Tule & Tule Fish burritos, Grilled Stuffed Cruncher time!
    Mojdeh S.

How I heard of this place: My sister loves Tacos el Tule and recommended it during the pandemic as a great spot to grab food to go. We decided to try it again for our weekday picnic lunch. Type of cuisine: Street tacos, burritos, quesadillas and other similar offerings of Mexican cuisine. Ambiance: A bright yellow food truck, parked at a downtown corner diagonally across the street from the Whatcom Museum, they offer one folding table with four chairs for those wishing to eat outside rather than take their selections to go. What I ordered: On this trip, we selected the Tule Burrito ($9.50) - Flour tortilla, Rice, Pinto Beans, Meat, Onions, Cilantro, Lettuce, Cheese, Pico De Gallo, Avocado, Sour Cream, Jalapeños & Salsa; the Tule Fish Burrito ($9.50) - Flour tortilla, Rice, Pinto Beans, Fried Fish, Onions, Cilantro, Lettuce, Cheese, Pico De Gallo, Avocado, Sour Cream, Jalapeños & Salsa; and the Grilled Stuffed Cruncher ($9.50) - Grilled Flour Tortilla, Refried Beans, Meat, Cheese, Salsa, Crispy Tostada Shell, topped with Sour Cream, Pico De Gallo & More Cheese. In our group, we also had a chicken quesadilla, a Vegan Burrito and another Tule Burrito. What I loved: The large portions (burritos) make for a truly satisfying meal, while the kick of spice is a surprising and yummy touch. The Tule Burrito with chicken was a bit dry, but the flavors nice, and the fish was quite fishy (maybe fresh lime juice would help?), but moist and flavorful. Why I loved it: We love supporting local and immigrant businesses and it was a beautiful day to support this one. Thank you for the friendly faces, the smiles and the yummy food. Cost: Low to average

This food truck, located in downtown Bellingham in the parking lot of Accurate Lock and Security, provides great tacos and burritos at affordable prices. The burritos tend to be small, but are rich in flavor. There is also limited outdoor seating and the lines could get long during lunch hours.

Delicious typical inexpensive street tacos. Good location close to the courthouse. Yum!

Crispy chipotle burrito with pastor is the best thing you can do for yourself today

What are you doing if you're not eating a crispy chipotle burrito for lunch? This is the kind of burrito where you accidentally ate some of the foil from the wrapper because you couldn't unwrap your burrito fast enough. This is the kind of burrito that you eat ever day for lunch and you ask your self "should I really order this for the fourth time this week?" and you order it anyways because you realize this is self care. Do yourself a favor this week and order a crispy chipotle burrito. (If you aren't a spice person just get a normal rule burrito and you'll be golden) A fat burrito for $7 and super friendly staff will keep Tule my favorite lunch spot. Bring a little cash to tip these guys!

A fish burrito that is full of just warm beans :-(
    Nadia M.

I tried the fish burrito and was very disappointed with how dry and luke- warm it was. I had one bite of the fish and the rest was full of beans that were barely warm, not warm enough to warm up the cheese :-(

Looks like a hole in the wall from outside which we know is usually where good food comes from but talk about sketch and questionable. Hard to navigate small lot. Park in back where someone appears to be looking for drugs in grass around cars. Someone is beating carpets outside with gloves on. We see a few people on patio and in the weird area through the entryway window sitting to eat. They close at 10. We showed a little after 8. Confused walking into a small market and where to order, we turn toward the meat counter. There's a register. You hear voices but no people to be seen. There's a limited menu above meat counter. We stood awkwardly waiting. The person beating the carpets walls in from back with gloves still on and pushes past us. Doesn't say a word. Stands in front of register and just stares loathing us. Awesome start. I ask if this is where we order food. She nods. I say I'd like to place an order for here. She says at this time they're only doing takeout. We are far from home, don't want to eat in car. We see patrons eating with seating available. She stands silently holding her broom with rbf permanent on face seemingly annoyed I interrupted her night. At this point exhausted with the exchange, I just want food. We keep the order simple to get out of this insufferable person's aura. But wait, problems with order. I don't even remember the full interaction after that at this point but I remember them saying they ran out of meats so there was chicken or vegetable. I'm sure that's someone's choice but not ours. It's not even worth trying to make it work. I remember trying to kill with kindness because maybe she's just having a day but once we changed our minds and decided to leave, couldn't believe it was possible to get icier. I feel bad for people like that. This woman seemed to hate her job and people. This is the only impression we will ever have of this place. Will never come back. I'm sure the food is edible but honestly wouldn't trust it. Looks dirty in there. She was still wearing the carpet beating gloves at the register. Idk about Bellingham code but hope they pass for yalls sake. There were seemingly a million and one places to get Mexican food in Bellingham. Choose a place where they treat you right and you're not afraid the register lady is going to sabotage your food and no one will break into your car looking for drugs. We ended up going to a fantastic Mexican restaurant with the best food and despite it being 20 mins to close over at that place, they were so kind and amazing. And the ambiance was so wonderful. If you have to choose, pick literally anywhere else.

Normally, I would expect the cashier to ask a caller to wait until our transaction was complete. I handed her my credit card and my burrito punch card to record my purchase. She handed back my credit card and the beeper. When my order was ready, she walked the bag over to me. When I got to my car, I noticed I didn't have my punch card, so I went back in and asked for it. The cashier began to argue with me that she had given the card back, but I said I didn't have it. I asked her for a new card, she still argued. Then she grabbed a new card and punched it once and tossed it down. I told her it had 5 punches on it and she begrudgingly punched it 4 more times. Let me clarify that this is my third punch card with this restaurant, and the card is full with 10 punches. I'm have literally spent hundreds of dollars here. But I will not tolerate good food with crappy customer service. Ok, end of rant!

The restaurant seemed to be a house, with plenty of space. Bottled drinks and desserts are in the fridge cooler and to get them ourselves if we want that. I decided on the Mulitas instead of my usual enchilada plate. It's a smaller version with 3 mini size tortilla filled with meat of your choice. I had carnitas, beef and chicken. All were good. Served with beans and rice. My friend had the beef burrito and it was pretty big. She said it was tasty and very filling. It was literally the only meal she had for the day. It seemed to be a family run place and so service was a bit slow. We had to wait a while before someone came out to the counter for us to make payment. There was no bell to alert them. I noticed other customers popping into the kitchen/staff area to get their attention to take order.
