My husband and I had lunch from the Tacos El Pelon truck on Highway 88. I don't know which of the ones here on Yelp is that one so I just chose this one for my review. My husband got a cheese quesadilla with crema added all over the inside, and I got four of the tacos el pelon with Carne Asada, and all the beans and lettuce and stuff. They were the best tacos and the best quesadilla my husband ever had so it was a good deal too and we are so glad it's near our house.

I go to the Harding way/Waterloo location & it's always good!! The meats are always fresh...they add a little whole beans & a little bit of lettuce & sprinkled with queso fresco. Mmmmmm... They also give you grilled onions, grilled nopales, limes, cucumber, Serrano pepper,pickled carrots & a strip of queso fresco On the side!! Yep..you read that right. All reasonably priced. They have added a few new menu items that I can't wait to try.... I recommend you give this spot a try...even if it's out of your way a bit. I happily drive past plenty of taco trucks to get to this one. You won't regret it.

I've had the al pastor burrito twice this month! At first I ordered from DoorDash from Tacos El Pelon 3, then realized they had a truck 3 mins away. Super burrito for less than $11?! Wild. And it's so good and has plenty of meat. You definitely get a bang for your buck without skimping on flavor. read more

I ordered a Carne Asada burrito here and it was alright. I ordered it with green salsa and I wish it came on the side because I swear I only got one bite with the green salsa. The carne asada itself is really salty and I had SO many pieces of fat The cheese wasn't melted either which is disappointing Nor did they have refried beans. Tacos El Pelon is Nice truck trailer on Fairchild with outside seating. The guys and I stop by frequently for burritos, and I must say they taste way better than other taco trucks nearby. They'll give you extra salsa if you ask, and the meat is always fresh and delicious. Great customer service too! They also BBQ Thursday to Sunday with chicken and ribs. Don't miss out! read more

Had this place a couple weeks back an im drooling just thinking about it. I got two quesabirria tacos and a birria quesadilla and OH MY LANTA so amazing!! About 19 dollars for all of that and an extra side of consumé. And they didn't take too long to get my food out to me! They are right next to my house so I definitely will be back! read more

Stopped in on a road trip, and were pleasantly surprised by our burritos! I got a veggie burrito and it was delicious which shows their base food is flavorful. Husband got asada and said his was really yummy too. People working were friendly as well. Quick, good service, good food read more

My husband and I had lunch from the Tacos El Pelon truck on Highway 88. I don't know which of the ones here on Yelp is that one so I just chose this one for my review. This is a food trailer in a gas station parking lot in an old, somewhat sketchy part of Stockton. But who cares?!!! The food is awesome, the truck is spic-and-span clean, and the women working it are friendly, engaging, and helpful. My son and I stopped here on our way back to the Bay Area after a round of golf in Angels Camp. We both were in the mood for Mexican and this place showed up as the closest when we got into the Stockton area on Hwy 4. I am SO glad we stopped here! My son ordered a pollo asado super burrito. He couldn't stop raving about how good it was, plus it was HUGE. I ordered a super burrito bowl with carnitas. The meat was perfect! I always judge a Mexican place by how good their carnitas are. It has to have the right amount of salt and should have good chew from the flat top without being tough. Tacos El Pelon carnitas checked all the boxes! Definitely going to make this a regular stop when I'm in the area! read more

This place is perfect for drive up, order, tip, get food, nosh, and then reflect that you just had some bomb food. Perfect business model: quick and incredibly polite service, very clean kitchen, and lots of parking. I especially like all the extra garnishes and presentation is nice. More importantly the taste is ON, I had burrito with tripa, very savory and some slight crunch from the grill, IDK, but whatever, it satisfies. Good job Tacos El Pelon. read more

This review is for Tacos El Pelón 3 Ok let's start 1- food tacos regular: 60% 2- service: -50 3-food presentation: 80% This place is ok I was not impressed by the flavor of the beef and the salsa over their tacos the salsa was nowhere to be found, the shredded lettuce and grinned cheese overwhelmed and eclipsed the main ingredient which is the beef of a taco de carne azada!! Gave me the wrong Oder, they chased me down and made me feel like I was trying to steal from them. They were speaking Spanish to each other but I don't think they knew I'm bilingual. This is a nice clean little taco truck in kinda a sketchy part of town. It's in a gas station parking lot. The girls at the window were super nice and helpful. We got 2 burritos, it was ready in like 5 minutes and they were great! Really good tortillas, the burritos were huge and they didn't skimp on the fillings. We just had the pastor and carne asada this time but they have a couple of fun things like nachos and a hot Cheetos burrito that we'll have to try next time. read more

Wow! I was just expecting 3 tacos(meat,salsa,onion) but they went above & beyond. I'd have to say, such a great combo. The tacos were different than I expected but one bite changed my whole mind. Definitely recommend to try them out. They accept cash & cards so if you don't have cash then don't let that persuade your mind. Must try! read more

I love me a taco truck carne asada burrito supreme with no rice and beans. This one was great.... Usually, when u get no rice and beans, it may not seem big enough. But this one was LOADED with asada and was great. HOWEVER..... I wasn't expecting to pay $9 for a burrito and soda at a taco truck in south stockton. There are also no prices listed on the truck which makes it more difficult. read more

This place does not disappoint. I ordered two carne asada tacos, the bomb! Second order for my daughter was the Cabeza the meat was so soft and delicious. Lots of flavor in their meats. They load up the tacos with strips of nopales A little bulb of onion and some cheese strips the extras were awesome and I would definitely come back again when I'm driving through the 88. read more

There were several trucks including 3 taco trucks, Kosmos, Rolling Lumpia, Nikki's Create-a-bowl and 2 trucks that offered desserts. I can see this becoming a very happening spot as the weather warms up and I would love to see a little more variety the next time I go. The area is a little bit sketchy but once you're inside the gates, it's very clean with plenty of lighting. Also, there's parking in back if you're not comfortable parking on the street. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff immediately started whispering to each other and acting uncomfortable, almost like they didn't want to fulfill it. I told them I had two Surprise Bags to pick up. However, when it came time to hand me the food, I was told that the taco counted as one Surprise Bag and the quesadilla counted as the second. If that's how they structure their Surprise Bags, then I should have received two aguas frescas as well, being that the taco and quesadilla count as a "bag". Instead, I received only one drink. In total, I got one regular taco, one quesadilla, and one agua fresca for about $18. The value was nowhere near what I expected. To make matters worse, I drove out at 11 PM specifically to pick up this order. It ended up being a waste of time and money. The food wasn't bad, admittedly, but the staff made me feel like I was inconveniencing them simply by picking up an order they chose to offer through the app. To be clear, even if the taco and quesadilla technically met the value they intended to provide, the value I received was nowhere close to what I paid. The whole purpose of Too Good To Go is to receive surplus food at a discount. Based on what I was given, it felt like I paid regular menu price, or possibly more, for a taco, a quesadilla, and one drink. There was nothing about this order that felt like a discounted surprise bag. I contacted Too Good To Go, thankfully after explaining and photos, they issued a refund. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning or recommending this business. Totally could've been a great experience, and I wish it had been.
