I go in for my usual Veggie Burrito for under 10 bucks which is usually very good. Today I have the female owner telling me how the prices went up and my veggie burrito is now over 13 dollars! I told her that was way too high for a burrito and she told me now it included rice too. I told her a burrito is enough to eat and if someone wants rice they should order it as a side - not include it with a burrito to bring the price up ! I told her I wouldnt be buying any more 13 dollar veggie burritos and she said "Well,you cant please everyone !". Such a surly attitude I was surprised. I do not need to patronize a business who gives forth an attitude of she could care less. Ohhh, to top it off they forgot to give me the rice with the now 13 dollar burrito. The BEST Mexican food I have had since I have lived in Northern Mexico/Southern California hands down! Not only is the food amazing but the family who runs it is just as wonderful. They are always warm and welcoming. And make suggestions to friends when they have never been there before. They never disappoint. The Main St location is my favorite but the trailer in Lebanon is closer and convenient. Dined in at Tacos el Gordo twice in the last two weeks. The sitting area was cozy but not too loud with other patrons on a Friday night. The food came out with an acceptable wait time. Drinks are bottled or in cans. Tables are given complimentary tortilla chips with red and green salsa. The green salsa was a tad bit spicy for me but it was still good. First time visiting the restaurant today. I have had food from the taco truck before and it was fantastic! The restaurant did not disappoint! The nachos were large enough to share and were very tasty. We chose steak for the meat. They also had refried beans, a melty cheese, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños. The chips were crispy and the steak was tender. The guacamole was smooth and delicious! Everything tasted fresh and the price for the nachos was $12. Pretty good price considering the serving size. Now to the food...the nachos were good and I ate the entire plate, but didn't seem "authentic" due to the generic pourable cheese sauce. I'm very sad to say, no thank you to this place. The staff were very nice and I give them 5 stars. The location is great. It's very clean. But we came in as a big party, we all ordered different things, I tried everyone's food, and it was all boring and not great. Cold stringy lettuce and cold chunks of tomato stuffed in soggy burritos making everything inside cold. Too many ingredients with similar texture just make every bite both hot and cold and mushy. It's unpleasant. The plates weren't colorful with fresh ingredients, or singing with flavor. No fresh onion, no fresh lime, no fresh pico, no fresh cilantro. A glop of brown beans, rice and meat. Stringy lettuce and diced tomatoes. The sauces which can sometimes bring the platter alive, were forgettable and one dimensional. I wanted to LOVE this place, but I have had unbelievable Mexican food that was fresh and lovely and flavorful. That was not what I experienced here sadly. I will try one of their truck locations and see if the experience is different. read more

The best Mexican food in the area as far as I know. Found this place by accident and I will be going back. I had the tacos Biria, tacos al pastor, Mexican street corn and the churros. I wasn't a fan of the churro.The rest of the food was excellent. The employees were very nice talking to people like they are regulars including us. The staff knew the whole menu well. I ordered recently and the meal was awful, and I returned the uneaten food and the waiter seemed to be at a loss as to what to do, so I left my name and phone number. I received a caller later asking what was wrong and I explained it tasted awful, the Tamale was very thin, overcooked and stale tasting. The Chilies Relleos wasn't any better. The individual who called me back kept insisting on the fact the food was fine when they made it in the morning-- that is well and good but I had a meal that tasted awful, I returned it and I wasn't offered a replacement.
