Dipping tacos into birria
Tiffany H.

Tocos birria & soup is the bomb! So good n sooooo spicy! Dip yr tacos into the soup n amazing marriage of flavors. I had shrimp Tostadas before and it was ok. This time i tried The birria , is amazing. Prices are excellent, cheap n cheerful! service is fast n courteous. I forgot my wallet but they take Venmo! Yay! I love taco trucks, this one doesn't disappoint! Usually in the corner of 5th Ave n 13th st. By chase bank.

Three large tacos and burrito

Did a quick delivery order and was surprised at the portion. For a large size tacos, they can add a little more meat. The consume was delicious but sadly was cold. The burrito was stuffed and delicious. It was so stuffed that it fell apart. The Carnita and fish was the best. First time having roasted pork where there's fat and goodness all in the taco. The chorizo can skip next time as there wasn't much meat in there. Overall I would be back for the burritos

This is me at home adding beans from a can in my cupboard.

I have been going to this food truck for some time now. I don't know what happened, we ordered over the phone, my boyfriend specifically asked if the "El Pastor" burrito had pineapple. This was never a problem before. But the guy working this evening was a jerk!!!! Not to mention I ordered a vegetarian tostada and they didn't even put refried beans in it - this is what I got - I had to take a can of refried beans I had in my cupboard and add them myself. Extremely disappointed with the food and the service especially the service - so unfriendly. We live right down the street and will never go there again - extremely disappointing!!! My boyfriend does not speak Spanish but I do, I am Puerto Rican and I lived in Mexico...when I got there and explained - he didn't even look at me and could care less.

I've hesitated to write a review for this taco truck because I fear it'll gain even more popularity and if there's one thing a native NYer dislikes, it's when their food spots blow up and they are forced to wait on line. But...this truck deserves all the love. Besides, crowds already form around it and deservingly so. The food here is, quite possibly, the best "fast Mexican" in all of Brooklyn, maybe the city. Their tacos are flavorful and built with tortillas that are tender to the bite as they snugly hold all fillings and sauces. Yes, there are birria tacos. Yes, they are fantastic. No, they have not been blogged about. (This is a good thing. Go get some before Eater or Grub Street find out about this truck. You won't be disappointed.) The tacos are perfect and more affordable than most places, but what also makes "The Brother Truck" stand out are the variety of fillings and menu items beyond tacos. Besides the usual beef, pork, and chicken there are tacos made with tongue, pig ear, and campechanos (a combination of different meats). Certainly something for the adventurous eater. There are also burritos, tortas, huaraches, and something I recently tried called tlacoyos, which is a black bean stuffed masa pocket topped with salad veggies, meat, and cheese. Hit up The Brother Truck for your Mexican food cravings. The team behind the wheel is impeccable with the details and have really delivered something great to the neighborhood. Makes me wonder if they'll ever go the brick and mortar route. Hmmm.....

This taco truck is no frills. $2 tacos, $5 guac and chips I mean you really can't go wrong. If your a carnivore you will like it here lots of meat options only one vegetarian taco and it's not vegan so it does have cheese and sour cream. The staff is very quick and efficient in preparing your order and They do wear a mask which I really liked the precautions they take for safety. Great spot to grab some food and sit by the bar a few stores down.

Birra Soup in Small

We're winding down our week in Brooklyn. Today we stopped at the taco truck and ordered 4 Steak Tacos and 2 Chicken Tacos, 2 Large Horchata, and a small Birria soup. Everything was delicious, but we like steak better, so we will try another protein. Service is quick, food is good and we will be back!

Quick, cheap, and delicious. Friendly guys--needed to expense the meal and they played ball even though they don't normally do receipts.

It was still fairly busy inside, but it was mostly people grabbing to-go orders. After ordering I snagged a spot at the counter. There's extremely limited seating, so I wouldn't bank on eating at the restaurant when it's busy. Be prepared to take your food to go. I got the Nene's Deluxe, which comes with a taco, a mulita, and an empanada - all with Birria of course. It was all delicious. The mulita was at the bottom of the box and got completely soaked with Birria. It was extremely messy to eat. Get plenty of napkins. I also got a side of fries and nacho cheese, because it was a long week and I deserved it. They had a seasonal strawberry horchata as well. This was okay. I also think I might just not love horchata in general. This meal definitely hit the spot. The Birria and consommé were top notch. I would return in a heartbeat.

The empanada was not like the usual closed off empanada, it was like open like a taco but instead of a taco shell, it was like the empanada dough. I didn't try the mulita yet but it was huge. Filling between two tortillas and I saw some guac filling as well. The consome was good! Not too salty - and has general pieces of meat inside the soup. The tacos were good but I felt like it lacked a little depth. I added some of the mango(?) it was a sweetish salsa and that gave it a nice little kick.

I had thought I discovered a hidden gem when I tried their Lengua taco for the first time in park…read moreslope. Turns out they have several locations and are extremely popular. I felt dumbfounded! Nenes is something like the in n out of nyc. When my friend and I saw the storefront, the line was out the door. Many years ago back in LA, I had a mediocre cactus dish at a diner and never looked back. My friend went for a cactus mulita and I took a bite that turned into two more big ones. The cactus was crazy delicious with gobs of pull apart cheese, crispy browned edges, thick corn tortilla flavor, and spicy mango salsa, and pickled onion. When you come to nenes, you forget the line and wait. You transfigure into sheep and are happily a part of the herd. The only thing everyone is thinking are the minutes on the clock before annihilating the food.

However, I felt like the meat was a little dry and could have used a little more flavor, but overall it was solid. I do really like the sauce bar they have! The orange salsa was sweet and smoky and spicy, and the green salsa was very solid, and I liked the pickled radish as well. The service is very efficient, and the ambience inside feels very no-frills and authentic. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're looking for a good quick value meal.
