Great Mexican food spot. Food was great and the portions are so huge, they are 2-3 meals. Service was very attentive. We really enjoyed the cocktails, the skinny Margarita and the berry mule. Went for dinner tonight 7/17/2026 waited at the bar 27 minutes ignored to be waited on mean while people around me seated after myself had drinks chips salsa and orders taken during the 36 minutes I waited. People after me we already eating and still after 36 minutes I still didn't have a glass of water or even ordered ! After 40 minutes I was brought sink water warm with lemon no ice , No chips no salsa 48 minutes later my food comes out it was ice cold and greasier than one can digest imagine Exxon Valdez special ! Mean while I was seated at the bar it was filthy and sticky from spilled drinks and covered with food no one washed the area down after 54 minutes wasted finally got someone to take the food away and left will not be back ever again ! We had reservations at Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant at 4:30 today (Easter Sunday). When we arrived, the door was locked, but a man came to the door, opened it, and told us they decided to close early and had posted it on Facebook. I told him I had a reservation and showed it on my phone with my phone number listed. They could have called to let us know instead of having us drive there. As we were leaving, they let three other people in, which was very disappointing. We ended up going to Firebirds instead, and the food and service there were very good. 5/16/25 we visited at lunch. I have been to Plaza Aztecas in KoP which is a much more beautiful restaurant in my opinion. I thought the hostess wasn't very friendly and our waiter didn't know the menu. He seemed good in the beginning of the meal then was gone long periods of time. He did check back after we were served. Then he was MIA. We flagged down a manager for to go containers. We told the server we were finished and again he's standing around not bringing our check- so once again after waiting a while I had to get up and go to the hostess stand to find our waiter. This is in an empty restaurant. I ordered the enchiladas suizas as which was average at best- not flavorful really. My friends food did not look appetizing. I wouldn't bother going back. The service was terrible- the interior is dingy to me. Mexican restaurants are usually beautiful and colorful. I wish I would've gone to Rey Aztecas instead. Much better service, atmosphere and food. Based on average food-poor service in an empty restaurant- dingy interior- I wouldn't bother going back. Plus the unfriendly staff- do yourself a favor and drive out to Rey Aztecas it's much better in every aspect. read more

Our meal & margarita were great, but bartender service a bit slow. However, the problem was we were still enjoying a meal at the bar and an employee decides to start scrubbing the floor with chemicals and a mop. This forced me to pack up and go. It smelled so bad and they were scraping the floor all around us and then mopping too. It was only 8pm and they were open until 9:30pm. I will not be back! I was excited to see "coming soon" sign in Collegeville (we live 5 minutes away). We were quite disappointed with food. The tropical ceviche was really bland, didn't taste like anything. Great place, but very busy probably because they just opened several weeks ago! We were fortunate to get seats at the bar since the wait was 45 minutes. We've eaten at other Plaza Asteca's in the area but first time at this location. This location was previously a different Mexican restaurant, so the indoors still had a nice Mexican vibe to it. I wish they took reservations but they do not. We had to wait about 40 minutes during dinner hour. While the menu was similar to other locations, there were some differences. Some of the drinks we found at other locations were not on this menu and we found a few items on this menu that we didn't find on others like taquitos. I think our waitress struggled with English a bit and we found ourselves repeating or pointing to items on the menu. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. While the food came out very fast, it all came out together, which I was not happy with. But the food was good and on par with their other locations. We will be back! read more

My wife and I came back to try restaurant after we couldn't get in on Cinqo de Mayo. The staff was nice but seemed confused at times. I ordered Camarones Roca and for some reason there were black seeds sprinkled all over them. I don't eat seeds and these were not mentioned on the menu. Very unnecessary. My wife ordered side of black beans. They arrived with a covering of melted cheese. She doesn't eat cheese. Again, not mentioned on menu. Dinner was very good and huge portions. This place used to be really good but it has gone downhill quite a bit since my last visit. This is my fifth visit and was very different this time. Service was really slow and especially when we finished dinner and sat forever waiting to cash out. Waitress never even came oround and asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Before a manager was always present and asking if everything was OK but tonight we could not find a manager when we really needed one. Not sure if I will be going back and giving them another chance. Look I love eating at plaza but we've ordered door dash multiple times from here and it has been a disaster every time - we ordered two fajita trays with extra shrimp extra steak and extra chicken.. I got three pieces of steak and NO SHRIMP - we also received three corn tortillas for two orders of fajitas.. Bad service, ruined the experience. Asked for table side quac and they plopped down a bowl of ready made. Got our food shortly after our "table side" quac was delivered. Couldn't eat food because we had no silverware. Asked 3 times before some was brought to us. Meal tasted really good so that's why at least 2 stars. Waiter gave us a Togo bag and cleared our empty plates. We asked for the check then waited 10-15 minutes. Asked again and then waited another 10 minutes. Considered dine and dash tbh. Stopped the waiter again and he was like "oh you want the check?" Like sir, yes. We asked twice already. Music was really loud. Apparently if it's your birthday they play a very loud bday song. I came here tonight to try their tequila flights, they are definitely worth it! Presentation and atmosphere is great, however I did sit at the bar for almost 20 minutes before I got served, then some lady comes in and sits a couple seats away from me and the same worker that passed by me 5x greeted her and ask if she needed anything . First the food was decent about the same as the KOP location but not as good as Exton. I was here twice, it seems as if the right side of the restaurant is off limits during lunchtime. The service is good but they seem very stingy with the napkins. With sloppy food like fajitas tacos etc. they should be on the table readily accessible for spills etc. I had to ask twice for napkins and they bought like three tiny ones. The booths were very uncomfortable barely room to move. Inside looks like they kept the wallpaper from the former restaurant but took all the cool skulls lizards and Mexican designs off of the wall. Food was delish and my margarita very strong (make a note of that when ordering). Margaritas are not cheap but they are worth the price. Empanadas were delicious and my husband and I were split in which were better, I loved the beef and he loved the chicken (they gave us two of each). Cheese queso is like (if not actually is), melted American, so if you are spice averse this is the way to go. Street corn was a nice light appetizer. read more

The corn-tortilla tacos were generously filled, which was nice, but they were served with only one tortilla each (should be two), and so they were falling apart everywhere. The salsas served with the a generous helping chips also tased and looked like stuff you would buy in a jar at the Acme. I thought the mayo dip for the appetizer was spicy ranch and for my nachos there were only 10 chips with every thing piled on each chip separate from each other and I asked for no peppers but they added extra peppers!!!!!!!!!!!!
