the price list for the restaurant

Utterly so disappointed! This truck use to be my absolute favorite! Why would you mess up a good thing! I had a pretty large order - 3 Birria tacos (no onions, extra crispy) - 2 Tripas - 5 carne asada tacos ( 3 no onions) - 1 carne asada burrito (no beans no rice) - 2 Horchatas I proceeded to tell the cashier my order. She would interrupt constantly. She would not listen and after me confirming 3 times, she responded with yes, yes, okay and proceeded to charge me. I ordered all the tacos ( besides the birria) to be small tacos. However, she corrected me and said the small are the tacos and the bigs are the burritos. WHAT?!!! You still charged me large tacos! I didn't want to argue, and thought "Whatever! I'm still getting tacos!" I asked her to make sure the burrito came with no rice or beans but we still want onions, cilantro, and cheese. "Okay, okay, everything!."was what she responded. Again... " no. I want the burrito WITHOUT rice and beans" Well... when the order came out, none of my order was correct. Things that shouldn't have onions had onions and things with onions did not. The burrito only had meat... when I told her I wanted small tacos and not the large ones she told me they already made it... can't change it now. (Whatever, same difference, right?) WRONG! Miscommunication was frustrating but what happened to the food?!! Granted the portion of meat was plentiful but they forgot to season EVERYTHING! I literally thought they changed owners or workers! My birria was white! It lacked flavor and tasted like meat floss. The consumme that use to be so soothing and flavorful was now reduced to something sad. The tripas that was once crispy now tasted boiled and truthfully, inedible. I literally went home and had to turn on that stove and recooked all the food! Only thing I still enjoyed was their avocado salsa. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! It was 51$ for our order and I probably would have rather paid for el pollo locos "birria." (I think that says a lot!)

WHERES THE MEAT? This is a carne asada burrito sadly; if I wanted this much rice I would've gone to a Chinese restaurant. Avoid

IF I WOULD HAVE WANTED THIS MUCH RICE I WOULD HAVE GONE TO A CHINESE RESTAURANT Ordered a carne asada burrito but received a rice burrito. Contents were about: 60% rice 35% beans 5% what I actually wanted (See photo) I so dislike burrito experiences like this. Lesson learned, never order a burrito from a taco truck, certainly not this one.

Really good food, good service the lady is really nice if you ask for extra salsa or something else she said yes no problem I'm so happy I be back soon

I definitely underestimated the amount of food they give you here at Tacos el Chente, so my late night snack quickly became a late nigh FEAST. The order consisted of the following tacos: Taco Naco -- You're getting a mountain of meat! 4 different kinds of meat (I believe were pollo, pastor, asada, and chorizo). Carne Asada -- Pretty good and fresh! A classic taco choice if you aren't one for crazy meats. Cabeza -- As opposed to other taco places, this was genuine cabeza, not shredded! Chewy and fatty in the best ways. All these hit the spot and I had a refreshing Jamaica to finish it all off, yum! (For those unfamiliar, it reminded me of cranberry juice.) The employees were kind too.

Love these tacos and the flavor! The tortilla had a nice crisp but was still soft at the same time, while the meat was nicely flavored. They definitely don't skimp out on how much meat they give you. I had the carne asada and al pastor, both of which tasted great. The avocado salsa is also really good and a great addition to the flavor. The lady is very nice when she takes your order. The only thing i wish i had more of was onions and cilantro added in the taco, but you can add your own at their condiments bar.

    Really horrible service

It is really not appreciated when she takes my order and multiple people that arrived after me get there food first service i just hope the food is good since i am waiting here for almost 20 minutes! Update: she forgot my order!!!! She asked me if i was going to order i had to show her my receipt!!!

Tacos were so bland and tasteless. $22 for 9 mini tacos is pretty pricey especially not tasting that good. First and last time for sure.

Whenever we're in the area and see the truck, there's always a crowd, and we always stop by to grab some food. They've never disappointed us. Lengua - 8/10 Super tender and full of flavor. Al Pastor - 8/10 Well-seasoned with a nice char. Mulitas - 9/10 One of our favorites! Crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Lengua Quesadilla - 9/10 Loaded with tender lengua and definitely worth ordering. We recommend this spot to all of our friends. There's plenty of parking, and the truck is well lit at night. Although the surrounding street is fairly quiet in the evening, it's an easy and convenient stop if you're craving authentic street tacos.

Taquería Mexico: The Incredible Shrinking Taco…read more I remember when this place had lines out the door. Cinco de Mayo, I'm craving tacos, I show up expecting chaos. There's 3 people ahead of me. Jackpot, right? Wrong. They move so slow that a line forms behind me anyway. 15 minutes later I finally order: 2 carne asada, 2 al pastor to go, onion + cilantro on the side, salsa included. $2.65 each, FYI. Get home, crack open the foil, and... are these tacos for ants? I'm not crazy, so I did what any rational adult does: pulled out a food scale. Three tacos, weighed the meat. All came in at _under 1 oz_. Normal tacos run 1.5 oz. These are missing a full half-ounce of dignity. I usually need 2-3 bites per taco. These? One bite. I tested it. Slid right in like a communion wafer. Flavor? Aggressively mid. Carne asada tasted like it gave up halfway through cooking. Pastor was just... there. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable. Like a beige PowerPoint slide. Sides? Salsa bar? Pickled onions, grilled jalapeños, radishes? Nah. This place is a desert. You get foil, meat confetti, and the crushing realization that $2.65 bought you disappointment. Now I know why the line died. Taquería Mexico isn't even phoning it in -- they hung up. Orange County really is the undisputed champion of mid tacos. I live 1 mile from the LA County line and I'm forced to cross it like a taco refugee. Sad, because I _want_ to support brick-and-mortar spots. But not when they're actively shrinking my dinner. Giving them 3 stars on Yelp because I was raised right. Real score: 4.8/10. The pics on their site are pure fiction from 2012. Don't believe me? I took a pic of the meat on my scale as evidence. CSI: Taco Division. Do better, Taquería Mexico. This is shameful.

Ordered a burrito ($11) with 1/2 marinated pork (which is quite good), and 1/2 with tongue (interesting, not bad but I wouldn't do it again for the burrito, for taco - yes) w/o cheese & bean - basically meats w/ rice and everything else. I will say the truck itself is placed at a pretty dark corner of the street with some transient people nearby. Just an observation, nothing to do with the food or service. The service was fast and everything went smoothly when ordering, this place takes card if you don't have any cash. I ordered 1 al pastor burrito, 3 lengue tacos, 1 pastor taco, 2 tripas, and 2 cabeza. The order took about 10 minutes to complete even though I was the only customer. The self service bar had everything you needed, 4 separate sauces, cilantro, onion, radish, cucumber, limes, and pickled onions, jalapenos, and habaneros. I took it to go to eat at home and after the 10 minute drive and walk into my apartment everything was still super hot and smelt amazing. The pastor is some of the best I've had in a while, super flavorful and juicy. The lengue was tender, the cabeza almost had a tallow flavor, and the tripas was crispy. All excellent choices in my book. The sauces were spicy, however, in a blind taste test I don't think I could distinguish between any of them. Visually they were distinct but the flavor profiles were all very similar. Still good salsas overall, but if you're a diehard verde vs roja kinda person there really wasn't a difference in my opinion. Definitely worth trying out, hard to stand out too much with the multitude of taco shops/trucks around, but a good choice overall. Al Pastor has to be the highlight of the meat choices. Also Tuesday they offer 1.50 on a select choice of meats. For 1 burrito and 8 tacos my order came out to a little over 33 with tax, good bang for your buck.
