We needed to grab lunch before we got home. We decided to try Woody's Roadhouse and it did not disappoint. The visit started off a bit slow but once Jim started waiting on us, service was great. He was tentative, helpful, and thorough (making sure our food was cooked to our liking. He even packaged our leftovers up for us. The ambiance of this place is casual with diner vibes. I also like the tribute wall to the city of Colton and the jukebox. There's table seating, counter seating and booths. The inside is a nice size. The food was really good. We ordered a steak & eggs breakfast w/ hash browns, a behemoth burger, and a French dip meal. My French dip was decent. The au jus was a punch of flavor, bread was soft but toasted, and the meat was tender. I really enjoyed it. I also love that they serve steak fries and they know how to fry them to perfection. My kids steak and eggs were cooked perfectly (medium rare). Jim had her make sure it was cooked perfect before he walked away. As for the behemoth burger, it's massive. It has a link, two Pattie's, bacon, onion strings, grilled onions, and veggies if you choose. Bae loved it and said it was super juicy on a sesame seed bun. Definitely try this place out! The prime rib was cooked nicely, tender, and had a lot of flavor. My wife really enjoyed her chicken fried steak too, especially with the gravy and hash browns. What made the visit even better was Gloria. She was warm, funny, and made us feel welcomed the whole time. Good food is always important, but great service makes the experience even better, and she definitely did that. Overall, we had a really good experience. We wanted diner food but it was already late afternoon (2pm) so my mom remembered they were open now. We came and so happy we did! Jim was our server he was great :) The restaurant is a good size lots of seating. Looks like big parties can be accommodated also. The menu is really big and even on the lunch menu they have a breakfast all day section! Good prices as well. I got the pancake combo and my mom got the fish and chips but substituted fries for fruit. Everything was really delicious. This one was really good! The rich broth the tender tripe delicious! A little skimpy on the condiments but it comes with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. Also ordered the Avocado Toast but not worth the price so I had to knock a star. I ordered the Huevos Divorsiados (Divorced Eggs with a side of bacon) it's two eggs one on each side one with red sauce and one with green sauce with beans and rice to "keep them separated" ha ha only certain people will know why I put quotes :-)) Both sauces had perfect heat! Had the right amount of crisp and also the Buffalo sauce gave it a nice kick. Or dessert, we ordered the bread pudding! This one was a little different than what we were used to. It tasted as though it had a little zestive citrus. That kind of threw us off, but it also tasted pretty good! Overall, the food may have been mediocre, but this service was amazing. The food was great! The portions were big and I ended up taking the rest to go (a plus for me hehe). I got the teriyaki chicken and my sides were loaded mashed potatoes + garlic fries. The chicken and the glaze were actually really good, and the mashed potatoes were my favorite! So flavorful. Our waitress was sweet and took our order quickly and since it was our first time, we asked for recommendations and went with them. We ordered the full rack of ribs and the one pound top sirloin steak. Whoa! The portions of the meat were absolutely huge. Crisp, fresh and crunchy with every bite. Yesterday I was looking forward to having the same pub style Fish n Chips I had in the past and was beyond disappointed. Not sure if it was a chef error or new change in menu, but what I received was a few lightly coated pieces of what appeared to be tilapia. It was HOT but did not taste freshly fried, soggy and thin in the middle,it had no crunch, soft in texture and no seasoning. It appeared to be the fish that would be used for fish tacos but not the pub style fish n Chips I was looking forward to. I was also very disappointed in the Mac n Cheese (served w a spoon stuck in the middle of small bowl), Mac n cheese appeared to be boiled macaroni, put in a bowl,loaded w cheese and then microwaved, not sure if thats how it was done but thats how it tasted.Bland, boring. Had high hopes for this place because I seen that a new steak house had opened up, then I started seeing there breakfast online as well.
