The service is quick and prices are great here ~ The burrito and tacos are decent quality and satisfying. They're good to try out ~

Really good, authentic Mexican food in Cedar City! Look no further. Plus they have an amazing salsa bar. Lots to choose from on the menu. I got a variety of street tacos, a crunchy taco along with a side of rice and beans. SOOOO GOOD! Service was excellent, food came up fast even though there was a line. It is now my go-to Mexican place, so glad it's here.

On one of our last evenings in Cedar City we stopped at Tacos el Jefe after a long day at Bryce Canyon. Our appetites were satisfied. Great local place for tacos and Mexican. Many choices and combos to choose from. I got 2 sopes, one with chorizo and one with lengua. Both were delicious. The sopes were crispy and filled with toppings. The lengua very tender and seasoned well. The chorizo had a nice kick of flavor. They were good size and 2 was enough. Rest of family had chimichangas. They were huge and fried up perfectly. They were stuffed with meat and had a nice amount of guacamole and sour cream. Definitely get your money worth on these. There is a salsa bar with some different salsa to try and some pickled veggies. Nice touch. The green salsa was excellent. We really enjoyed Tacos el Jefe. If we are in Cedar City again we will definitely stop by for some good Mexican food.

    Al pastor taco. Not good.

Still love the service and food. Had the bacon breakfast burrito and it was great. Tried the Al pastor taco. We don't recommend. It was dry & not very flavorful. But we'll still be back as everything else we've tried is delicious.

After a long day of snowboarding, we were in the mood for something filling and flavorful. They have lots of options, and on the weekends they offer al pastor! I got the al pastor fries, and my partner got mini tacos with lengua, adobada, and carnitas. My friends got carnitas plate, menudo, and more. Our order should show you how much variety they have. You order at the desk and they give you a buzzer once your meal is ready. I love that all the sauces, grilled peppers, and grilled onions were self serve so you could try everything if you want. Everyone loved the grilled onions, and those grilled peppers are definitely spicy. The al pastor fries had so much meat and toppings. I was so grateful it wasn't just fries and cheese. The meat was tender and packed with flavor. The carnitas tacos were the best out of the lengua, carnitas, and adobada. The menudo was pretty gamey if you like that taste. I loved how colorful it was in here. I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality and would come again.

Best Taco place in Utah, not just Cedar City. Good prices, good people, great food. Parking is not great.

The food was delicious Mexican. No waiters-you order and pick it up from the cook. It seemed clean but I was sick 3 days after.

This place serves up some of the freshest, most authentic Mexican grub I've had in southern Utah. We ordered a mix of their street tacos (the carne asada and al pastor are absolute standouts--juicy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with fresh cilantro, onions, and a squeeze of lime) along with their homemade horchata and a side of beans. We also enjoyed one of their daily specials, with a staff-recommended chia-lime and strawberry fresca, and everything was amazing. Everything was made to order, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality. The staff was super friendly and quick, even during the dinner rush, and the casual vibe with outdoor seating made it perfect for unwinding with the kids. No frills, just great food that feels like a taste of home. If you're in Cedar City for skiing, hiking, or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop here. We'll definitely be back--five stars all the way!

We love all of the different meats and never go without rice, beans, chips and salsa. Order our first exposure were the tostadas which are heavenly. A great place to eat even if you are dairy or gluten free, like me.

The chicken was that flavor I miss, and the fries were well seasoned. I have a drink mix I like that is one third Coke, One third Cherry Coke, and One third Dr. Pepper. They were out of Cherry Coke, but I managed to make a drink similar to the one I like by mixing Coke and Cherry Dr. Pepper, so I was happy. However, I wanted to use the bathroom before we got back on the road, and I saw the guy who took our order come out of the stall, and he didn't wash his hands. That detail kind of ruined the experience for me.

What arrived was two pieces of sad white bread hugging a slice of what I can only describe as "chicken-flavored disappointment" and a single wilted piece of lettuce that looked like it had been emotionally abused. The bacon? It tasted like it had been rescued from a dumpster behind a Marriott at 3 a.m. and then microwaved by someone who hates me personally. The fries were so salty I briefly gained the ability to preserve meat just by touching it. My tongue is now 40% sodium and 60% regret. Asked for extra Zax sauce (because at this point I needed something to feel). They gave me one tiny cup. ONE. Like I'm supposed to ration it like it's the last helicopter out of Saigon. Newsflash: I'm not a sauce communist. I want FREEDOM SAUCE. The cashier called me "boss" three times while simultaneously acting like I personally ruined his day by existing. Bro, I'm just trying to eat chicken and not cry in public. We're not that close. 10/10 would not recommend unless your goal is to experience what it feels like to be emotionally ghosted by fast food. Would give zero stars if I could, but they made me type all this out on their janky kiosk so now I'm just mad AND carpal tunnel. Thanks Zaxby's. You've ruined chicken for me and possibly marriage.
