I came here years ago and was so excited to find a great mexican spot in the area. Recently came back again and they are still fire. Wife and I initially ordered 4 tacos as just a snack while walking by but... ended up getting 3 more LoL Hard to go wrong with anything on the menu but their tacos are great. I usually don't comment on the tortillas unless they're bad but these ones were so gooooood. the texture and crisp were perfect. Also, GET THE LENGUA for your tacos. the others were great but lengua was the winner for me. If you're scared to try lengua (which is tongue), suck it up and try it please. Tongue is a muscle like many other meats but has a tender, juicy, bouncy texture and they cook it with perfect seasoning. Will def be back! read more

I got beans & rice ($5.50), guacamole ($12), and a CHICKEN cemita ($12) for what should've been $29.50, but when I said takeout they added an additional $8.50 for a total of $38 which I was unaware of until I got the bill. It was a waste of my money and immediately regretted it. I was really disappointed with the food I got here. The rice and beans tasted horrible. It tasted like the prepackaged microwaveable food that you could get in bulk. It lacked taste and culture. The guacamole tasted very artificial like concentrated lime juice and very overpowered with cilantro. The chicken cemita was tough, dry, and made me sick. The chicken didn't even look like chicken. It was completely inedible. It sat in a ball on the floor because I was so disappointed and couldn't even build the courage to finish it. We've ordered from here a few times already. Someone suggested this spot to hubbs so we tried them out and they are a solid Mexican restaurant. The food is fresh and the staff does their best to make sure your order is correct. There was even one instance where my delivery order was wrong and when we called, the woman to whom we gave our order, admitted to and apologized for the mix up and sent over the right dish straight away with a sorry note and smiley face. Sometimes it's the small things that make or break a customer's perception of a business. All of their food has been great. We've tried quite a few things from their menu and they're not stingy with the condiments. We usually pick up food or get delivery because they have a small dining room. Highly recommend. We were craving tamales and they didn't disappoint. Had the green (chicken) and the red (pork) as well as corn (sweet plain). The Pozole had mint and pork soup and the Beef soup with two short ribs was highly recommended by a family member. Tons of sauces and accompaniments. Everything was absolutely delicious. Solid delicious tacos! Do not expect anything glamorous as it's all very fast and taken out. We ordered the al pastor, chicken and chorizo. Al pastor was the best as it was very flavorful. The tortillas are also excellent as they are freshly made and you're able to taste that flavor once you bite into one of their tacos. Calling to place the order was a little difficult wish they were on GrubHub or other internet ordering site. Also their site would not load and the menu on AllMenus was not entirely accurate. Love this place. Little spot, I think run by a family, really make you feel like you are eating at one of the places where the Spanish food came from. Not a fancy place, no dressing code, no official host, but good Spanish food always fresh and always delicious. My favorite are their Chicken Quesadilla, Tacos, and Nachos. Not to bash Yonkers, but it seems like a town where the culinary attractions (among other things) are few and far between. Driving around, looking for lunch I passed by Tacos El Poblano and thankfully decided to give it a shot. I have not tried much from their menu - various tacos and the huevos con chorizo for breakfast one morning. As others have stated the ingredients are fresh and everything is well prepared. My only (albeit minor) complaint is that I'd like a lime in lieu of lemon on the side. That being said, the reason this place really shines is that the portions are HUGE, and that says a lot in a cusine not known for being skimpy. I'd normally order 3 tacos for lunch while here I only require 2 (though get 3 anyway because I can't control myself). The huevos con chorizo had me absolutely stuffed all day, I don't think I even ate dinner that night. Further kudos for having a hot sauce (the red one) that's actually hot. Oh my god this is my New Mexican spot. Authentic Mexican food, the sauce, food, natural drinks are very fresh. Service was excellent. Restaurant was clean a quiet. It hast it's own parking space. I'm Dominican and this spot is great. Price was fair for the amount of food. Guac was very good. Had the fajita, my husband had the fish and my son had chicken tacos and Everything was good. I am very excited to have found this place. It is very much a hole in the wall but it is authentic - I knew as soon as I opened the door and the mariachi music was blasting. The waitresses were very friendly but did not take any slack from rowdy customers. As for the food, I had chicken and al pastor tacos and enjoyed both very much. I would recommend using the green hot sauce as well, its very flavorful and very spicy. My girlfriend had the chicken fajitas and came away satisfied. Came here tonight for a quick and cheap dinner and boy was this amazing! We ordered 3 soft tacos - carnitas pollo and alambre and all three were super yummy. Especially with the green hot sauce and sour cream on top. Ended with their Mexican hot chocolate which was very interesting and tasty. And finally the flan with coconut pieces at the bottom. They have gone completely downhill. I ordered delivery; it took over an hour to arrive; my order was wrong. Called to correct and they argued with me that I ordered the wrong food and told me it would be another 45 minutes and they wanted their food back. Eventually cancelled my order told them to come get their food and bring me my money back-which it took them 1 hour 20 minutes to come and get. Okay, so I have been looking for a legit Mexican spot up here in Yonkers and it has been found! Their torta milanesa de pollo and torta de chorizo taste great and the green and red sauce to put on top is delishh! I've eaten here several times, and the first couple times were pretty good. But since that first few times the food got worse and worse. They don't speak english, which kinda pisses me off, but certainly not a deal breaker. The quesadillas suck, real low quality grissley meat and all but no cheese. everything just tastes real cheap. Here is the reason I will absolutely never order from this place again. The delivery drivers are straight up incompetent rude assholes. EVERY SINGLE TIME I've order from here, the driver will call me and say he is outside. I go outside and he's not there. Then I call him and he says he'll be there in 5 minutes. So I wait 5 minutes and nothing. Call him back and he starts yelling at me. Then the kicker. I come back outside and he yells at me to come get the food from him sitting in the front seat of his car. From the outside, it looks a bit shady (essentially just a painted green, 1 story cinder block addition to the more formal (and affiliated) La Fonda Poblano restaurant next door. It is worth a visit! Super cheap, high quality, traditional dishes. The best mole sauce I have ever had. All sorts of neat sodas I have never seen at other local Mexican restaurants. Good service too! Easy to miss depending on which direction you are coming from and parking is a bit limited. If you are in the area, make sure to take a quick walk north on New Main Street to the Orza bakery for incredible (and cheap) fresh baked bread. Not as fancy inside as the nearby Plaza Garibaldi a few doors down, but the food at Tacos El Poblano is better and cheaper. read more

