5/16/25 we visited at lunch. I have been to Plaza Aztecas in KoP which is a much more beautiful restaurant in my opinion. I thought the hostess wasn't very friendly and our waiter didn't know the menu. He seemed good in the beginning of the meal then was gone long periods of time. He did check back after we were served. Then he was MIA. We flagged down a manager for to go containers. We told the server we were finished and again he's standing around not bringing our check- so once again after waiting a while I had to get up and go to the hostess stand to find our waiter. This is in an empty restaurant. I ordered the enchiladas suizas as which was average at best- not flavorful really. My friends food did not look appetizing. I wouldn't bother going back. The service was terrible- the interior is dingy to me. Mexican restaurants are usually beautiful and colorful. I wish I would've gone to Rey Aztecas instead. Much better service, atmosphere and food. Based on average food-poor service in an empty restaurant- dingy interior- I wouldn't bother going back. Plus the unfriendly staff- do yourself a favor and drive out to Rey Aztecas it's much better in every aspect.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is fresh and not too much cilantro like other places. They give you a ton of food. The ribeye fajitas are amazing! Fresh guacamole is delicious.

I was excited to see "coming soon" sign in Collegeville (we live 5 minutes away). We were quite disappointed with food. The tropical ceviche was really bland, didn't taste like anything. The enchiladas was just okay. Mexican fried rice looked nothing like the picture. King of Prussia location is way better.

Great place, but very busy probably because they just opened several weeks ago! We were fortunate to get seats at the bar since the wait was 45 minutes. The margaritas were excellent and not filled with a lot of ice! The food was tasty- hot and fresh. The bartender was very attentive and friendly. She made excellent margaritas!

We've eaten at other Plaza Asteca's in the area but first time at this location. This location was previously a different Mexican restaurant, so the indoors still had a nice Mexican vibe to it. I wish they took reservations but they do not. We had to wait about 40 minutes during dinner hour. While the menu was similar to other locations, there were some differences. Some of the drinks we found at other locations were not on this menu and we found a few items on this menu that we didn't find on others like taquitos. I think our waitress struggled with English a bit and we found ourselves repeating or pointing to items on the menu. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. While the food came out very fast, it all came out together, which I was not happy with. But the food was good and on par with their other locations. We will be back!

Good food and big portions. Service is kinda lacking. Kids meal was $12 for easy mac. Also no crayons for kids.

Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time... and it's inside a gas station…read more @elgordobros I stopped by El Gordo Bros and was seriously impressed with everything I tried. Every dish tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Service was fabulous! Started with their house-made guacamole & pico de gallo, which were both super fresh and the perfect way to kick things off. I also tried the elote, which was packed with flavor, and the fish taco, which was light, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The King Taco was another standout, and I really loved the queso birria taco; so rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great birria taco. And you can't leave without trying their horchata, which was the perfect refreshing drink to go with all the food. I also had the opportunity to try their Baja fish taco which was another stand out for me! The fish was light, the Baja sauce was so flavorful and delish! What makes this spot even more unique is that their locations are actually inside QuickStop gas station market, which makes it such an unexpected gem. Their first location started near the King of Prussia area, and they now have a few locations in the area; including this one in Collegeville. Just goes to show that sometimes the best food can come from the most unexpected places. If you see El Gordo Bros while you're stopping at QuickStop... trust me, it's worth it.

Situated on a small main ave plot, with adequate parking and a stones throw away from the perkiomen trail, el Gordo bros provides the fuel you need for a quick pick me up, a burst of energy or a drunken stomach screaming for nutrition on a late night. And don't get me wrong, this is more than just your standard hangover preventing college fare; this is quality food at a price that even mass market fast food eateries (chipotle? Taco Bell? Heck even McDonald's) can't compete with. Made with love, curated to make your taste buds do the cha cha, el Gordo bros is on my save save save list!

Visited for Dinner …read more... I sat at the bar and the place was a bit loud with World Cup Soccer on. The place is a bit worn And could probably use a face lift. The service was great and everything came out hot. I had the El Mocajete. The dish was loaded with meat and shrimp. It had a very good tasting sauce. I passed on rice and beans. I requested a side of veggies and they said yes. They tasted very good also. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to visit again soon

Cold, rainy, and we were already in King of Prussia .... twist my arm for a margarita! (I'm always…read moreup for a good margarita.) 3:30 Saturday, and the place was packed. Plaza Azteca is reliably good, and late lunch/early-geriatric-dinner made sense. Margaritas, yum. I've learned to stick to frozen strawberry, not overly sweet but fruity. A neighboring table ordered what looked like a milkshake. Nope, pina colada, which I note here as a reminder to try next time. Calories be damned! We started with guacamole made tableside. This was almost twice the size (plus better and cheaper) than what we recently had in Manhattan. My husband's main was what they call a "loaded" chili relleno with chicken. The doughy coating overpowered the chili. I thought it mediocre. I went with chori pollo: grilled chicken, topped with chorizo. I enjoyed it -- plenty to take home -- but the chorizo was milder than what I've had here before. Needed more zing. As said, we like this restaurant. While not five stars, four is nothing to sneeze at!
