I would have given him a tip, but for what I paid for just 2 hours he should be getting paid well. (It would have been nice to know that we could have requested more time.) If not, the owners should consider giving him a raise. I believe there's a chain of taqueros that work for El Cacheton. Either way, the food was great and my guests enjoyed the food. They did run out of rice and one of the salsas which was a bummer, I had 138 guests and booked for 150, i didn't think they'd run out. Absolutely perfect service for a Celebration of Life ceremony. Everyone raved about the food and service. Couldn't ask for better. They showed up early, set up and began servicing in about 90 minutes. The guys were so engaging and my guests went back for seconds and thirds. I'd use them again in a heart beat. We recently (1/7/22) used Tacos El Cacheton to cater a post funeral reception at our home in West Riverside. Since we wouldn't be there for the set up, we gave them instructions on how to enter the property and where they could set up. They said they would arrive at 10:30 for an 11:30-1:30 serve time. When we arrived at 11:15 everything was set up, HOT and ready to serve. We catered for 40 guests, but with COVID we ended up with 25. The left overs were dished up in containers we provided and we ate them for the next couple of days. Everybody loved the tacos, there wasn't one complaint. I'm sorry for this review, but caterers were late one hour. They served around 1 hour and 20 min later. But carne asada was not even made yet. Only serving 2 meats. They were really disorganized. If that was not enough had a bad attitude and no smiles. They ruined the wedding guest experience. They were line up in line a long time for food. The tacos are so delicious! We had them cater for a party of 40 people and the chef did an excellent job. We also had soy meat because some people were vegan or vegetarian and the soy was so good as well. My wife and I decided to have them cater for our baby shower! The entire family loved the food, the aguas frescas, and the fact that they're offered beans and rice on the side. One thing I will admit is that I ordered for about 75 people, only about 60 guests showed up and there was only a little bit of meat left over. So overall I think the food portions were carefully thought out with the rice and beans to fill each person up a little more! Which is great because if it wasn't for that we would've ran out of meat a lot sooner! The salsa was great, limes were full of juice which is a huge pro because nothing is worse then sitting down, and squeezing air onto your tacos. If you ask me he was more worried about his reviews instead of why charging me 400$ for a hour and a half. as you see in the photo he used his mom as passing away as a deflection of his responsibilitys. So disappointed. When we spoke with the guy (I'm guessing it was the owner) he said it was 3 hour service, 1hr of prep and 2 of service, (5:30-8:30) not only did they arrive one hr late they also wanted to leave early. Thank God I had made food and fed my guest at 5. They were supposed to arrive at 5:30, so they can start serving at 6:30. They arrived at 6:40 and started serving at 7, and by 8:20 they wanted to leave claiming they were out of meat, I paid for 100 people, I had 50 and not everyone ate because some of them had already ate at 5 from the food I made, when my friend (the owner of the place) offered to pay for an extra hr they had plenty of food to continue serving for another hr, like what?!! They were told that the event was a wedding, not only did I needed them to arrive on time, but I also needed them to be well groomed for the occasion, they sent me what it looked like a 13 year old kid and two other ladies, it looked like they were coming from another event all tired and dirty and let's not talk about their taco cart because the thing looked very dirty, the service the ladies gave was really bad they had mad faces the entire time they were there. I had a mariachi and a Dj so obviously I needed the taquero to be at Its designated spot by 5:30 so that they were not passing right in front of the mariachi or they didn't have to move the Dj because they didn't have space to go through, that's why I put everyone on a schedule. To top it off, the kid they sent was claiming that they arrived at 6:40 because they couldn't find parking and that the prep time they did it at home, like wtf, that's not what we agreed on, and if you would've arrived at 5:30 you would have found your spot empty. I needed them at their spot by the time we agreed for the reason I already explained above. My recommendation to the owner is, if you're going to charge over $800 and you agree to be at an event at a specific time, arrive at the time agreed, specially at a wedding. Also, don't send random people, you were supposed to be there because you were recommended, not these people other people. I also don't even want to talk much about the tacos, but there's room to improve, these were not $800 worth. They literally just had a water down agua fresca (no ice) cilantro/diced onions and 2 salsas, rice and beans. Nothing too special, again, not worth over $800. Chris was easy to communicate with and set up was on time, even early and the guys were efficient and personable. We had potato, beef and chicken tacos and Quacamole which was extra. Beans and rice were included along with lemonade. We were disappointed in the potato tacos as they were not deep fried, they were mashed. Also, they did not have cheese or tomatoes for toppings. The beef, beans and rice were good. Chris immediately responded about my disappointment with the mashed potato tacos and offered me a free deep fried taco! We had To cancel our event due to personal reasons giving them 2 weeks to fill the spot on a holiday weekend and we're told we can't get out deposit back.
