Tacos Don Chicho is easy to spot with its led lights and music playing. They're parked on a vacant road/culdesac. I've been to this truck before for tacos before. Decided to try the birria burrito from a recommendation in the 559 Fresno Food group on Facebook. It did not disappoint! The birria is very flavorful and even more so when you dip it in the consome that comes with it. Good size burrito, I only ate half of it because I did get an asada taco as well. Service: 5/5 Thursday -- Sunday, from 6:30PM-10:00PM was (I think) the time frame they stated they would be open. The order taker was kind and even suggested the birria tacos when we asked for two tacos of every meat. Ambience/Area: 2.5/5 For our experience, at around 9:30PM when we were there to order, there were a ton of flies/bugs flying around at the window as people ordered their food. It's not a big deal for myself, however, if I were to be honest that is not a pretty sight for customers. Nevertheless, I want to not it's more important to review the food and service above the ambience or location. Overall a 4/5 (rounded up from 3.8) and a great experience in flavor. I was craving some late-night Mexican food, and I thought about getting some Arsenios super carne asada nachos. As I was driving around, I stumbled upon Tacos Don Chicho on a dirt road across the street from a neighborhood. So I decided to give them a chance since I've been to Arsenios a couple of times already, and they didn't really satisfy my Mexican cravings. So for almost spending $20.00, I can say I had much better elsewhere for the same price, bigger portions, and better quality. 2/5 Carne Asada Burrito The size of the burrito was a bit smaller than your other taco trucks and taqueria. The meat has a kind of off smell and taste; it did not smell and taste fresh. Their rice was well seasoned, but portions of the carne asada were a bit small. 3/5 Chicken Tacos The chicken tacos were just okay; nothing to tell your friends and family about. 5/5 Salsa Their salsa was the highlight; the red salsa had a hint of a smoky chipotle flavor, which was really good and stands out from other places I've been to. If the meat and ingredients tasted a lot fresher and a little bit more for what you're paying for, I can see them improving and being busier. I sent my husband out to get tacos at a new spot that we had discovered only to find that they weren't there for the night and my husband stumbled upon this one on the way and decided to give it a try. He said there was a line and they were pretty busy and only 3 guys working the truck but boy did those 3 workers worked fast. My husband got his food almost instantly I was surprised when he said he was on his way home. The food was still nice a warm. We ordered Tripas, asada and birria tacos. Everything was delicious! the tortilla weren't greasy nor hard like other places. This truck is definitely a hidden gem. They also didn't skimp out on the meat and it was flavorful. The birria tacos were loaded with meat and so heavy the consommé was yum! They provided plenty of condiments. Highly recommend! read more

I'm amazed at the lines at this little spot. They are doing something right. Pretty good price for ordering an asada burrito, 4 tripa tacos, 3 asada tacos, a veggie burrito and a veggie sope, $46.50. I asked for grilled jalapeños. I also asked for my veggie burrito if they had guac or avocado. She said okay. They were skimp on salsas for the amount of food ordered. Gave me more when I asked, that's cool. Salsas were okay. They are flavorful but not spicy. It didn't pack a punch unfortunately. My sope didn't taste good or fresh. There was a hair fried into the sope too. Bummer. The veg burrito was lacking and flat. A lot more tortilla than the burrito. Rice, beans, onions, cilantro and some cabbage. I think i saw some tomato pieces? No avocado or guac like I asked. Sis said the asada tacos were okay. Sis says she felt like they skimped on toppings and the meat. And those grilled jalapeños - it was a plate of grilled onions and 1 jalapeño that part of it was cut off. Customer service is good, they're nice. Perhaps it's inflation or an off night. This is one of our favorite taco trucks!!! We are now regulars. We would always drive by but never stopped till one day. Now we stop every week. Their food is delish. We usually order tripas, carnitas, carne asada and quesabirra tacos. They have THE best birria tacos!! Their burrito are bomb too. We have tried the jalapeno poppers which are amazing too. Honestly I feel like these are some of the best tacos in Fresno! I've tried really great spots but these are so good. It is on the side of the road on Clovis and Belmont in a dirt lot and they're easy to spot! the customer service is great, food is made quick and the taste is great. They are open 5-10 Thursday-Sunday. We made it around 940 and our food was quickly made and fresh. I had 2 quesa birria tacos and 1 adobada. The adobada was sweet and flavorful. The birria tacos are also sooo good. Not too much cheese, just enough and they hook you up with meat. Definitely worth the drive! Also very fairly priced. Found this hidden Gem, after another location we usually go to was closed for the day. I started by ordering asada tacos, if you can't cook asada tacos then you prob can't cook anything else. I use to really like this taco truck being so close to where I live but after this taco I got today I'm going to have a hard time eating anything from there again.
