Went here because it was right at the hotel, but don't recommend it. The servers were not friendly at all. The food wasn't good at all. My wife's food was so bad even though she was starving, she took 2 bites of it and left it all. We should have returned it and not pay for it but getting a server over wasn't happening and had to ask for our check just to leave. read more

This place was fantastic. The service was quick and friendly, and the drinks were perfect. The table-side guacamole was unforgettable. Our group of eight, consisting of four moms and four kids, each ordered something different and everyone loved their meals. The flavors and presentation were excellent, with everything tasting fresh--even the soup was outstanding. For a hotel restaurant, it exceeded expectations, and I would definitely return. I recently ate at Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant at 1575W.200N. in Cedar City, Utah. The taquitos were delicious--fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. Our server, Imelda, was extremely friendly and probably the best part of our experience. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. What really disappointed me, though, was discovering that they charge for soda refills. I had no idea until I got the bill and saw that my soda ended up costing around $8 with the refill charges added in. On top of that, there's also a service fee for using a credit or debit card, which wasn't mentioned beforehand. While the food and service were great, the unexpected fees took away from the overall experience. Just a heads-up--ask about drink refills and card fees before you order. read more

We have eaten here numerous times over the last few years. Today I would say it will be the last. I had the lunch special and hopefully dinners are still good. Chips seemed stale tasting, taco shell pre made. Shredded beef mushy, enchilada just had a can of sauce poured over it and the white weird beans were watery and just Not good. Attached to the Ramada hotel makes this a very convenient place to grab some food before getting some sleep. I stopped by for lunch and was recommended the steak fajitas by the wait staff. It really was just ok. Looking at the picture, you'll see ripping hot cast iron skillet has an immense amount of bell peppers, and really not much else. I would guess it had 80% bell peppers, 15% steak, and 5% onions. (I thought there were zero onions, but eventually I found 2-4 slivers in there) I'm not too upset about the ratios, but what really killed the dish for me was how uncooked the peppers were. They basically tasted like they were steamed, tossed on a hot plate, then ran out. I would really suggest letting those onions and bell peppers really build some color and then toss the sliced steak on there. Takes a little more time, but way better tasting. The beans, rice, guac, sour cream, were great, and the tortillas were really a high point. I wouldn't say no to going again in the future, but I'll order something different, maybe the carnitas? read more

It wasn't horrible, I've had worse. It was warm, not hot, and while I don't fault them for whatever insanely ridiculous laws the Mormons put in the state, but you can't have a beer unless you order food. They're not licensed as a bar, so no shots of tequila either. So, it's not fair to blame them for their alcohol, it's not their rule, but the prices were high for what you get, they have mostly $25 dollar plates, and I would have put them in the $12-$15 range. I got food poisoning :( This place is always dirty when I come in. I knew I should have left when I saw all the food under the tables when ur seated and at multiple tables. The food was dry and had no flavor except for straight oil. Food poisoning is serious for people who have weakened immune system. The only people who say this place is good is straight gringos. I had a wonderful time at Puerto Vallarta. They start with fresh chips and salsa which are very good. They give you a mild and a spicy salsa and I will warn anyone with a low spice tolerance that the spicy salsa was VERY spicy, I LOVED it. The atmosphere is cool, service was good but my Spanish isn't great, so communication with the server was hard, didn't get one of our plates right cause of it but it's ok. The prices are expensive. I really liked the Chips, Salsa and Beans to start off with.. loved my big horchata too but I wasn't pleased with the Shrimp A La Diabla. It wasn't authentic tasting.. very tomato saucy.. usually I've had it more spicy and flavorful.. it was full of mushrooms as well, almost all the plates have mushrooms in everything. The plates were huge tho, rice and beans were good, but the kids plates were very small and low quality. The burrito we had included shrimp, crab and chicken but it was really crabby and the sauce was a lot, made it soggy. The tortillas weren't the best, would be way better if they were homemade or fresh. I just wanted to have a good experience, which again, the place and service was good but the food was way overrated and pricey. I would not go back. We were kinda disappointed as this place was raved up by some locals. We are also from southern Cali where they have the best of the best Authentic Mexican food so maybe we are being hard critics. read more

