As always I enjoyed lunch at Fox Meadows. I enjoy ordering their specials and today's chicken teriyaki was tasty. I got a 1/2 portion with a pick 2 option of ice cream and I left the restaurant VERY full. We ate there on a busy Monday, but we were able to get a small table after watching to see when someone was leaving. Service was friendly and surprisingly quick considering how busy they were! My husband's new favorite vanilla (ever) is their Madagascar vanilla and my little guy loved them both and his soft pretzel! A small dairy farm is usually a good bet for some great tasting ice cream, but it was Fox Meadows Creamery's spot on the Yelp top 100 list for ice cream that had me taking a detour to Ephrata while out in the Lancaster/Pennsylvania Dutch country area. The setting is absolutely amazing in a small farmhouse where you can see the cows off in the distance which likely contributed to the cream in your ice cream treat. While I don't usually deviate from my usual go-to flavors and try to keep it simple when it comes to ice cream, Fox Meadows is unique in its offering of the Baked Fox, where they hot press a shell of either chocolate chip cookie, strawberry shortcake, or brownie over your ice cream. I went with a Baked Fox of cookies and cream ice cream with a brownie shell, and it was absolutely delicious. I don't know how they do it, but the combination of hot & fresh brownie over dairy fresh ice cream was absolutely delicious, and it usually takes a lot for me to be really impressed in an ice cream creation. This was several levels better than the places you see popping up serving small batch ice cream or weird artisanal flavors, as I prefer my ice cream to be tasty and dairy fresh rather than it be fancy. Fox Meadows Creamery checked off all my boxes for a wonderful ice cream experience in a wonderful setting. I'd gladly return and recommend them to others. Wanted a late night treat because it's Friday and it's Valentines Day weekend. We decided to go to Fox Meadows since they close at 9:30pm. When we got there around 9:05pm, there were still customers sitting in the eating areas (spread out) and customers ordering so the staff were still active! I was shocked at how fast we got served and the quality was great. They also sell food products like meat sticks, peaches in jars, Stroopies, etc. The shop was very clean, bright and inviting. Lots of space to sit and eat. I loved how they made the place cozy looking tonight for Valentines Day weekend. They had vases at tables with a rose in the middle which makes it a cute date night place. You can choose to just call the shop's phone number and order through the phone from your car and it will be brought out to you, I've seen this before.
