    carne asada & suadero

whenever i'm craving LA street tacos, i immediately go to this taco truck the suadero tacos are a must try here, they are so flavorful and juicy and never fail additionally, there are so many delicious condiments that you can add to your tacos especially the free guac!! parking in this area does kind of suck but sometimes you can get lucky with street parking if you want a taste of LA street tacos, this is the place to go

Food was great! There was a deal where if you buy 4 tacos, then you get an order of birria tacos for free. There was a good selection of meat. Tacos come with guacamole, onions, cilantro, green salsa, pico. I loved the birria tacos. Dipping the tacos into the hot consomme was something that I've never tasted before.

Tacos El Jefe SAVED ME last night! I had finished a shift at work and found myself hungry at 8:30pm. I was driving from downtown to my home in the West Adams area, so I didn't want to deviate from my route. Tacos El Jefe was perfectly located on Pico + Vermont, on my way home. Parking was tricky. Pico is a very busy street and finding a spot to park can be as rare as finding a hot dog salesman that uses venmo. There's a lot next to the truck, but it's reserved for 7/11 customers, they even have security! I parked there anyways, bought some sour patch kids, then headed to get tacos. To my surprise, they sold champurrado. I had been talking about it all shift long lol. I was happy. I ordered 3 tacos + the champurrado for a total of $6.50. The meattttttttty was amazingggggggg!!!!!!! Some of the best seasoning I've had from a taco truck! The tortillas get cold pretty fast, so that's the only way they could improve- make homemade tortillas. I loved the assortment of condiments they offered: about 5 salsas, lime, radish, and cucumbers. YUMMMMMMM!!! I would definitely come back here!

Excellent tacos! Full of flavor without the grease. Look closely, this taco truck offers more than just tacos. This taco truck has a huge arsenal of different authentic Mexican eats. Tortas, mulitas, quesadillas, nachos, French fries! This taco truck is not holding back it's punches. It's so damn good! The torta was hands down delicious! Top 3 best I've ever had. Soft warm toasted bread, al pastor and other fresh ingredients easily made it an instant hit. Good service, good ingredients, cooked excellent = great food.

I think when it comes to street tacos, El Jefe hits that perfect trifecta of taste, affordability, and convenience. Are the ingredients high quality? No. But are the tacos good? Yes. Is the price good? Yes. Is it convenient? Yes. Even when the line is long, the food comes out fast. It also helps that the salsas are delicious and they're very liberal with the amount limes, radishes, salsa, pickled onions, and etc. they give you. If it's not enough, just ask for more and they're more than happy to give it to you. In short, I highly recommend it if you're craving good, cheap al pastor tacos or al pastor nachos. Also... they're cash only, but the 7/11 next door has an ATM machine you can pull cash from.

wow!!! we got the carne asada fries ($10) lengua taco plate (came w 3 tacos & $10), & carne asada quesadilla (not pictured but $8). LET ME JUST SAY THIS IS MY FAVORITE TACO PLACE EVER!! they have free guac (i grab sm) & free cucumbers... their salsa is realllyyyy good and i think everything is just so yum. the lengua is sooo tender and so soft and just so good overall :*) i also came another time and got the birria tacos & it didn't come with consomé but it was sooo good too :D

    Burrito de asada

El burrito tenia mucho aceite no me lo pude comer esta bañado. I always go here but this time it was bad.

The tacos were really good, careful when ordering, they're bigger than your regular small tacos, the tortilla is pretty big and a lot of meat! Take a look:

Best carne asada nachos. Make sure you add the avocado. A whole in the wall but good especially if you're looking to grab late night.

Good food. Veggie burrito was really good. Wanted a bean burrito but didn't seem be on menu. Service was good and helpful. Ambiance is taco truck good. Nice seating, canopy, condiments, security guard. Maybe even a bathroom with service station nearby! English is good tho Spanish might be more appreciated.

Misnomer. When I saw the name of this food truck, I thought this might be Central American's "soul"…read morefood, but it was actually US Southern soul food with a little Latin twist. The only Latin American ingredients were tortilla, store-bought chips and their mango salsa (which was good). I like the idea of putting southern food in tortilla for convenient, food-truck dining, but I would expect a bit more blending of the two cuisines with its name. Zora Neale's Special: perfectly seasoned and grilled tilapia with greens (kale) and Mac n' cheese for $12. They serve it in a hamburger styrofoam box, so it looks rather small, but they load it and are very generous with the portions! I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I must say the greens and Mac n' cheese were quite salty, though. 3 Taco Special: your choice of chicken, beef brisket, fish and/or oxtail(!), which comes with store-bought chips and their mango salsa for $12. Each taco is regularly priced at $4. They allow you to order different kinds of meat per order, which is nice, but they didn't have oxtail at this time. :( The beef brisket was good, but again, a tad on the salty side. For sides, I tried the plantain chips and sweet potato fries. The plantain chips were not chips at all, but fried plantains, which were delicious, but we expected chips. The sweet potato fries were crispy and seasoned just right. I also ordered what I thought was watermelon juice, but it was really sugary lemonade with a few pieces of watermelon in it. Again, not what I was expecting. :/ The staff working in the truck was really nice, though, and tried to get orders out quickly.
