Super delicious tacos! The meats were so juicy and flavorful, especially the al pastor. I love how it came with bits of pineapple just the way it's supposed to be. The salsa had a nice kick without overpowering the flavor. The wait wasn't too bad considering they were busy. read more

This little truck has been giving me life during this Covid shutdown. They have been parked on Telegraph St by Mill/Terminal from 11a-2p ish. we've been getting street tacos each week at my office. Carne asada, Pork pastor, chicken, and carnitas are all good, well seasoned, and the 3 different salsas are fantastic. Avocado, Verde, and a spicy red. We've requested the tacos come dressed and extra salsas on the side and they are generous with the onions, cilantro, limes, and salsas. You can call ahead to have the order ready for pickup, there is a little bit of a language barrier so make your orders straightforward. read more

Reno reviewer back again to review el gordo taco truck located at the flea market on the weekends and some weekdays on Wells avenue as you all know I always eat at a place two times before a review gets posted but I ate here three times since they have two locations.Let's get started from all three times I have eaten here I can say the food is inconsistent that's including the taste and portions of the food. Quesabirria tacos where good the first time they were made on a regular size tortilla and had a good crisp to them and a very good flavor as well as the consome second time around they were made on a street taco size tortilla no crisp at all very greasy and very soggy consome second time around was very spicy. Asada tacos lack meat you can literally eat it in one bite very small portions each time. Burritos where big but they were stuffed with more rice and beans then meat very disappointing both times. From my point of view you don't get what you pay for here not a lot of bang for your buck can't say this place deserves more then one star read more

Lunch time was upon me and as I walked out of my building I was greeted by sight of a new food truck. I originally ordered two pollo and two asada tacos. When I saw there was no Yelp review posted, I went back and got a quesadilla. The good...The menu is simple...tacos, burrittos, tortas, and quesadillas. The food was reasonably priced. $1.50 per taco. $6 for the quesadilla. Both entrees were tasty and filling. Yes...I packed both away (guess I don't need dinner). I also liked the fresh pico de gallo which came with the quesadilla. The prep time was fast which is essential for a lunchtime food truck. The bad...Since I have to put a "bad" comment in to balance the review I'm going to have to get nitpicky. They do charge an extra $0.50 for the credit card transaction. They also did not have my soda preference...as I said...nitpicky. Bang for the buck this truck is definitely a great option! read more

I spotted this truck at the flea market in sparks. I had never been before and was taken back to my time in Las Vegas and began craving Mexican food in the same style that my father had cooked for me and my siblings all my childhood. THIS TRUCK DID JUST THAT. I got one taco de buche and one taco de cueritos and it was so juicy, tender and full of flavor. Most importantly the meat was available!! I honestly cannot find buche and cueritos ANYWHERE in the Reno/Sparks area. The salsa was also very good! Almost as good as my moms! I do think $2 a taco is a bit much but I would pay it again because the quality and service was there! Very friendly staff. read more

Great food truck with typical pricing for the area. Their quesadillas are loaded with cheese, so if you like that, this is a good truck to stop at. Their meat has always like it is good quality and all the ingredients taste fresh. Maybe the previous reviewers got them on a bad day. This place is a good value. read more

Saw this truck at the swap meet in Sparks. Ordered 4 asada tacos and and 4 pastor tacos. Excellent! Best pastor tacos I've had in N. Nevada hands down. The pork was crispy, had a slight sweetness and tons of grease dripping from them. Price was on point at $1.50 too. I guess you could complain that the customer has to dress the tacos but they have all the fixings outside the truck on ice, everything was fresh and tasty. You'll have to ask for napkins, no biggie. Good food, budget friendly and great customer service. Needed a decent & budget friendly caterer for my niece's wedding and El Gordo didn't disappointment. Esmerelda was so nice and accommodating to my million questions and calls for my 30ppl event. They met me at the venue ahead of time to plan out the perfect set up and came prepared the day of to make fresh delicious food and set up quietly. They served tacos, rice & beans, and quesadillas all behind their tented table to our guests and included a spread of salsa and even a salad! They also provided chips and salsa for the tables. Working near by, but didn't want to drive anywhere. Came out to have a cigarette and saw the food truck and yes I love Mexican food. So I decided to get two tacos and a burrito. The burrito is so huge but disappointed by the lack of meat, there was mainly beans and old rice in the burrito, so I threw it away since the rice has a old taste to it, but know time for the tacos it use to be $1.00 when I used to buy from a taco truck and now $1.50 for a taco that comes from a taco truck is a bit pricey for me, and it is very small, and by far the hot sauce has to be the worst one I ever tasted in my life. It was not cool to see sweat on their head while making people food, if anything sweat could drip down to the food. Keep that in mind people when ordering food from a food truck when it's summer. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOOD TRUCK TO ANYONE. I rather drive myself to get food from somewhere else then to walk across the street to this nasty food truck. read more

i would not recommend this taco truck to anyone, yes there burrito is big but mostly fill with alot of rice and beans, barely any meat. their hot sauce is very gross! the rice in the burrito taste old and just have been sitting there for days. it's summer and i know it's hot in that food truck, and i saw their sweat drip off from there head into people food while they were making it, ewwwww! i will never go back ever!! beware people beware, unless you like the taste of sweat. read more
