I hate to say it, but this truck has really gone downhill. They used to be my absolute favorite -- I would drive 45 minutes during COVID just to eat here. Every time I came to Stockton, I made sure to stop by for an al pastor and shrimp burrito because they were always so good and FAT. Today I drove from Lodi and left extremely disappointed. The cashier didn't charge me for my horchata, and the cook also missed a taco from my order. When I pointed it out, instead of acknowledging the mistake, he said, "She didn't charge you," even though she did -- I showed him the receipt. He then claimed it was the tax and tried to play it off like he was doing me a favor by giving me a taco "for free." Except... I paid for it. When I finally got my food, I took a bite of my burrito and found beans in it -- even though I specifically asked for no beans. On top of that, the burrito was noticeably smaller than what they used to serve. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Sadly, I won't be making the drive anymore. read more

Yesterday afternoon I went there and ordered four tacos: (2) Steak tacos & (2) Chorizo. When I got home I noticed that I had two steak, but did not know what the other two were. I remember the cashier asking me if I wanted regular or crunchy and due to the background noise I asked him to repeat what he said. He asked me again about regular or crunchy and again I said regular. So, I was telling my son how upset I was and he asked me how much was it and I said almost $14.00. He gave me the $14.00 and made me promise from now on to go to the one we always go to on March Lane/I-5. We always get the right order there!!! Wow, the most flavorful tacos I've had in a long time. Came here from a friends recommendation, heard it was a Stockton staple. The tacos are fire! I got the shrimp and Al pastor, and both were incredible. You can tell that the meat has been marinated for hours. So delicious. I love this taco truck, open late and have all the flavors packed. We came on a Tuesday and they had a taco Tuesday special. We got a asada burrito, and 3 tacos. The service was quick and took our order at the window and we went into the gas station, came back out and our food was ready so they gave us fresh grilled onions and jalapeños. Yummy. And they had a variety of salsas that I enjoyed. They have a Wednesday special as well. Any burrito for $10. I will be back to try it. This review is specifically for the El Mayita restaurant, not the taco truck. We stopped by and noticed a few people ahead of us placing orders, which felt like a good sign. The staff was friendly, and parking was easy with plenty of spots available. We ordered two quesadillas -- one chicken and one al pastor -- served with onions and cucumber on the side. We also got two aguas frescas de Jamaica, which were tasty and refreshing. The food itself was flavorful, though it did take a bit of time to come out. This definitely isn't a quick bite spot if you're on a time crunch. That said, the pricing is on the higher side for what you get. They also tack on a card fee but don't provide a receipt to show it, which felt a little shady. Unfortunately, while the food tasted good at first, it didn't sit well with our stomachs later on. It was my first time here & we ordered takeout. The Birria Platillo was delicious, we ordered the "wet" super burrito al pastor as well as their fish tacos. They also were tasty and delicious. It's always crispy, packed with meat, and the consumme is delicious. It's my favorite quesataco place in Stockton so far! The workers are nice. I like that they are open late so it's perfect when I want a late night meal. The horchata is okay. It tastes a bit too sweet and strong. A bit artificial. Customer service has definitely improved and the food is bomb. Pricing has gone up here but so has most restaurants. I would say with the good food and customer service on a consistent basis, I wouldn't see why this would be a 5 star hidden gem in Stockton soon... Hands down best Taco Truck recommended by my cousin. He was right when he said "The best in the west." The food was delicious and addictive. The service was friendly and fast. This is for the truck on hammer lane by Nissan and Walmart. This is the 3rd time this month where I got wrong order. I always order 3 burritos without hot sauce and the 3rd time I've gotten 3 burritos with hot sauce. My family can't eat spice so it's a waste of $45. Would not recommend this place. Husband got severe food poisoning. We have previously seen a food inspector show up at this location approximately a year ago checking the place out but didn't think anything of it. Now we will never go back to this food truck. I had lunch with my coworkers today. The wait wasn't too bad. They are one of the few trucks that actually have specials. On Tuesdays tacos are $2.00 each and on Wednesdays burritos are $10.00 which is a really good deal. The tacos were full of meat loaded with cilantro, onion, and salsa. The menu has lots of options. The parking lot is pretty big with lots of space for parking. They do not have a microphone so you really need to listen for your order number. Sadly, horchata and Jamaica drinks are $5.99. They're better than some of the al pastor I've had in Mexico City, and you know that's the home and birth place of the al pastor taco. I wanted them to cater a special event. They don't have a phone number listed so I reached out to them via DM from the Google feature. It said they usually reply in a few hours. I messaged them and gave details of the event and asked if they would be available to cater. I received a message with some profanity and along the lines of, 'your momma..." Tripa tacos: were mediocre for me. A bit on the harder and dry side with not as much flavoring but definitely had a ton of meat to top it off. Shrimp burrito: was delicious! Full of flavor and has got to be my favorite shrimp burrito ever! (we devoured it before we could take a pic) Birria tacos: fresh, hot, and delicious! This was definitely their money maker! I would come again just for this alone. Location: not in the best area of town, but easy to get to from the hwy so I can't complain.
