Rude. After reading reviews, was excited to try. We were traveling and just wanted good Mexican food. We didn't get any so this review isn't about food. There was no parking near front. Looks like a hole in the wall from outside which we know is usually where good food comes from but talk about sketch and questionable. Hard to navigate small lot. Park in back where someone appears to be looking for drugs in grass around cars. Someone is beating carpets outside with gloves on. We see a few people on patio and in the weird area through the entryway window sitting to eat. They close at 10. We showed a little after 8. Confused walking into a small market and where to order, we turn toward the meat counter. There's a register. You hear voices but no people to be seen. There's a limited menu above meat counter. We stood awkwardly waiting. The person beating the carpets walls in from back with gloves still on and pushes past us. Doesn't say a word. Stands in front of register and just stares loathing us. Awesome start. I ask if this is where we order food. She nods. I say I'd like to place an order for here. She says at this time they're only doing takeout. We are far from home, don't want to eat in car. We see patrons eating with seating available. She stands silently holding her broom with rbf permanent on face seemingly annoyed I interrupted her night. At this point exhausted with the exchange, I just want food. We keep the order simple to get out of this insufferable person's aura. But wait, problems with order. I don't even remember the full interaction after that at this point but I remember them saying they ran out of meats so there was chicken or vegetable. I'm sure that's someone's choice but not ours. It's not even worth trying to make it work. I remember trying to kill with kindness because maybe she's just having a day but once we changed our minds and decided to leave, couldn't believe it was possible to get icier. I feel bad for people like that. This woman seemed to hate her job and people. This is the only impression we will ever have of this place. Will never come back. I'm sure the food is edible but honestly wouldn't trust it. Looks dirty in there. She was still wearing the carpet beating gloves at the register. Idk about Bellingham code but hope they pass for yalls sake. There were seemingly a million and one places to get Mexican food in Bellingham. Choose a place where they treat you right and you're not afraid the register lady is going to sabotage your food and no one will break into your car looking for drugs. We ended up going to a fantastic Mexican restaurant with the best food and despite it being 20 mins to close over at that place, they were so kind and amazing. And the ambiance was so wonderful. Friendly staff as we entered and willing to answer our questions with a smile. Bakery items are in a cabinet of sorts. You choose a tray and tongs and pick out the items you want then bring it to the register a few feet away where they calculate and bag your chosen baked goods. We paid $13.70 including tax for 8 items. Such a great deal for authentic Mexican baked goods. I love that none of them are too sweet like most American sweets! Our favorite was the chocolate cake roll with icing inside- perfect blend of chocolate cake and icing without it being too sweet. Next time we are in town we will be back!! read more

I spent close to $100 about a month ago here for my 1st time visit, I got tacos, a burrito, enchiladas, panes and a few drinks. The only good stuff we're the tacos, everything else was not, not even the salsa roja whole container I also bought, too mild. Yum! Service was super friendly--we were greeted warmly, ordered in good time, and our food came out promptly. I got the Veggie Torta and two Asada Tacos, and everything was so good! The torta was packed with grilled peppers, onions, pinto beans, and avocado, all nestled in the fluffiest, soft bread that held everything together perfectly. The seating area inside is small but cozy, with additional patio seating outside. It's easy to see why this place stays busy with a revolving door of customers--the food speaks for itself! I drove past this place many time and finally got to eat here as my friend was hungry after our Trader Joe's run. It was also one of the few Mexican food places opened at 10 am (it opens earlier at 6 am while most restaurants open at 11 am). The beauty of being a market and bakery. Besides food, this place sells Mexican products and drinks and baked goods. The staff was friendly and very patient while we took some time to decide what we wanted. Order at the cashier, pay and they will bring the food to you when done. It did take some time for the food to be ready. There is a small dining in area inside the place with 6 tables, plus patio dining. I had the enchiladas (1 beef and 1 chicken). It was so cheesy and good though I did find it to be a tad too salty for me. The