1. Direct + Detailed Food is hit and miss, service was a problem I've been here 4 times in the past 7 days specifically for tripas, lengua, and cabeza. Not once were any available. At this point it feels like bait and switch -- why put it on the menu if you never have it? The low rating is mainly for the young lady at the register. She was rude, spent the whole time whispering to a guy who works there and laughing while looking at me. Felt disrespected as a customer. Found Beto's down the street instead. Decent food, decent prices, and they actually serve what's on their menu. Won't be back. 2. Short + Punchy No tripas, lengua, or cabeza. Ever. 4 visits in 7 days. Zero times did they have tripas, lengua, or cabeza. Starting to think the menu is false advertising. Register girl was rude too -- whispering + laughing at me with her coworker/BF the whole time. Beto's down the street has better food, better prices, and no attitude. Go there instead. 3. Balanced but Firm Frustrating experience Food here can be okay when they have it, but the inconsistency is a problem. I came 4 times in one week hoping for tripas, lengua, or cabeza and was told they were out every single time. If you don't carry menu items regularly, take them off the menu. Service also needs work. I have been to this location many times over the years. On my most recent visit I ordered a mulita with adobada and a Quesataco with asada. Their mulitas are always solid, adobada might be my favorite meat here. The Quesataco was good, I had never had one of these before, it is a taco with a cheese shell, it might be a little too much cheese, but I kind of wonder if that is possible. The menu no longer had tostados as far as I could tell. Ensanda shrimp has been a good choice in the past. This place used to be so good. The food and service were not good. First thing I noticed was the flies inside when they took my order. The adobada was not edible. It looked so bad but I did taste it and was incredibly dry and the taste was terrible (old). The asada and carnitas were just ok but greasy. Not one thing we ordered had salsa and they did not give any at all. Mexican food with no salsa? No smile and ride domes or handing me my food. Halfway home realized they did not give me my drink. The experience was quite disappointing overall, from all the tacos having only one price on the board but a number of them having higher prices when rung up, to the cold, fatty meat in the adobada taco and the missing habanero and pickled onions in the cochinita taco. Not impressed with the "new and improved" Chando's. Went around 4:00, no one ahead of me. It took forever for them to make my order of four tacos. They also screwed up the order, which I didn't notice until I got home. On top of that, the tacos weren't very good and were pretty expensive for the quality. While waiting forever for my small order, I was harassed by some guy loitering outside their food stand. It looked like he had been harassing the staff before I got there, and the staff seemed more than happy when he diverted his attention to me. The staff made no effort to stop him from bothering me, even after I moved several times to get away from him and gave them the "please help me" eye contact. Sooo I'm a die hard Chandos fan! I was so happy to hear they re-opened some of the locations. However I'm a bit disappointed in the taste of the food. It was ok but not the best like it used to be. Looked the same, fresh ingredients but for some reason it's lacking flavor. I'm pretty sad about that! The carnitas burrito and chicken mulita were disappointing but the carne aside taco was better even though a piece of the meat wasn't fully cooked and the Horchata is still my fav. After reading the reviews, my husband and I decided to give this place a try. We recently moved to the area and have been looking for good local restaurants to support. We arrived about 30 minutes after they opened, and unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot. One of the older ladies working there immediately looked us up and down with what felt like an annoyed expression, as if we were inconveniencing her by coming in. We had just gotten out of our car, and the lack of a friendly greeting made us feel very unwelcome. We decided to give the food a chance anyway. I ordered three tacos (two chorizo and one lengua). My husband ordered a quesataco, a lengua burrito, and we also shared an asada quesadilla. The food was disappointing. The chorizo tacos were dry, and the meat tasted old, like it had been reheated multiple times. The lengua was cut into very large chunks and was extremely wet because it appeared the meat hadn't been drained before serving. My husband's lengua burrito was very small and completely soaked from the excess liquid, causing the tortilla to become soggy and fall apart. Adding lettuce and sour cream only made it even wetter and messier to eat. Based on our experience, we're not sure if the positive reviews were from a time when the restaurant had better food and customer service, because they did not reflect what we experienced. We left feeling disappointed, and the reviews were honestly misleading for us. Hopefully our experience was an exception, but we won't be returning. read more

