The menudo was terrible, and the service wasn't much better. I waited about 25 minutes just for them just to reheat some Menudo that they pulled out the fridge. You would think on a Saturday morning they would've had it ready fresh. I specifically asked for no pata, but they still gave me two pieces. When I asked them to remove them, they didn't replace that missing portion with more meat or hominy. That was the most irritating part--I basically paid for a bowl of broth. This place is apparently known for its buy-one-get-one-free shrimp tacos on Wednesdays. If you're on a tight budget and desperate for cheap shrimp tacos, maybe it's worth a try. It seems this Mex establishment has a serious communication problem. I ordered a shrimp burrito, with grilled shrimp. I ended up with a breaded fish burrito. I have eaten here many times because I live in this small town. I would say, 8 out of 10 orders have a problem. I recommend, if you order here, you have them read back your order. Then, look carefully in your bag and make sure you get everything you ordered. Long waits. Food is okay. Their service is kinda weird sometimes Placing your order in English is a bit tricky depending who's on the shift I guess. Multiple times I've caught a few amount of the staff not washing their hands Or changing gloves after cleaning or touching money While packing or handling people's meal there's no supervisor or manager watching over ( straight cross contamination according to health department standards) in one occasion saw a lady picking up the floor carpet then ran back to pack someone's food without changing her gloves - I ask myself how many people stepped on that carpet today - that day I threw my food away $30 is Not fair money doesn't come easy to me. They have cameras if I lie - but if I was the owner I would definitely Re-train my staff or hire a manager that would know how to run the business with proper standards. I ate the fish tacos and shared a side of rice with my daughter. The fish tacos are a little smaller than other places. But they are so good!! So flavorful and tasty. Their chile asados were sooooo good!!! It was a great choice eating here. My niece's ate bean and cheese burritos. My daughter had fish tacos with just the creama. My sister had 2 fish tacos and a side of bean. The employees were nice but you can tell where a bit tired since it was closer to closing time. They have tables inside and a seating area outside as well. Before I left I ordered my boyfriend some food. He wanted Tostada de agua chile and 3 tacos dorado de camarón. He said it was good. Not great customer service. The cashier was not especially friendly and also got my order wrong. I ordered one beef taco and one shrimp taco. I repeated it twice. And I tipped her a dollar. When my to-go order was ready, she called out, "One beef, one fish." I thought she probably just misspoke, so I checked the bag when I was walking out the door. Nope -- there was a fish taco in there. I turned around and told her, "No, this was supposed to be a shrimp taco." Well, she argued with me about it and insisted that I had ordered a fish taco. I said, "No, it was shrimp." She showed me the receipt, which said "fish" in Spanish, I guess. "That means fish," she said. I looked at her skeptically and said, "I'm pretty sure I ordered shrimp." She just stared at me blankly and made no offer to substitute it for a shrimp taco, so I just left. I have to admit, the fish taco was good (better than the beef taco, which had overcooked meat and was not good). I'm so glad I remembered this place when we were headed back from Ventura. This is a must try! The food is very very good! The prices are very reasonable especially with what you get. We got a couple of tacos to share and a carnitas burrito ... all fantastic! This place isn't fancy or have great ambiance but the taste and quality of their food is probably much better than those higher priced Mexican food places. The restauarant has parking on the street or a little parking lot. I went on a weekend and there were spaces. I tried the fish taco. It was very good. 2 Words. Quality Control. I've been a long time fan of this taco chain but cannot recommend this location to anyone. It was our first time trying this location and it was terrible. You will be better off eating at the locations in Duarte and El Monte. I ordered 8 fish tacos and one shrimp ceviche for my family and we were disappointed in what we received. We asked the establishment to separate the fish for us because we were going to reheat them when we got home. They forgot to include the cream and salsa. They also used one subpar sized fish for one of the tacos (at the El Monte location they will include another fish in the taco if one of the fishes is too small). The amount of pico de gallo and vegetables they gave us for 8 tacos was only enough for 3 tacos... The shrimp ceviche did not taste fresh and the texture of the shrimps were soggy, chewy, and not plump. They also included 1 hot sauce packet. Stingy. This location is super stingy and cheap with what they give you. We will not be coming here again. read more

I've been coming to this location under various ownership with my son for 15 years. Hadn't been in a while, and was too lazy to drive out of SM last night (Monday 9/18 around 5-6PM). As someone who was fired (more than once) as a teen for having a bad attitude behind a register, I don't feel great about this review. The girl behind the register. GEEZ. She had so much loathing inside of her that I actually felt she hated us. Maybe she was having a bad day, or maybe the white middle class clientele of SM is killing her soul--I get it. BUT now that I'm a grown up, I also get that I don't want hate with my burritos. Maybe she'd be happier somewhere else. Anyway, I will drive out of SM next time. Call this place for like two weeks trying to set up a big order in advance. Finally I just stopped in. Lucky for me there was someone who's English was good because I don't speak Spanish and the front counter people mostly did. I was getting a large order and I was ordering it in advance for a few days later. At first the girl rang me up wrong because she gave me dollar tacos but the day I was picking up was not dollar day. I kindly let her know that and so she charged me more. But I was adamant that each of the tacos be individually wrapped because of Covid protocols at our event. The tacos were ready on time for the day of the event. But I could not pick them up. The person that picked them up said they alerted them that they were not wrapped but the people had no idea what that they were talking about. So they brought the tacos to the event all in a large catering type tray. The quality of the tacos themselves were OK. I appreciate that they were able to do the event and the price was all right although it would've been better at the dollar taco cost. But I was very irritated that they were not wrapped as promised. read more

Everything was great from the flavors to the presentation. I like how their food is not as greasy as other taco joints and the seafood cocktails tasted fresh and refreshing! It is primarily for takeout, and the customer service is pretty utilitarian in that sense....but wow those fish tacos are fantastic! My Taco Tuesdays have been made a lot better with two for one pricing. Even as the secret continues to leak and the lines continue to grow, the quality has not gone down.
