One of the few taco spots that I love! The workers are always friendly and the service is usually fast. The only thing is that when you walk into the restaurant it's quite dark inside and I wish it was a little brighter but other than that it was great! There is a parking lot with ample space. I always get the beef steak and tripe. This place has been my go to! They usually put a lot in the taco so I get full pretty quickly with 2-3 tacos. The menu looks like there are lots of options to choose from. I would like to try other things out, but the beef steak and tripe never disappoints. This taco restaurant is close to my house so, it is super convenient. Come support this local small business! read more

This place so reminds me of home. Family owned and such a sweet staff they cook up Mexican favorites that are so delicious, so non midwestern in such a relaxed down home environment. It's like sitting in a grandmas kitchen and enjoying family favorites, in this case my family loves sopes, street tacos, queso barria and unbelievable burritos. A true Mexican restaurant has red and green salsa in bottles and home made salsa to dip chips in. Drinks come in bottles and the flavors will haunt you! Definitely one of my favorite taco spots in the Twin Cities! My dad used to take my brother and I to the New Hope food truck, so that already provides a nostalgic vibe, but nostalgia aside, the tacos here are actually pretty good and are authentic street tacos. The Asada, lengua and tripa are very flavorful, with a well balanced meat, topping, tortilla ratio. Also, the green and red salsas are both spicy (not just "Minnesota Spicy") which I love! It's all counter serve but there's seats scattered throughout the small restaurant. Also, a small lot is available in front. Would recommend a visit to the restaurant or the food truck if you get the chance! read more

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. We stopped in on our way to a family members house and ordered to go. It wasn't too busy and there was maybe one order before me but it took a significant amount of time before our order was done. When I got to the car to check the order we realized we were missing something. I went back in and the guy at the front was adamant they made the dish and gave it to me. I had to go back out to my car and bring the bags back inside so he could check. After confirming we didn't receive the order, they started making it. Another 10-15 min later I was out the door again. My mom's fish tacos didn't have much meat in them. It was mostly breading. The choriqueso was unique. Not like any other queso dip I've had, however it tasted good. The nachos lacked cheese and weren't my favorite. The alambres were okay but the carnitas were tasty. Shortly after eating, though, we all started to feel nauseous and sick. It lasted all night and into the next morning. We won't be going back. read more

The people working are nice. The place is clean. The ambiance makes it clear take-out is the norm. The food, a big no. It was so, so greasy and the meats cooked into an unrecognizable mess with indistinguishable flavors. We will not return for a second chance meal, which we will often do if the meal is inconsistent. The cabesa is the best I've ever had. Imagine what you wish pot roast tasted like ... in heaven. Well, that's what it's like. On the down side, the tripas are not crunchy as I like them, but still flavorful. For Minnesotans that are unfamiliar, these are called "chitlins" when you can find them elsewhere, which is not often. My favorites are at Gileberto's in Blaine. Another plus for this place: they give you a couple squeeze bottles of sauce. Much more civilized than a portion-control dingus you have to dribble out of. My current favorite taco spot! The tacos were delicious! The service was great! Those that are wondering they've taken over Gramskys. The restaurant spacing is comfortable. We opted to dine in and ordered plentiful of food. Each item was hand delivered to us and the staff were even kind enough to give us cups of water and we never had to ask. Tacos aren't cheap so I guess the pricing is fair and is about the same prices as El Hornito. Food came quick, only about a 7-8min wait.. and considering how much we ordered that was quick! They also gave us plenty of limes ... unlike El Hornito who only gave me 2 limes when I ordered 5 tacos. read more

Written on the window "without tacos, there is no paradise" is fitting for this newer restaurant. The meats are extremely well prepared and the non-meat protein options are good (tofu, rice/bean). The taco preparation is simple: meat, onion, and cilantro on a soft corn tortilla, served with limes. In addition to trying a few types of tacos, we also tried a burrito--which was about as big as a Chipotle burrito--and got the kids quesadillas. Everything tasted great. Their creamy tomatillo/chile salsa is excellent. We also sampled the fresh horchata (amaaaazing!) and hibiscus drink. The staff we interacted with were either native English-speakers or fluent. They had staff cleaning tables the entire time we were there. This is a great addition to the local restaurant scene and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu. read more