This is the OG Chando's location, it used to be one of my favorite spots. Their carne asada was top-tier. Since they've expanded to new locations, I feel the quality has dipped a bit. It's still good, just not quite as tender or flavorful as it used to be. Today, I had the carne asada burrito, and my wife got the carne asada tacos. I still enjoyed it, but I'm still a bit nostalgic for that OG taste. Service is good, they have friendly staff. Just a heads-up for those who haven't been there before, you order outside at the window. On hot days, if there's a line, it can be a bit rough. Luckily, there was no line when I went today. There is parking in the front and in the back. They also have a shaded patio in the back if you want to eat there. read more

Ordered a Cali burrito 14.13$ no add ons. This is the burrito I got. Almost like just half the burrito, super small. Size of a taco bell burrito. I told the workers the burrito is small for a 14$ burrito they said thats the large. The burrito was mediocre 6/10, sauce was salty, my lips were burning from the salt. I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it wasn't for me. None of the meats were great and I tried all I tried all of them. The tortilla kept sticking to parchment paper and's as soon as I tried to eat the taco it completely fell apart. At the end of the meal, I was completely sad because I had not enjoyed any of it. Bought an order of Chicken nachos for $16. Barely any cheese they put a small drizzle on top and it's mostly just dry chips. Nachos are served in a small half portion container I have never seen this at any Mexican restaurant before. Extremely mid quality. read more

LOVE THE FOOD!! I'm a HUGE Mexican foodie and this place always has great food. The asada tacos are my favorite and I've tried nearly all of them so definitely recommend these over the other options. I tried three of their tamales and I would suggest having the rajas con queso and the pork tamales but the chicken one was good as well. Also the portions and the prices are reasonable so definitely check it out and they have some daily specials. Asada Tacos: 11/10 Rajas con queso: 10/10 Pork tamales: 10/10 Chicken Tamales: 8/10 The service was great but the location is not the greatest. The dining option is an outdoor space that is covered and it's not in a great part of town. I'd suggest eating in your car or taking it to go. read more

It's been a while since I've been to this location and ordered from here, probably over two years and some change now but I recently just went here again for a quick lunch and ordered what I knew I liked which was their carne asada tacos. This time it just seemed different. It was good but definitely not as good I remembered it. I'm not sure if they use a different cut of meat and/or if they slightly tweaked their marinade but the meat was tough, bigger chunks, fatty, and , the flavor was very mild. I remember the meat use to have a nice Smokey char on it, and the flavor from the marinade really stood out and was slice perfectly thin. It was definitely lacking this time. They use to put guac on the tacos now it's like a green salsa which a little bit of avocado pieces. read more

Used to be the best carne asada tacos, now I would never go back. I ordered my usual carne asada tacos & they didn't even put salsa or give me any in my to go box. Just meat lemon & cilantro. The carne was dry, not flavorful or marinated as it used to be. No radishes or jalapeño provided. I also ordered a quesadilla with meat & it was so skimpy, not worth the 13.00 at all. Very thin. I called ahead of time because I was in a hurry to get home to see if I could order by phone. I got a recorded message that invited me to order by phone took all my information and said they will send me a code so I could pay ahead of time and then they would start making my food once I paid. By that most almost there, but I thought about I'll still be a little bit ahead, but the code never came so I drove there placed my order paid went and sat waiting for my order. The chairs are not in front of the window cause there's no space they never called me. They never came out to look for me. Some other guy showed up, went to the window and they gave him my food. After waiting for a good long time, I want to check to see what's going on. What's taking so long? They left and told me that they accidentally gave my food to somebody else. I expected the tripa to have that "chew" (like KBBQ intestines) to them but it was soft and the entire time I thought I was eating pulled pork. I saw this place on a youtube video that it is a "must see". The lady who works there seems less then thrilled to work here. No bathroom or place to sit. They did have a little overhang to stand under when it was raining. We got the birria tacos, not good, needs flavoring. We also got chicken tacos which were kind of dry. I came back to Chandos after they closed down, I ordered 2 fish tacos and they were like $5.50 each and I ask them did the price go up and he said no it's a bigger taco, when I got my food the tacos was loaded with cabbage and had hardly any dried up little pieces of fish in there.......highly disappointed and we won't be going back, 2 tacos for over $11 is too much for mediocre food read more
