Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time... and it's inside a gas station…read more @elgordobros I stopped by El Gordo Bros and was seriously impressed with everything I tried. Every dish tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Service was fabulous! Started with their house-made guacamole & pico de gallo, which were both super fresh and the perfect way to kick things off. I also tried the elote, which was packed with flavor, and the fish taco, which was light, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The King Taco was another standout, and I really loved the queso birria taco; so rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great birria taco. And you can't leave without trying their horchata, which was the perfect refreshing drink to go with all the food. I also had the opportunity to try their Baja fish taco which was another stand out for me! The fish was light, the Baja sauce was so flavorful and delish! What makes this spot even more unique is that their locations are actually inside QuickStop gas station market, which makes it such an unexpected gem. Their first location started near the King of Prussia area, and they now have a few locations in the area; including this one in Collegeville. Just goes to show that sometimes the best food can come from the most unexpected places. If you see El Gordo Bros while you're stopping at QuickStop... trust me, it's worth it.

Situated on a small main ave plot, with adequate parking and a stones throw away from the perkiomen trail, el Gordo bros provides the fuel you need for a quick pick me up, a burst of energy or a drunken stomach screaming for nutrition on a late night. And don't get me wrong, this is more than just your standard hangover preventing college fare; this is quality food at a price that even mass market fast food eateries (chipotle? Taco Bell? Heck even McDonald's) can't compete with. Made with love, curated to make your taste buds do the cha cha, el Gordo bros is on my save save save list!

Very underrated guac I ate the whole thing! 8.3/10 Rice and Beans: we thought this came with the tacos but it was extra. Definitely worth it as a side though. Both were perfectly cooked and had great flavor to accompany the tacos. 8.1/10 Bbq pork / Al pastor Super Taco: definitely make every taco a super taco. Comes with extra cheese and the meat was so tender. 8.6/10 Franks Fish Taco: my favorite thing here. The fish was loaded up and was fried to perfection. The sauce on it accompanied the tacos so well and the onions, tomatoes and cilantro made it super refreshing and not feel too heavy. 8.7/10 Quesabirria taco: wish it came with extra consumé, but the consumé that was on the taco was exceptional. Meat was very tender and flavorful with decent portion. 8.4/10 Overall 8.4/10. They even have a taco Tuesday where each regular taco is $1 each. Definitely hitting that up soon. The staff was so friendly and caring with great service.

Not sure why they dont just package the consome with the barria tacos to keep it enclosed. Container leaked consome out into the bag like 4/6 orders. TERRIBLE track record. Good food tho. Terrible packaging for delivery.

After a long day in the heat with outdoor chores, we knew we needed food but had little motivation for anything. We mustered up the energy to grab a quick early bite last Saturday. We arrived at El Guacamole at 5:30pm and were self sat, to the small two-seater in the back. This restaurant is teensy 8-10 tables. Our waitress was smiley and kind. And patient, because I was confusing her on my asking for just cups with ice. We had our bevy bag for their BYOB, so wanted to cool our seltzers down. Lots of guacs to their namesake- so we decided to try the trio. We sampled the tropical, cheese and habanero. They were all delicious. Clean, chunky, bright. Tropical was the fav. (As we go on- FRESH is the theme here.) My husband, again being adventurous ordered the Mojarra à la Diabla and I the Jarocho Shrimp Cocktail. The Diabla sauce was asked on the side. And we are sooooo happy for that. Not just because if it was all over the fish, it would've been too hot for my husband- No. This sauce was Incredible!!! For me- perfect spice level. Spicy, a bit smokey, had kick but a mellow onion base. I kid you not- I had this sauce on everything for 3 days later (on eggs, salmon and potatoes). I die for this sauce! The fish was crispy, a tad dry but tasty. The sides were good and rice was not sticky. My Jaroocho was incredible! Soooooo fresh. It was exactly what I wanted to eat. It tasted like a gazpacho and shrimp ceviche made a beautiful family but with chunkier cucumber, tomatoes and onions. The tomato sauce was light but rich. I took leftovers and it undoubtedly even tasted better the next day. Go to El Guacamole and get anything with their bright, beautiful avocados. Well anything at all, because I am sure every dish must be wonderful. We can't wait to come back and try more!! Bravo!

The tacos were three uncooked (not hot at all) soft shells with chicken(very overcooked), onions and maybe peppers (not enough to taste or even see). I would up sick all night and for the price ($25) I could have gone to Taco Bell for cheaper with same results. I will never recommend or eat here again.
