Bae Breakfast at House of Eggs today! When we arrived they invited us to sit anywhere we liked. Shortly after arriving, the restaurant filled up. The service today was great. Our waitress was tentative and on point. She moved quick and was accurate. Today, I tried something new. I ordered the Carne Asada Torta and substituted my French fries for home fries (order them extra crispy). I prefer them extra crispy because they're a little under done for my liking the regular way they cook them. The accidentally added bell pepper and onion to them and the waitress let me know ahead of time. I told her it was ok because I actually like them like that. My torta was good. It's huge! Definitely a meal for 2 people. The bread was soft - it could've been toasted a bit more for me because it wasn't able to support the beans and meat and started falling apart. It comes with lettuce, tomato, avocado, beans, mayo, and cheese. The meat was flavorful and even had a nice char and the refried beans were nice and creamy. Even though it was good, it wasn't my favorite. No matter what you order, make sure and get their salsas. They have a green and red and I think it's best to mix them... The ambiance is full of life. There's music playing in the background but it's not too loud. Definitely a cool little spot to dine in. read more

I tried this breakfast spot for the first time today and it did not disappoint. We happened to arrive right before the rush, so we were seated immediately with no wait. By the time we were leaving the restaurant was completely full, so we definitely got there at the perfect time. Service was amazing from the start. The staff, especially our server, were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Our order was taken within about five minutes of being seated, and the food came out impressively fast -- less than ten minutes. Everything we ordered was really good. One small tip: I'd recommend asking for the potato wedges well done and maybe a little lighter on the seasoning. My favorite dish was definitely the French toast -- it had a slight crunch on the outside while still being soft and fluffy inside, which made the texture perfect. The red chilaquiles were my second favorite. They had great flavor, and next time I'd probably add avocado to take them to the next level. I had the chance to check out House of Eggs in Colton with two old friends. We all live in different cities and were looking for a spot somewhere in the middle to catch up over breakfast. Our main requirement was that it wasn't Denny's. None of us had been to House of Eggs before but it didn't disappoint. I ordered the Machaca plate which was super flavorful and hit the spot. My friends went with traditional breakfasts with eggs, pancakes, the whole deal, and everything looked and tasted great. The staff kept our coffee cups full the entire time which was appreciated. We probably stayed longer than we should have since the place is pretty small and it was definitely busy, but the staff never rushed us or made us feel like we had to leave. They were courteous and patient the whole time which was a big plus. If you're in Colton and looking for a solid spot to grab breakfast or brunch, House of Eggs is definitely worth checking out. I am not from around here. This fact will be important to the review soon, just wait for it. The service was nice, the food was good. I say again the service was nice and the food was good. It was 3 of us dining and we all got something different. I saw Mexican food offerings, so I chose the chorizo breakfast. Let me mention the tortillas were the star for sure. They were freshly made. They had a great taste like they came from a grandmother's kitchen. We all know grandma does it best. We all finished our meal completely, so the serving sizes were perfect with no leftovers to take away. (Leftover typically breakfast doesn't hold well, so this was a plus) I am from Los Angeles, so my culinary standards are high! You can get food from anywhere around the world in Los Angeles and adjacent areas. With that said, I feel as though there was a little bit of Mexican flavor missing from my chorizo breakfast. Yes, I am not Mexican, but I definitely feel if there was an honorary badge, I would have one. There are supposedly 5 food groups, they miscounted. There are 6 food groups, Mexican food is one of the 6. Now someone who was born and raised in the IE and has never been to Los Angeles or doesn't have an Abuela to make them traditional food will think it's top tier. We got to this spot and found folk outside waiting to get in, which was a good thing. We had to add our name to waiting list by signing the green clipboard, which is old school and cool. In short, the place was packed! Once inside, the vibe was welcoming/relaxing and the customer service was wonderful to say the least. Our waitress knocked it out of the park! She was fantastic! Noticed this place out the corner of my eye while driving by from an appointment. Decided to stop in. The parking lot is small and limited for parking. The restaurant itself is small, but cozy on the inside. Very friendly staff and very clean place. The food was amazing! My son had a chorizo burrito with potatoes that were seasoned perfectly. The tortilla was homemade and fluffy. They use mozzarella cheese which is a new twist on a Mexican dish for me, but it works! The chicken and waffles were pretty good. The Waffles were thick and fluffy. The chicken was the standard strips but you get quite a bit in 4 strips. I would definitely go again and recommend for breakfast. read more