Best Mexican in Cedar! Those who give this place less than 5 stars must be having a bad day. Glad we decided to give it try vs going to some of the regular spots in town. The portion sizes and lack of care for the food has drastically decreased the last year. I was extremely disappointed with the deluxe burrito, it did not come as advertised. I ordered the queso dip as well, the lady forgot to bring it out. No big deal whatever, I reminded her. She brought it out finally after my meal and it was cold and chunky.... Like seriously the lack of care is just disgusting. It was 9 PM the restaurant closes at 10:30 and the entire time I was there I was rushed to leave. My waitress had an attitude and again just didn't seem to care. I won't be coming back. The food was terrible, go to Los Flores on Main Street instead. Fantastic food over there and fantastic service. Puerto Vallarta is a joke. Not to mention the restaurant had a terrible smell and wasn't very clean. read more

Great little meal while forced off the road in a snowstorm. Excellent customer service. All the necessary COVID-19 safety protocols. Reasonable price ($26 for two of us). As soon as we were seated we were brought a variety of salsa and warm chips. I went with the crab enchiladas and was very pleased. Really loved the white enchilada sauce! Rice and beans were good. The plate was HUMONGOUS!!! DH got the choice of 2 combo plate, cheese enchilada and beef taco. His meat was moist, but very subtly seasoned. (Waitress did say there was spicy version available. He went with 'regular'.) Probably the best Mexican we've had in Utah so far. (Keep in mind that bar is *very* low. Seems Utahns require very bland fare overall. I have only been to Puerto Vallarta Jalisco once and they was enough for me not to go there again. I did not like the lack of seasoning and taste of my food. I had mention it to a waiter and he was unresponsive to my comment about the lack of favor. The other concern was the price point was much too high for what I ordered. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys the wonder favor of Mexican food and fare prices. Sorry again but, I gave my opinion of the food and prices which I will not lie about in my own culinary opinion. My son is a chef and he would not send out food like this. Came in as a last minute thought as Im currently without a kitchen. Great decor and hostess was very prompt and friendly. Sat us at a large spacious table and our server Victor came over and took our drink order(they have a bar) he made some meal recommendations and took our order as we were served two different salsas and fresh warm chips. We also had table side fresh guacamole. With the amazing music in the background and this incredible food I will definitely come back! Nothing short of a 5 star restaurant. Everything was absolutely perfect down to the salsa and guacamole. The interior of the restaurant looked very nice and modern. The drinks were very delicious as well! Service was very attentive and they made sure we had everything and checked on us regularly! If I were staying at the Ramada, it would be perfectly serviceable and preferred to the other locations in walking distance (subway, Wendy's, Burger King, DQ, Dennys, etc). I had the #8 combo for lunch at $12.75. Corn tortilla wrapped around stringy chicken covered in a flavorless tomato sauce (enchilada), tasty pork verde wrapped in a small flour tans topped with green sauce (burrito) with standard beans and rice. The pork and exceptional service were how they got three stars. If you want some truly good Mexican food, you'll be getting in your car and heading for Main Street. read more

I don't write 1 star reviews lightly but this restaurant has gone completely downhill over the last several months. Around the time they renovated the interior is when the poor quality food and service started. My family and I travel through Cedar City frequently, and this was always our go-to spot for lunch. This past weekend was the last time we will ever go to this spot. The waiter vanished for over 20 minutes as we all sat with empty drinks and the now tiny tortilla chips bowl long emptied. When our food finally came out, it has clearly been sitting under the warmer long enough for the guacamole to turn brown and the sour cream was very warm. The food was bland. My Chimichanga was soggy and covered with some sort of tasteless red tomato sauce. There was no virtually cheese inside and none on top. We both had Margaritas. My husband ordered the Classic, I got the Silver Patron, excellent! Wasn't expecting to much from a restaurant located in a hotel lobby. WOW was I wrong!! The place was packed. They seated us very quickly. We were greeted by many of the staff. We ordered and being as busy as they were we expected to have to wait for a few extra minutes to get our order. Not so! Our food came out in a very reasonable time. It looked amazing! Art on the plate. The portion size was unreal. There plates are huge. They give you plenty. Took my first bite and was in love!! This is some if not, the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. I ordered the 2 crab meat enchiladas. They were so full of crab meat. It was delicious!! Every bite was a culinary experience. We think we have found our new go to dinner place in Cedar City.