beef was very tender that I wondered if it was birria beef. I liked it more than the chicken. My friend had the carne asada which he said was good. He enjoyed the food and it did the job of filling up the tummy. If you love hot sauce, there are so many kinds here with huge bottles. Recommended by a local, this small grocery does make some food to go. There are a few tables inside if you'd rather eat there. I had the chorizo burrito. I think it weighed about two pounds and was filled with meat. If you are hungry this will fill you up, or eat half and save the rest for lunch the next day. Very good taste! They also have some bakery items that you must check out. I tried something that was like a Swiss roll. Lots of chocolate flavor and cream filling. Day after Thanksgiving, my usual Taqueria was close so I decided to try this place as it has high ratings. When I walked in, there was only one person ordering at the cashier ahead of me. when it was to my turn I ordered mCarnitas burrito . As I was ordering, I was not ask what kind of ingredients I want in my burrito so I realized this is not a Taqueria but more of a grocery store with a kitchen. My burrito took about 20 minutes to appear on the counter only to realize they had cabbage put into my burrito which I told the cashier I did not want in my burrito. They were about to remake it for me and I decline due to the fact that I didn't want to wait another 15-20 minutes for a single burrito. Kitchen has extreme slow service The burrito had decent amount of meat, but no beans and had a small amount of rice with lots of slice cabbage. Ok, so I have a problem... an addiction...this place! Over the last 10 days my husband and I have gone here 3 times. The first visit was to have a breakfast burrito with bacon, it was beyond large and so tasty it drew us back within a few days, where we had a carne asada chimichanga, and can I say that was so yummy, stuffed with meat, the rice and beans were delicious, and the salad was good. And today we had their special which was a shredded beef chimichanga, and I didn't think the meat could get better than the carne asada but I was soo wrong. And we splurged and got donuts they had just brought out of the kitchen, still warm and softer than a pillow, and twice as tasty!! The store itself is also great we found aji mirasol paste which we have had to order for years to make Peruvian green sauce at home, so that is pretty amazing. I suggest you go when you can for authentic Mexican food, we will likely see you there, because yeah, I just can't help it. Absolutely Abhorrent Service. My opinion of this place has completely changed tonight. My husband and I visited for some food and tried to tell them that they were our favorite local business. They spent the entire time they were preparing our food laughing and pointing, because we spoke English. It was completely inappropriate and rude, and after all we were only trying to compliment them. This cute little market carries groceries, baked foods & yummy Mexican grub! Grabbed a bag of concha's, cheese enchiladas, and shared some carne asada fries. They sell a variety of meat, so no wonder the carne asada was my fav! Very warm and friendly service! They have a sign, must wear masks before entering. Cool Tienda with some interesting pastries. The people are really nice, the store looks great and is great to browse and get while you wait, and has some seating inside. But we were here for a breakfast burrito and had the standard with bacon! First of all come hangry because this burrito is gigantic! Two (not small) people are one for two different meals, a total of four meals. It literally took half a day to eat this beast, and it's a great burrito! Oh the food is good and fresh and well made, there is love in that cooking! Highly recommend 10/10 absolutely going back, this place is yum! Today was shredded beef chimichanga. There is a master griller somewhere in the kitchen. The meat, as good as the other times has been, is still surprisingly good. Like, " how can this be so good!?!" Surprising. First stop during our day trip was to get our Mexican eats in. We decided to try Netos Market & Bakery, which is part restaurant, bakery and grocery store. You can smell the fresh pastries being made when you walk in. We dropped in on a Saturday (around 11:15am). There were quite a few people, including several Mexican customers, which is always a good sign in my books. There's 6 small booths inside along with an outdoor patio area. Service is friendly and water self serve. The menu is up behind the counter along with a daily specials board. They also have a display case of Mexican pastries. The grocery area had sauces, spices (big selection of dried chilies), tortillas, snacks, etc. The sauces on the table (green and red) were both excellent. The red had a touch of acidity and a bit of fire to it. - Chile rellenos ($9.99 US) - two stuffed jalapeño