My husband got a cheese quesadilla with crema added all over the inside, and I got four of the tacos el pelon with Carne Asada, and all the beans and lettuce and stuff. This is a food trailer in a gas station parking lot in an old, somewhat sketchy part of Stockton. But who cares?!!! The food is awesome, the truck is spic-and-span clean, and the women working it are friendly, engaging, and helpful. My son and I stopped here on our way back to the Bay Area after a round of golf in Angels Camp. We both were in the mood for Mexican and this place showed up as the closest when we got into the Stockton area on Hwy 4. I am SO glad we stopped here! My son ordered a pollo asado super burrito. He couldn't stop raving about how good it was, plus it was HUGE. I ordered a super burrito bowl with carnitas. The meat was perfect! I always judge a Mexican place by how good their carnitas are. It has to have the right amount of salt and should have good chew from the flat top without being tough. Tacos El Pelon carnitas checked all the boxes!
