I haven't been here in a while and I was craving some tacos. I ordered the Quesa-Nacho plate again. It comes with 3 quesatacos and a half order of nachos. It was definitely a 5/5 star combo! I thought this place was good, but not all the hype that I have been hearing! I felt like the items are all the same just a different "form" like quesabirria, birria taco, and birra torta. I also got the empanada and the burrito. I felt like the empanada and burrito were good because there were more "components" to the food items like sour cream, cilantro, rice etc. Im used to tortas having more sauce, crema, lettuce, beans, cheese etc. But this was just bread, meat and maybe onions? I was also surprised that NONE of the menu items come with consome. Compared to some other places I think the birria and consome lacked in flavor. The hot cheetos item was also not good and do not recommend. The cheetos get soggy from the birria and ours tasted stale - wish we didnt order. I will say the restaurant was very cute, and nicely decorated and spacious. The staff was really friendly and nice! And I loved the different drinks they had and the banana horchata was so good! La Mini Birria was actually so good. The birria was super flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and really juicy -- not dry at all. You can tell they know what they're doing with the meat. We got the quesabirria with the green salsa on the side, and it hit.. I also ordered a medium horchata with light ice. It was good overall, but it did taste a little extra milky. I liked it, but my boyfriend felt like it had a bit too much condensed milk. Still drinkable though, just on the sweeter/milkier side. This is a nice little spot to eat and hang out for a little bit. The food was pretty good. We tried the taquitos, quesabirrieria, birria ramen, birria tacos, and three drinks (pina, strawberry lemonade, and mango). We didnt like the mango, so we ended up leaving it behind. The pineapple wasnt sweet enough for me, but my husband liked it. I really liked the strawberry lemonade. The taquitos seemed a tiny bit overcooked. I was trying to cut through with a fork, but couldn't get through the tortilla. Tacos were good, you have to buy the consome separately. The quesabirria was packed with meat and cheese. We had to take it to go and ended up eating it as a late night snack. I cant really say how the ramen was, because it was for my son. I didnt see a lot of meat in the soup, but it looked good. We also tried the churro cheesecake and that was amazing. Super sweet, but perfect. Most of the workers were really quiet, nothing really stood out for us, but they were nice. I can see they're trying to do something different with the theme compared to other birria restaurants. Its a little more refreshing and relaxing, but just not sure if the design goes with a birria restaurant in this neighborhood. Overall, would I come back? I would. The servers were polite and welcoming. The cashier acted a bit thrown off when I decided to change my order from 2 tacos to a burrito instead. I didn't quite like her reacting as if it was a major convenience because I changed my mind within a minute of me originally saying tacos. But it's ok it wasn't that big a deal. Service was efficient and quick. The birria burrito itself is lacking flavor a bit but still pretty good, I'd like to come back and try the tacos and agua frescas. I had the birria bowl ($13), which came with tortillas--it was super filling and packed with flavor in every bite. My friend ordered the birria plate ($19), which came with tender meat, rice, beans, and a side of tortillas, plus limes, onions, and cilantro on the side. I figured I'd be back in the future, and could try something then. We decided to sit outside since it was a pretty nice day out, despite the cold. Outside was a bit less appealing. We found a table that didn't still need to be cleared. It was busy inside, which means they likely didn't have the time to clear, but it would have been nice because we didn't really get a choice of table. The food came out at different times, but it seems like they cook it as you order, but some of us ordered the same items, like the ramen, so seemed like it would have come out around the same time. La Mini Birrieria serves one of my favorite Mexican dishes, birria, and while I'm a big fan of the dish itself, I can't say this spot is worth going out of my way for. That said, it's still worth trying for your own experience and enjoyment. The food here feels borderline overpriced, but to be fair, prices are up everywhere lately. The birria was just OK -- not bad, but not especially memorable. What does help elevate the experience are the salsas and the homemade tortillas, which add a bit of that comforting, homemade touch, though still not quite enough to make it stand out. The red salsa was a highlight -- flavorful and well-balanced. The green salsa, on the other hand, was just average. Now, the homemade tortillas - Delicious. Easily one of the best parts of the meal. I also tried the strawberries and cream. The cream itself was good, but unfortunately, the strawberries were sour and really dragged down the dessert. A new produce vendor might be a good idea. The coconut and the granola topping made it better. The music playing in the background was a nice touch, but the single speaker setup doesn't do it justice. Investing in ceiling speakers could help create a more comfortable atmosphere for diners. If you love everything Birria then this is your spot! I highly recommend their nachos and quesadillas. I'm actually still dreaming about their nachos to be honest. Although, I do feel like I've had better quesabirria tacos. It just felt a little too greasy for me so the shell wasn't crunchy as I expected. The churro cheesecake was delicious and the strawberries on top were sweet, juicy and perfect. Lastly, the concha was airy and melted in your mouth. No need to dip in your drink to soften it. I was able to stop in and grab a burrito for lunch with coworkers. When I say that they were kind and patient during the quick call just like they were kind and patient in the resturaunt, I can't express that enough. The burrito was huge! I saved half for my girlfriend and I ate half. We both had a really hardy serving. The taste was great and the burrito wasnt even my first choice. The sauces complimented well and had a nice kick. All flavors were really good and I got a Jamica to wash it down. That Jamaica was not overly sweet or stale. I'm pleasantly surprised. I'll go back and try more things. I haven't been to this place since they took over Rico's until this past Sunday which was May 3rd 2026. When they were in the little small restaurant / grocery store. There consume was way better. It was filled with delicious juice of the meat and a lot of onions and cilantro. I go there with my family this past Sunday and the consume was $2.49. I got the birria burrito. The burrito was good . But the consume was just the broth. No more onions or cilantro was in it. I was highly disappointed. I think they lowered their standards since moving into Rico's pizzas bigger restaurant.