peppers with cheese, rice, beans, sour cream and salad. They also came with four warmed tortillas (choose between flour or corn tortilla). This was quite satisfying; the jalapeño peppers had a good heat level and plenty of cheese (stuffed inside and over top). Beans were a tiny bit salty if eaten on its own but were better when combined with the tortillas. - 5x Tacos ($1.50 US) - we tried the pollo, adobada, asada, chorizo and lengua ($3.00 US). It came with a couple slices of radish and a lime. Pollo was a touch salty but tender. The adobada and chorizo were solid. The asada was our least favourite as it was slightly dry. Lengua was excellent; plenty of meat and stewed, resulting in a very tender bite. Will be back to try their huarache! read more

I have been going there for years. A great place if you go during the week. But on the weekend (esp. Sunday) the gentlemen at the cash register ALWAYS overcharges me for their baked goods. This last Sunday morning I ask for the receipt (he has never offered me one) and it was obvious he didn't ring it up. He then gave me a receipt for the entire sale without itemizing what I bought. I tried Netos for the first time today. You can order Mexican food. There's a small but clean dine-in area inside the store. They also carry Mexican groceries and baked goods. Their freshly baked bread smelled amazing and they all looked great too (my photo). TOSTADAS I was here for tostadas. Tostadas are not on the menu but they can make them for you. Compared with the tostadas from Taqueria Tecalitlan on Barkley, tostadas here are more filling because there's more meat and more beans. They are significantly more expensive here, though. About $4.00 here as opposed to $2.50 at Taqueria Tecalitlan. In terms of the quality and taste of tostadas, I thought these two places are comparable. PROS +They are open late and open 7 days a week (although many Mexican places are closed on Sunday). +They have tostadas. Many places (including California Tacos and Mi Rancho Meat Market) do not have tostadas. +They have fresh baked breads. Today, I saw them making a big birthday cake in the back. +They sell beer. I assume they also serve beer too. CONS -Everything else seemed to be priced reasonable. While they are very filling, the tostadas were significantly more expensive here as I mentioned above. The best darn burrito I have had EVER! This, coming from a Texas gal, is a very serious statement. Let me tell you why. The meat is tender and flavorful and perfectly cooked. The tortilla is soft and pillowy and I can just eat ten piece of them and call it a meal. The thing I care about the most is ingredient distribution. I hate hate hate when eating a burrito, you eat a bite of meat, a bit of rice, and a bit of just onion and cilantro (EWW). This one, however, is every burrito lovers' dream. Based on Yelp reviews, my husband and I headed over to Neto's for dinner. We loved the entire experience. I had the 2 tamale combo (one chicken, the other vegetables), rice and beans and a bit of coke slaw. My husband had the beef fajitas burrito special which came in a homemade tortilla. We ate inside. It was a true Mexico experience. I loved glancing around at all the items for sale and hanging about; trinkets, toys, ollas (pots), plants and more. The staff was great, and we both thought the food was really excellent. Perhaps even the best we have had. And we have had a lot! I enjoyed poking around in the grocery store too. And I did check out the Mexican cakes display, as well. But we were just way too stuffed to entertain the dessert notion just then. They have parking behind the building which you get to from the front of the building. The lot next door says they will tow 24 hours. We highly recommend this place. You know that one food item you will drive across town to pick up on a bad day? For me that is a Neto's Burrito. I even buckle it into my passenger seat because it is such precious cargo. But in all seriousness, this little market is a one stop shop for fresh cut meat, excellent to-go food, Mexican baked goods and groceries. They even have a little seating area if you food smells so good you can't get out the door before trying it which has happened to me on multiple occasions. Their Asada Burrito is my go-to favorite, but I have heard great things about their Chili Relleno and Tacos. When driving here, I would recommend not trying to street park and pulling into the Maplewood entrance as there is much more parking in their own lot, although this is hard to see from Northwest Ave. read more

First of all, I was excited to try some New Mexican place since I just moved from southern California. I ordered a breakfast torta and bought some Mexican bread and a hot sauce. Total was $30 bucks! That's a lot in my opinion. The food was very lacking in flavor and I got a little hint of fabuloso soap or something. Not very pleasant when you want to remember good food.
