The flavors were rich and well-seasoned, and you can tell the food is made fresh and well handmade tortillas enough said! Very hidden and small place, yet very packed. Great customer service. Prices are affordable, depending on what type of meat you get: regular or premium. I got four tacos: carnitas, asada, cabeza and pork belly. The pork belly was a specialty taco so it came with all the toppings and seasonings. There is a salsa/toppings bar as well. Not only do they have tacos, they also have a variety of other things: burritos, tortas, sope, fries, etc. They really pack your tacos with meat! I've been coming here for a while, and this place has never disappointed me.. until this visit. I called ahead and ordered three tortas. One of the main reasons I keep coming back is because the meat is usually tender and never chewy or gristly. Unfortunately, this time was completely different. The bread was hard and tasted stale, and the meat was very chewy and full of gristle. Overall, the quality just wasn't what I've come to expect. We ordered before the lunch rush, so I'm not sure what happened, but it was definitely disappointing. I'm hoping this was just an off day because I've had so many great experiences here. I'll give them another try and hope they're back to the quality I'm used to. read more

I left a five star review almost a year ago and don't get me wrong this place is still a family favorite for us. I just felt the need to post this because in the span of the last two months we've been three times and each time we were disappointed with the asada and chicken. The first time I got an asada torta and had to take out most of the meat, it was really tough and chewy. I thought to myself, maybe they are having an off day. But then these past two times we've had the same issue with the asada and now the chicken. This should be the top spot on your list when you search for the best tacos in Colton. I was blown away by how they make their fresh tortillas. You can tell this place is super popular because there's a huge line of customers. Even though there's a long line, the staff was super fast and got my order done quickly. And guess what? ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I come here at least once every two weeks to enjoy some good top tier Mexican burritos. I love their surf and turf burrito ! Their Callejon burrito is also really yummy! The asada has a smoky taste to it and it's delicious. Service is okay I usually only get greeted by one guy who's always there...idk if he's the manager but he always makes sure to greet me when walking in. Living in Redlands there's several dozen options around here and this one is easily the best in the area that I've been to, to the point I come here pretty much every week. The char on the meats, the salsa bar, the toasting of the tortillas on the burritos, the quality of the product.. they do it right here. Food was okay. I got a couple different options in tacos, to see which was good etc. The lengua was super dry and hard to chew. I let the cashier Vanessa know and asked if she can replace the taco with something different, she said "we don't do that here" and proceeded to argue that everything is made fresh daily and basically saying I was lying about the dry food. The adobada was ok, I've had better but everyone has their preferences. There was a slight sweet taste, very little but I could taste it and I just didn't prefer it. No lie the food is good. I have seen their potatoes advertised but not on the menu today . So I had the grilled shrimp tacos, they are delicious but the tortilla is too small, everything fell out. But they taste great. Hubby had a shrimp & carne asada burrito, he liked it but again kinda messy. Agra frescas were good too, very rich tasting. A packed restaurant is usually a solid sign. The space itself is tight with closely packed seating, but that did not bother me. They have a salsa bar with all the fixings, which I always appreciate because it lets you customize everything to your liking. The prices were fair, and I ordered a variety of tacos to really get the full experience: adobada, asada, shrimp, fish, and buche tacos. I also tried two vampiros, one carnitas and one asada, plus a quesabirria taco. The fish and shrimp tacos were disappointing. The oil tasted old, which made the tacos unpleasant. In hindsight, I probably should have ordered them grilled. The asada vampiro was better than the carnitas, but the shell still had that old oil taste. That was a recurring issue. The quesabirria was good, but nothing that stood out. The asada tacos were the best overall. The meat was solid and well cooked. The adobada lacked flavor, though it was not terrible. My wife and I tried Tacos El Callejón tonight and overall had a great experience. The handmade tortillas and salsas immediately stood out. They taste fresh, authentic, and clearly made with care. The habanero salsa in particular was incredible, packed with flavor, just the right amount of heat, and easily one of the best I have had anywhere. The food itself was really good, and the flavors were bold and satisfying. The only minor downside was that it was a bit over salted, which may have just been an off night since everything else hit perfectly. The ambiance and service were excellent, friendly, welcoming, and had that genuine local vibe that makes you want to come back. All in all, Tacos El Callejón is a solid spot with great energy, excellent tortillas and salsas, and a ton of potential to be a five star regular go to. We will definitely be back. read more

Been hearing about this place & seeing it on IG. It's very small and kind of tucked away. & it gets BUSY. The food was super good we had 4 tacos surf & Turf. Along with 2 tacos Jalisco, a crispy tripa taco & a quesabirria. & two mystery tacos of which we don't think we ordered but ended up on our plates so we ate them anyways. The tortillas, the meat, the beans, was top tier quality. We also got two delicious agua frescas. It was pricy(60-without tip$), but for the quality of the food, it was worth it. If it were a little cheaper I'd be going regularly as the food literally tastes like home(Mexico) but it's super crammed & kind of hard to find seating, I really hope they open other locations &/or relocate to a BIGGER building. Tacos only come with one tortilla but the portion of meat per taco is generous. The quality of meat was obvious with great seasoning. All the salsas were delicious with the most unique being the most spicy yellow salsa. Some of the best tacos we have tried in the area. Service: You order at the counter. The food here is absolutely amazing and delicious! We ordered tacos (pollo, asada, lengua, and tripa), two asada burritos and horchatas. I will most definitely be back for more. The red and green sauces were so good. They complimented the tacos so well. Sometimes it's hit or miss with an establishments sauces but this place was a hit! It was so clean and organized for the amount of people that were in there. The staff were patient and the boy who took our order was so kind to my son and kind of distracted him while my husband and I were looking over the menu since it was our first time there.
