Hello I had came in July 12 and had the best experience I have had ever here, the waiter kept checking on us making sure we were good in a friendly manner made sure our order was good and every thing was at our expectations, this waiter made sure me my parents and grandparents were satisfied explaining the menu and everything to us. As of today August 2nd 2026 the establishment was busy, and of course the WAITER was here and she was busy attending a customer and was the only one to greet me and the family served us as well what can I say excellent outstanding phenomenal service thanks to the one and only best waiter Ms. MARIOLY we definitely will be back her energy mood and character sold us as regulars here for now on guarantee cooks deserve a shout out as well food has great flavor over all made us feel at home :) read more

My first time here was a mixed experience. I was greeted right away and told to sit anywhere. I was by myself so I chose a small table towards the front. One server dropped off a menu. Then another server brought some chips and salsa. But, no one offered me anything to drink so I had to flag a server down to get some water. Another server finally came over and took my order. No smile, no hello, no "sorry for the wait ". I ordered the chorizo skillet and the portion was huge and it was delicious! Went for breakfast on morning, the place was packed, several tables in one large room. So loud that conversation was impossible without raising your voice. Appeared under staffed, due to long wait between seating, ordering, serving and billing. Food was satisfactory with decent portions. Hey Yelp fam! It's brunch time and after a fresh Sunday morning walk with the wifey @Mt Rubidoux I've been wanting to hit up this spot for some chilaquiles with Steak and their Menudo! I ordered the Chilaquiles with Steak and it was absolutely delicious!!! The steak was perfect with the grill marks the tenderness and charred Smokey flavor from having the steak flame grilled and perfectly seasoned. It was so good that after I'd finished it I noticed I didn't ask for overeasy eggs that I thought would have automatically been on there lol maybe next time. The menudo was good not great but good. It seemed watered down though a little bland no kick and the staff although friendly needs to work on attending. Which is the reason for the 4 star review vs a 5 star review. I still recommend trying them out. They have pretty good weekly deals too! I'll be sure to try them out! read more

We've been here several times in the past few months and everything we've tried is amazing. Service is great. All the ladies here are kind and helpful. Place is clean and open. This morning we had the chorizo burrito and the eggs rancheros. Everything is super fresh, large portions, and lots of flavor. We'll keep coming back. We went for the first time because it popped in my tik Tok. I drove 1.5hrs and I regret it. Took my family to have breakfast . We waited over an hour and our food never came. People who arrived after us were getting their food and they were big party's. Went to ask why it was taking long if they didn't sent order or what. They said yes they sent it. Then they said the ticket was lost the. Then they said the server never sent the order to the kitchen. I got upset because they kept changing story. I told them we were going to just leave they still charge me the 2 coffees . I would have thought they would of just said don't worry for making us wait over and hour and never receiving any food. So hubby and I went to Alexa's for the first time today. We both ordered Menudo, we didn't ask for pata. It came in a large bowl with hominy and tripe. I had corn tortillas and he had flour, both were homemade, yum. Coffee wasn't great nor the melon agua fresca both were watery. The menudo was good but not great. The restaurant was very busy and loud. Just basic diner style. Then the bill came, the menu said 15.99 for the menudo (good price) but the bill said 17.29 the waitress said that there is a 3.99% surcharge for not paying cash on each item. My receipt doesn't show it , kinda sneaky. FYI-That is not allowed in California for debit cards. The other items on the menu looked good, but bring cash btw only the cash price is on the menu. read more

When ordering Menudo, they should tell the customer that the hominy in the Menudo is cooked separately. When we received our Menudo, the hominy was raw. It was hard and they had no oil chili for your Menudo, which I feel they should've told us upfront from the beginning that the ingredients for the Menudo was not available at the time of ordering. Will never come back here again menudo was horrible!!! read more

OMG! This is one of the best Mexican restaurants. Starting with the salsa and chips then to the chorizo taco (the chorizo is some of the best I've ever had - and I am picky about chorizo), and through the Wet Chile Verde burrito, my taste buds were celebrating. The pancakes, eggs & sausage were cold. Ask for fresh food, the 2nd plate they brought was still cold. The waitresses were nice about it. The tacos were ok. I got 2 asada and 1 al pastor. Would I come back?? Probably not. It wasn't for me. 2-Star Review We arrived when the restaurant was very busy, which I completely understand. When I checked in and gave my name, I was told the wait would be about 30 minutes. At the same time, another server mentioned that Table #4 was about to open up. Over the next several minutes, Table #4 was cleaned and at least four other tables became available as well. What was frustrating was that instead of seating parties as tables became ready, the staff seemed to wait until multiple tables were available and then seated everyone at once. Despite arriving before several other parties, my family was called last. After being seated (about 30 minutes after checking in), we were given chips, salsa, and menus, but then the staff proceeded to take orders from the other tables first--even though those guests had arrived after us. I understand that busy periods can be overwhelming, and I don't fault the staff for being busy. However, the seating and service process felt disorganized and unfair. It seems like the restaurant could benefit from either additional staff during peak hours or a better system for managing the waitlist and seating guests in the order they arrive. The food may be good, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. read more

I like coming here for the Carne asada. It's always good. The rice today was hard and the beans a little salty. Today while sitting facing the kitchen , I watched as the cooks talked touching their faces, hair , raw meat without washing their hands and using their aprons to wipe their hands . They don't use gloves and risk getting people sick. The dining area itself is clean. I would really have to think about coming back again. read more

