make them and I said, no that's OK, I'll just pick the onions off. He said there was a miscommunication between him & the cook, so...it happens. He added a ground beef taco for free, so I was good with that. These are 'street tacos' which all that really means is they are on the small side. You have a choice of corn, flour or hard corn tortillas/shells. They will add taco sauce if you wish. The quality is very good, they are fresh and flavorful. Their prices are reasonable as well, $2.75 to $3.75 each. They also have cold beverages on ice, soda and water. The guy at the register told me that business has been good post COVID. They are committed to the location by the Fairway ABC store at the corner of Route 160 (Tom Hall) and Route 460 (Fort Mill Parkway). They plan to add an awning and picnic tables and begin to serve breakfast in the near future. They will also continue to be at the Walter Elisha Park for the summer concert series. They are located at 5524 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28217. This is the same location where Angela's used to be. When I ate there tonight, I asked how long the restaurant has been open, and the waitress told me that this is their second week. It was just past 10 PM, and they are open until 11:30 on Saturday night. When I first walked in, a couple of people were getting to-go orders, and there was only one table being used. I did not count, but I would say that they have around 16 tables, each with four seats. Within minutes, though, the place started filling up, and while I was eating, the dining area became pretty full. Having watched several Instagrams which raved about the Al Pastor, I wanted to check out this place. When I lived in Denver, CO, after work, at 3 AM, I would stop on the weekend at this great 24-hour Mexican restaurant known for its Al Pastor. I do not eat beef, so it is carnitas and Al Pastor for me. There was a very nice lady serving tables. She took the time to really explain the menu in a very appetizing way. Their tortas sound interesting in that they make their own bread for the tortas! If you want to skip the tortillas, they offer a Protein Bowl. Your favorite protein inside of a cheese shell is how they describe their Quesataco. The Piña Colada is made there with fresh pineapple. Three different salsas are brought to your table: a green avocado salsa that is mildly hot, a red salsa, and an habanero salsa that is SMOKING! It is called "Compa 911". (I go heavy on the green and dot it with the Compa 911.) Tonight I ordered one Al Pastor taco, one Al Pastor Quesataco, and their Piña Colada. When the two plates came, I was impressed; they each filled their plate! I have had some large tacos before, but these are monsters! I saw no way of picking one up and trying to eat it without at least half of it falling out. The way the Quesataco is made, the cheese and meat meld together as one large, tasty hunk. The tacos are served on one, not two corn tortillas. This was cool with me, because for maybe 20 years now, I have been eating my tacos on a plate with a fork, and I leave the tortilla on the plate when I am done. So, I asked for a fork. You get a plastic set of utensils, and the knife came in handy for the Quesataco. The Al Pastor is AMAZING!!! The flavor is perfect. It is probably the tastiest I have ever had! And for $3.50, it is quite the bargain. Quesataco's combination of the cheese blending into the pastor with the onions, cilantro, and salsas all going into a bite is a flavor explosion. And it, too, is a helluva bargain as well at $4.50 each. And get this! You can get FOUR Al Pastor tacos for $10.00! The Piña Colada was spot on; you could taste and see that fresh pineapple was used. (It sure could use a little rum, lol.) I will certainly be back to this place again, but the problem is that it is 35 miles from where I live.
