Good food truck! The parking was a bit tough because the rain flooded the parking lot but we were able to just park outside on the street. There is a tent with lots of picnic tables to eat at. The prices are decent and we got our food quickly. Carne tacos were good! A little bit of a spicy kick which was nice and cooked nicely. The rice was good too. The fish taco was good, a little bigger than the others, but the fish could be a little softer-- it was a little overcooked. Otherwise a solid food truck and good casual food option!

Forgot to include a picture of the elote and California burrito but it was fireee. The fries inside were seasoned and perfectly crispy, although I recommend eating it as soon as you get it versus waiting like we did because the tortilla got soggy from all the filling. Either way, flavor was still there and that's all that matters. The elote was top tier, I love that it's an actual cob and not one of those elote cups, those just aren't the same vibe. For tacos, we got carnitas and carne asada; both were flavored well but my only gripe is that the carne asade was basically minced beef vs chopped steak. Would go again but bring your mosquito spray!

Went to Tacos Jalisco on Kekuanaoa St, Hilo for their 2 for $5.50 tacos as advertised on the street & parking lot banners. I asked for the $5.50 tacos and was informed that they were $5.75 as he pointed to their menu on my left. I pointed to their banner on my right as it indicated 2 for $5.50. He said that was an old banner which in my view looked pretty new to me. Not to argue over 2 orders of .50c more, I placed the order. I was then asked if they could place the four tacos inside one plate and I said sure. When I received my order, I asked if there was hot sauce. I was told that it was inside the plate and if I wanted more it would be .50 cents. So, upon checking what I received, I lifted the little container to eye level & saw that it was a tablespoon of hot sauce. NO WAY was I going to pay .50 cents more for that amount of hot sauce. After leaving it occurred to me why he asked if they could place all four tacos inside one plate. So that they would not be obligated to provide more of those little containers of sauce. Their entire scheme was to hopefully get me to purchase more hot sauce and to pay more $ for food then what was advertised. Lastly, the tacos had more onions than meat. I must have received the onion tacos by mistake. Never again will I go near that place!

This was traumatizing.... Ordered carne asada tacos and they gave me this and the rice tasted like minute rice... I think Taco Bell is more Mexican than this. Worker was nice though. It just didn't taste or look like carne asada at all, it tasted like ground beef with some taco seasoning.

Food was great, tasted like a true Cali taco truck burrito. Ordered the Cali burrito with asada. Salsa complimented the burrito. Truly my first satisfied taste of a great burrito since moving to Hawaii. Definitely going back. Service good. Nice tables and condiment table, very clean.

So I gave an honest review about this food truck and the lady serving my husband food, who was super rude, her name is Jubilee. Doesn't live up to her name. She responded to my review by calling my husband a perv and laughing. If this were my employee she'd be fired. Maybe it's the owner. Who knows but Taco Bell tastes way better and costs way less. Don't bother with this place. The most disgusting refried beans I've ever had. If you click on the gray box you will see Jubilee's response to my review: your husband was a perv lol

If you're in Hilo and craving some Mexican cuisine, Tacos Jalisco can definitely satisfy that craving! Ample amount of parking and tables in their lot. We got there about an hour after they opened and the area was vibing with music from their speaker. Service was quick and friendly. My first time trying Flautas and I got their Carnitas Flautas. The plate came with 4 pieces of flautas, refried beans and Mexican rice. I wasn't expecting it to come with the sides since it wasn't listed on the menu so that was definitely a pleasant surprise and made this place a great affordable spot. The carnitas flautas was fried with a nice crisp, the carnitas meat had a nice flavor and the drizzle of guacamole and sour cream paired everything perfectly. My boyfriend got their carne asada tacos and it was alright, a little on the dry side though. So the star of the meal was definitely the flautas and I would visit them again just for that.

I'm reviewing the new PunaKai shopping mall location in Pahoa. Although a good location and inside seating, local traffic is minimal unless there's an event happening. Same selection as their Hilo location. And they do have birria. The pricing seems a bit higher which is understandable (lease). I ordered the regular burrito w/carnitas and Flautas w/rice & beans total: $28. Tonight's wait time was decent (5-7 mins) as the previous time was unreal! for just 2tacos waited over 10imin. and the tortillas were hard and chewy. I do wish them luck! Once Ikaika Marzo's Western Bar opens their business should pick up also. We appreciate a new eatery in Puna . Luckily we still have Panchos and SiSi's.