I'm giving this place 1 star because of their dishonest pricing. I called in a to-go order and specifically asked for the prices of each item. The employee gave me amounts that were slightly higher than what's listed on the menu -- for example: * Combo #15 is $18.99 on the menu, but I was told $19.75 * Tuesday's special is $13.99, but they said $14.55 * Carne asada burrito listed at $11.29, but quoted at $11.74 * Large Jamaica priced at $5.99, but they told me $6.23 At first, I assumed they were just quoting me the total with tax included. But when I picked up my food, they added tax on top of those already-inflated prices. So I ended up paying more than I should have. On top of that, the food was mediocre -- nothing memorable or worth returning for. If you decide to eat here, double-check what they're charging you. The lack of transparency left a bad taste in my mouth, and not from the food. read more

To begin with the salsa and chips are fresh and great flavor on the salsa. I ordered carne Asada street type tacos. The meat had lots of flavor and they were generous to add avocado to my tacos. (Other places would charge extra for that.) Beans and rice...delicious. Very homemade flavors. read more

Cute Mexican restaurant in Colton Saturday evening dinner ... I got the carnitas Torta delicious. Carnitas cooked perfectly and juicy. Hubby got Surf and Turf burrito. Shrimp cooked delicious not overcooked. Steak cooked tender and juicy. Chicken flautas were excellent my daughter couldn't stop doing the happy dance in her chair. Last dish was my daughter's Steak Fajitas. The steak was cooked amazing the vegetables (onions & bell peppers) we superb. We will definitely come back during the week for their weekly specials. Alexas cafe never disappoints. After discovering this place and having had driven by several times my family and I decided to give it a try and since then ( 3 months ago) we have been here at least once a week. We have tried lots of items from their menu from the surf and turf burrito which is amazing, the chilaquiles with steak, pancake breakfast, the flautas and our favorite the sizzling mixed fajitas ! We have not had a bad experience at this place. The staff is super friendly and very attentive. They get busy on the weekends so plan accordingly and be patient trust me it's worth it. One thing I did notice is there is no ambience music.. so all you can hear is the busy cooks and chatter from the customers...some nice background music would be nice. Other than that no complaints! I stopped by after seeing all the post about the chilaquilles breakfast with asada. That happens to be my favorite Mexican breakfast. The red sauce they use for the chilaquilles was damn good, I'll definitely be going back for more. I do like more cheese so I'll make sure to request extra cheese next time. We also ordered a chili verde wet burrito, that was a big disappointment. The green sauce was so bland an flavorless, that surprised me considering how good the red sauce was. read more

Salsa was tasty, tortilla chips could use more love with freshness and salt. Really good red enchilada sauce, too skimpy on the cheese; and they forgot the onions. Overall the enchiladas were small.Beans were decent, once again lacking cheese. Rice had a great flavor and spot on visual. Taco meat was shredded beef done right, however once again lacked cheese. Platter was virtually appeasing just wished the near misses with the cheese could have been simply rendered. Perhaps later they will correct the issues. read more

My husband has been eating here at lunch for a while & insisted I go to breakfast with him this morning. The restaurant is super clean. We were greeted immediately upon entering and the staff was super friendly and very attentive. The food portions are humungous, very fresh, tasted great and they had American style breakfasts, Mexican breakfasts & dinners and a board at the front door announcing specials. Both of us went with American style breakfasts, but we will definitely be back soon to have some Mexican food. He's had a lot of the dishes here before & loves everything he's been served. We came for Father's Day 2025! My father in law and the family have been here before. The restaurant had good vibe. We got there right as they opened for business on the Sunday morning. The coffee was on point. The service was great. Our waitress would check on us frequently and top off our cups of coffee. I ordered the Red sauce chilaquiles and Carne asada plate. It's probably the best seasoned carne asada I've ever had a restaurant. The chilaquiles were delicious and the rice was pretty good. The rice was as good as homemade rice from home. Been trying to make it out to the Colton location for quite some time and my recent visit wasn't the best. I do have to say, the food was absolutely delicious. Both locations have great tasting food but the Fontana restaurant has the slight edge. My beef with Colton is the service. Five servers for what, 12 tables. We were sitted fairly quick but were asked what we wanted to drink by three different servers. My wife ordered the Jamaica and I ordered the Horchata. 10mins later I got my drink but they had ran out of Jamaica and waited for another Horchata for my wife. I ordered carnitas and the wife the fajitas. She came back saying no more carnitas. Received our food and no utensils. Walked to the front to get us some silverware. Food was bomb. Just wish the service was better. I'll keep going to the Fontana location. read more

Right when you walk in the place is really cute and clean. Whenever I try new places I try to order as much as I can. Let me start with those chips... oh boy they took me back to when I was a kid and my nana would make fresh chips just like this. We tried the chicken soup very good big portion. Tried a chile relleno, I really enjoyed that. Had the asada plate, wow that meat was soooo tender and perfectly seasoned rice was ok but personally for me I didn't care for the beans they tasted a lil old. Now let's go to why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5. I ordered 5 tacos of asada. Those tacos were sooooooo excessively greasy to where I had grease dripping from my hands. The grease took away all flavors from the tacos, I couldn't enjoy them. Also a negative is the flies in this place, I was shooing flies away the whole time I was sitting there. You might want to invest in one of those blowers that the markets have when you enter. Other than that I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to visit again and try other things. read more
