I got an asada burrito, horchata, and 2 tacos- pastor and cabeza. The cabeza was decent but the pastor was not good tbh. The burrito had a piece of bone in it that my gums did harikiri with. It also had a bit too much rice for me. The horchata was blatantly over-iced, like really shameful and disrespectful IMO to get a drink that's ice top-to-bottom. Maybe that's just me though? Finally, 3.50 for a street taco is kinda crazy. Again, maybe that's just me though. In conclusion- I would not order from or visit this place again... I have looked and looked for a taco spot near and have finally found it. This taco truck is managed and operated by a young group that are welcoming and courteous. I have tried a variety of their items, but my favorite are the carne asada tacos. They are full of delicious meat and the free side of grilled onions and jalapeños pair for a perfect late night snack or dinner. Their salsas are amazing. The 3 salsas to chose from are the avocado salsa, green chili salsa, and my favorite spicy red chili salsa. The avocado salsa is the tamer of the bunch, but pairing it with either the green or red chili salsa is a combination you won't regret. Caution: the red salsa is pretty spicy. Another major reason I keep coming back is because they are efficient from the order to pick up and the food quality continues to be consistent. I hate to have to write this review and I'm a person that's always decisive but this time I was not and I regret it. Came right before midnight tonight with a hunger ( might be why what happened, happened) & craving for a burrito. Ordered a burrito asada, add cheese no rice, light beans, onions & cilantro. The cook flipped my tortilla then proceeded to rub the same hand on his shirt, then proceeded to grab the cheese with the SAME hand to add to my burrito all of this was done with no gloves and that was a shot in the foot for me. I drove around thinking do I take the risk? Do I give it to a homeless person? I decided to trash the burrito ($7.50) down the drain. I am always here to support independent business but this was just wrong. Covid-19 is something we are all dealing with right now it sucks but health is first. On a positive note the burrito seemed huge it was very heavy. Maybe one day I'll come by again and we can start over but until then please use better hygiene not for me but for all customers!! read more

The taco truck in LA, especially in this part of the Valley, is a ubiquitous sight. You can drive around Lake Balboa at night and see a taco truck or a hot dog cart light up the otherwise relatively quiet nightlife. Tacos El Ranchero Chido is one of those unassuming trucks, always parked outside the Ralph's/CVS parking lot from around 6-11, sometimes open later. The food consistency & excellent customer service sets this truck apart from the rest. If you're looking for a delicious balance, have to go for the tacos & mulitas. Highly recommend the pastor, carnitas & lengua for tacos. I have had better pollo tacos, but a pollo mulitas here is hard to beat. Plus their salsas are fantastic. Careful with their red, it is straight fire & you should consume some radish after if you are care about yourself. Also love their avocado salsa, cooling balance to their red. They also give you with every order the common limes & radish, but also a tin foil ball of grilled onions & a grilled jalapeño. ! If you are looking for a cheese bomb, go with the quesadilla, you will not be disappointed. Maybe grab a horchata, theirs is very sweet, maybe try the torta, either way this place is worth a visit & a neighborhood gem. read more