Typically, on a taco Tuesday I would stay home and make them from scratch. This time we decided to try a Mexican restaurant. I have nothing but a positive experience to share. When we first sat down, we got serviced very quickly. We started our order with two old fashioned glass cokes. We started with the Guacamole, and it was good fresh and tasty. It had lots of juicy tomatoes and onions which made it taste even better. We like our guacamole spicy, so the waiter recommended that we add their red sauce, it was perfect. I ordered the steak tacos, and I was not disappointed. The meat was well cooked and very tender. Each order came with three tacos. Surprisingly, they were nice and full of ingredients. Steak, cheese, onions and peppers, I was full by the end of the second taco. My sister ordered the steak fajitas, and it did not disappoint either. The plate came out sizzling, the steak was wonderfully marinated, and the sauce was oh so yummy.  The best thing about this plate was that the fajitas were made with fresh masa, I ordered a second set of tortilla to go with the meal of how good they were. Next time and there will be a next time I plan to order the enchiladas. My final verdict is that this place is a great find and will soon become a jewel of the area. Please support them as the food is delicious. My friend grew up in Southern California and knows great Mexican food and she just put Tacos El Poblano on her small exclusive list of Mexican places to visit in NY. read more

The hot sauce was very hot, a nice surprise. If you are just getting tacos they are fairly cheap. The nachos were a bit pricey at $10. Don't judge the place by looks though. Absolutely the WORST. Just bad, bad food. Service is horrible and God forbid you order for delivery. Tough, boiled meat.. Quesadilla's that are moist, sticky tortillas with the same tough boiled meat in them; no cheese. We gave this place chance after chance; ordering from them and even visiting for a little over a year. Finally, we didn't just get sick of the horrible food, we got insulted.
