Super friendly, family owned business! She was quick to explain the versatility of their menu and how everything is customizable. Very cool concept. We got a few to try with various toppings. They were crispy and yet refreshing. I also really liked the Pina aqua fresca they have next to the soda fountain.

4 - pack Taquitos/ 2 chicken, 2 beef, OG style, iceberg, lettuce, avocado sauce, and crema

It was my first time trying this location in Pasadena. The hosts were Ricky and his sister. I believe it is their family who started the business.. They were very friendly and helpful , and offered samples before ordering. I ordered the four pack with two beef taquitos & two chicken taquitos done in the OG style. It had toppings with iceberg lettuce, avocado sauce, and Crema. It comes with a drink of your choice, as well as rice and beans. Both the rice and beans have a homemade flavor. They were really good. They gave some extra sauces on the side for a little variety. The beans taste like grandma made them .. The location offers seating indoors or out with tables and one area has a counter. The interior is modern with some very colorful art. Reggae music was playing. I really like this location as well as-the very cordial service and excellent food.

Friendly staff! We heard about this place and wanted to try their taquitos. The staff offered samples of the refreshers and chips/salsa to check flavors and gave recommendations on the options. It was inviting inside and some games available to hang out and play with. We got the loaded asada fries as well as the original taquitos combo. Fries were great and filling. The taquitos were a little too generously slathered with sauce but it was okay we dunked fries in them. I usually don't like rice and beans but the rice was nice accompaniment to the meats and the beans actually were satisfying instead of an afterthought! Plenty of parking in the lot shared with Amazon Fresh that will be closing down soon.

The food was really good! I ordered the taquitos "enchilada" style. The beans tasted homemade and fresh. The salsa was good but ask for the hot one for sure. Very friendly owners. Clean restaurant and lots of free parking.

First time here and definitely coming back! Really good taquitos! Jasmine S. was really friendly and made the experience even better.

I ordered the taquito combo with 2 potato and 2 chicken

The tacos here were so good, and the taquitos were even better. I got mine enchilada-style and the sauces had so much flavor. I honestly recommend everything. and I loved that you can mix and match the fillings. Both were delicious -- crispy, flavorful, and perfect with the sauces. I don't even like beans, and I ate every single one -- I wanted more! The rice was super moist and fluffy, and every part of the meal was seasoned perfectly. Customer service was also great. The staff was friendly, helpful, and gave really good recommendations for my first time. I'll definitely be coming back!

It was my first time here and the service and food were the BEST! Service was super friendly and gave us options on what he recommends. After he explained everything, I ordered exactly that. I got the 4-pack (2 chicken and 2 beef taquitos loaded) w/ rice and beans and a horchata drink. Me and my girlfriend sat outside and they brought the food out to us. Even while we were eating, he made sure we were ok by checking up on us here and there. The food was so good! The best rice and beans I've tasted in a while! It was packing with flavors. The taquitos was also was packing a punch with flavors and you can hear that crunch when you bite into it! If you're planning to try this place, I recommend trying it out! It is worth the time and friendly environment by the staffs (:

    Carne asada fries!

Super friendly staff. Bright and happy causal fast food ambiance. Tacos dorados are hard to find but this place has a crunchy taco with ground beef--I liked this the most. Their crunchy beef taquitos had a touch of heat to them. Their carne asada fries were crunchy, tasty, and had a good amount of toppings. And it was all washed down by a creamy horchata slushy!

Wow wow wow!! I only have positive words for this small family owned restaurant. First of all, the workers are one of the friendliest hospitality workers I have ever met. They were super informative, friendly, and really accommodated us. I genuinely had such a positive experience even without trying their food first. Now onto the food, ordered the 2 taquitos (corn tortilla with beef/chicken) and they were so flavorful, fresh, and crispy. I recommend their combo taquitos since it comes with a drink, rice, and beans. They even have a nice outside seating area with plenty of tables inside and out. Located in a super big plaza near Amazon fresh. Plenty of parking and in a nice location. 1000% recommend coming here.

Here are the problems: 1. $7 for Chips and Guacamole - a giant basket of mediocre chips - basically a tablespoon of guacamole. Sorry, that's a terrible value. 2. The tacos were good, but again, kind of a crap value at $3 a taco. 3. I also ordered a medium Diet Pepsi. I don't know the exact price, but I had just spent $27 with a tip for 4 tacos/chips and guacamole/and a drink, but they wouldn't give me a refill unless I spent another $1.11. It's not a lot of money, but come on! Food is decent/not amazing/service is fine/prices are high and not a good value. I don't think I will be dining here ever again.

This was not the case when we had our dining experience. We got the plate of chile relleno with a beef enchilada, the mole plate and a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. 1. The chile in the chile relleno was soooo tiny, the battered egg was big and fluffy which is why it looks big. The rice was crunchy and had pieces of overcooked rice. The beef on the enchilada was on top of the enchilada NOT inside and it tasted like boiled beef with no flavor! I put it to the side. The inside just had a bit of shredded marble cheese. So disappointed. The beans were ok, restaurant quality, canned flavored. 2. The mole was very sweet and although that's not a bad thing, it still didn't have any kind of authenticity in the flavor it was as though it was just packaged sauce dumped on the chicken. 3. The kids quesadilla has bellpeppers and onions inside! Which was not disclosed on the menu. My kid likes bellpeppers but not the green ones and not in her quesadillas... come on. I had to pick them off. Over all I'm glad I live far away from here because it was really bad quality food. The service was nice and attentive. The ambiance was empty and almost abandoned... and I even went on a weekend.

I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary. It really hits the spot when you're craving comforting, flavorful Mexican food. The chips are fresh, the salsa is good, and the menu has offerings that feel more authentic and varied than a lot of other places. I especially appreciate that they have Yucatán cuisine options, which you do not always see at every Mexican restaurant. I am also very fussy with mole and typically do not like it at all, but I actually really enjoy the mole from El Portal. It has been a real eye-opener for me and honestly inspired me to give mole another shot elsewhere. One thing to keep in mind: a lot of the combo plates are smothered in delicious red sauce and plenty of cheese, so if you are not a big cheese person, just be aware before ordering. The enchiladas are good, though sometimes they could use a little more sauce, as the tortillas can come out a bit dry. The margaritas are tasty, but they do feel a little small for the price (Roughly $16 for a 8oz glass?!) The staff are friendly, the vibe is nice, and overall the food is consistently good. The only other heads-up is that some of the tables and booths are pretty small, so it can feel a little cramped in the main dining room. Also, **make sure you get your parking validated**. This is important because if you do not, the parking lot can be extremely expensive. You can also look for street parking on Green Street. After walking up a block found the charming little passage way with some patio seating. It seems like it's a family-owned and operated restaurant as always a great indicator of things to come is the complimentary chips and salsa. They were perfectly thin crispy non-salty and warm, paired with a nice salsa that seems house made but was a little too tomato/ketchupy but by no means bad. I had crispy taco with shredded beef and chili relleno combo. It was pretty good. ($21 )I enjoyed the rice and beans and it was a filling portion. Wife and mother-in-law split a carne asada plate the meat was flavorful and tender ($30) came with the cheese enchilada was also very enjoyable. They have a really large patio so it's hard to fill but people kept coming in and out so the locals know something. It won't blow you away but it is a very solid Mexican spot and I'm glad we stopped by. Dos Equis bottles were really cold, gracias para mi bungholio.