I was eager to try this location since I have bought food from their food truck in New Hope. So when you come through the door it's nothing really special, but still not bad at all. I was looking for the menu and the gentleman that greeted me told me to look at their full menu on the menu board. I ordered their street tacos with chicken and they had lots of drink options but none that I was familiar with however I found a lemon bottled drink that look good so I figured I would give it a try. I sat down at the table, it wasn't cleaned off from the last person who sat down, and there was no one else in the restaurant so not sure why it wasn't cleaned off. My order was brought out to me really quick, I tried the tacos and they were delicious, and my drink wasn't bad at all. However I prefer water, or juice and the drink I received was more like soda pop. Spoke with the gentleman at the counter, he said they had only been open for 3 weeks, well if it hadn't been for the lack of drink selections, and the dirty table I would have given them 5 stars. I will revisit to see if things have changed, and almost forgot their mild sauce with the street tacos was very good, can't wait to stop in again to see what they have to offer. read more

So happy this opened here, a much needed authentic taco shop in this area. We are constantly looking for good taco places since moving from So. California and this is by far the best taco shop we've found in Minneapolis, and it happens to be down the street! I cannot recommend it enough if you are craving tacos. You can eat in or get it to go...we got our order to go and it only took them about 5-10 minutes to make our whole order from scratch. We had chorizo, carnitas, beef & bean, and steak tacos. They were all delicious and the green and red salsas were also delicious with the perfect level of spice. We also got chips and guacamole and it was a really good amount of chips and guac for the price. We will absolutely be back (probably at least once a week!). I only wish they were part of a delivery program (if possible), we'd probably order from them more often then. read more

These are some of the best tacos around her used to eat at the food truck and I was so sad when I didn't see it over there anymore. They do make vegetarian tacos which is beautiful the only thing that's a little disappointing as they never have the jalapeño and cheese tamales they should probably take them off the menu but other than that they are so kind so nice and the food is always delicious. I have decided to change their rating. One of the things that can be most frustrating is when you close but your door says 9. Google says 8:30. It's 8:16. This is the 2nd time. At least make your doors the correct time. Or post a sign that says winter hours. It's a big turn off. I grew up in Brooklyn Center move to South Minneapolis many years ago move back on this side of town to live in Brooklyn Park. I used to live in South Minneapolis near Richfield, there's a lot of Mexican restaurants in that area. there are really good ones. This restaurant I have to say is very good it really over takes the authentic taste and flavor of Mexican food more than anything I have ate in South Minneapolis or Richfield or even West Saint Paul. This is a very good restaurant and I will be continuing to come here. The only thing is they could have beef enchiladas they only have chicken enchiladas Friday and Saturday only, but other than that they are a really good restaurant their flavors are really on spot and the owners and workers seem to be very very nice. read more

I am from Houston Texas and I spent a lot of time in Mexico. The food here brought me back to my childhood. It's a hole in the wall but the ambiance feels like home. The staff was absolutely kind and very nice. The food was amazing and the salsas were to die for. The prices were on par with what we expected. It has been difficult to find delicious authentic Mexican food but this place exceeded my expectations. It was all absolutely phenomenal and I will definitely be coming back for more. read more

We decided to try this little divey place next to my favorite place. Very authentic looking when it comes to decorating. They had some music videos playing on a small TV in the corner. Now here's why they received 4 instead of 5 stars. The guy taking our order seemed extremely annoyed with us being there. Basically rolled his eye every time we ordered an item. They bring your food to the table. It's served on a styrofoam plate with some wrapped plastic ware. I got 2 tacos. 1 steak and one chorizo. The flavor was on point. Shells we very authentic with a good flavor. It was a combo platter so I got a small scoop of rice and beans. The rice was dry but had amazing flavor. The beans well they were beans. I ordered a side of guacamole. Probably one of the best I've had. I brought the extras home. Jenna had 2 tacos also. She had barbacoa and chicken. The chicken was really good. Remember to put a little lime on it. She also got carne asada fries. Wow! Huge portion with exceptional flavor. This place is a must. Even the crabby employee couldn't ruin the food. read more