Delicious. Have been to lots of Mexican Food places on the BI and not always very good, lack consistency with their chefs. This food truck has a great set up, 2 clean porta potties, 8 Large picnic tables under a canopy and with side shades. Our keiki loved it too. This place is a hidden gem in Hilo. Nice soft hot tacos . We got the chicken tres tacos and it came with a side of beans and rice. Food is very nice and the service is very fast. Their staff is awesome and friendly. This place definitely is a perfect stop for Mexican food in Hilo. Take a to-go and enjoy the food in a nice garden in Hilo. My daughter and I had the steak fajitas plate and OH EM GEE!!!!!...there wasn't a grain of rice left on my plate! They advertise "authentic Mexican cuisine " and man oh man do they deliver!! The customer service is also on point....5 stars!! To top it all off they have the cleanest gravel parking lot over ever seen!! We're back again today and will be back many more times to come. I got the shrimp fajita burrito and it was sooo good! It was giant so I had it for dinner and the second half was still good for leftovers the next day. The truck was a little hard to find but super worth it and the tent/light setup was really cute and a nice little date spot. Also had the elote that was on special (also great) and got a carton of fresh free range eggs they happened to have available. Will definitely be going back here and excited to try the rest of the menu. read more

Best tacos that weve found in Hilo thus far. Have tried the carnitas, carne asada, and pollo tacos, with preference in that order. The shrimp fajita "taco" (with flour tortilla) was also very good. Mexican Cokes for the win too. 4 stars using Hilo grading for Mexican. 3 stars using CA grading for Mexican. Good to have Tacos Jalisco here! Mahalo. read more

Tacos Jalisco is my favorite food truck on the island. The tacos are great I've been looking for tacos like these for a while and am so happy I found this place. I usually prefer chicken, but have ventured to tasting the carne asada tacos which literally melt in your mouth, steak fajitas plate, and ahogado burrito. I haven't been disappointed with anything yet! Great amount of food for the price. The food comes out quick and the staff is awesome! read more

Just so happened upon this food truck and so glad we did. Large tent with lots of picnic tables and the food was 10/10! Best tasting Mexican I've had living in Hilo to be honest. Everything was flavorful, fresh and tasted like care was used. Ordered the fish, shrimp, and steak tocos along with the enchiladas. Devoured and delicious!! This food is delicious and authentic. I'm a vegan and they easily accommodated me. I had a delicious burrito drowned in red sauce. The burrito was filled with beans, rice and fajita vegetables. I'll be back. I just overheard they are now serving breakfast at 10 am. There are 8 festive red, white and green picnic tables under a tarp. My friend told me that they sell Coke and other soft drinks in bottles from Mexico. ( no high fructose corn syrup). read more

For Hilo, this was a nice find. Was craving some decent tacos with flavor. This is the place. Good outdoor seating. Not TexMex, we're from Texas but we're familiar with Jalisco and like the spices, so yeah. Legit for Hilo town in Hawaii. Stop by. Many already found the place. Located next to the Board of Water Supply offices. Look for the flags and truck inside the wired fence. Pretty clean outside picnic tables. Lots of call in's for pickup during lunch so the wait maybe there, but not too long. Good service. Recommend. read more

Last time we were here, we had the tacos and enchiladas. Excellent!!!. We saw some people with a taco salad (which looked tasty). The woman actually gave us a taste of hers, and it was delicious. This time, my wife asked if the taco salad was available. The server said they usually just make it on week ends and special occasions. He then asked his partner if they had enough lettuce and other ingredients. He came back to say they could make us two taco salads. They were deeee licious!!!!. There used to be an Indonesian restaurant in Honolulu opposite the McCully shopping center but that one unfortunately had closed some time back. We we're astatic to find this here in Hawaii because this style of food is poorly lacking here in Hawaii. So we did come back, not just once but several times to try Nia's Beef Rendang and Fried Chicken (Ayam Goreng) rice plates. Even in the rain, it was worth it! She pairs the main course with a unique coconut infused salad and/or tofu side. In all a great way to get a southeast Asian food fix! She is not open everyday but swing by on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Also be on a lookout for when she comes to Kona for the food truck festival. Nia is originally from Indonesia but also a long time resident in Hilo. It was great to "talk story" with her as it brought back good memories of Southeast Asia. Do swing by. Unless you're actively looking for it, you probably won't stumble upon it randomly. Between the two of us, we shared a single plate with garlic shrimp and lilikoi shrimp and three sides -- two scoops of taro potatoes (extra charge for having a duplicate side) and some broccoli. For close to $30, the shrimp plate feels expensive, but you actually get quite a bit of food -- definitely enough for two to comfortably share. Between the two types of shrimp (a plate comes with four of each), I liked the garlic shrimp a bit more. I loved how intense the garlic flavor was in the shrimp. In the past when I've had garlic shrimp in Hawaii, it's always been drown in a pool of butter, resulting in an oily coat around your mouth after each bite. The shrimp here uses a fraction of the butter and oil used elsewhere, leaving a much cleaner taste after each bite. With the lilikoi shrimp, my first bite reminded me walnut shrimp: there was a subtle sweetness to the shrimp. Unlike the garlic shrimp, the lilikoi shrimp are butterflied, making it easy to distinguish between which shrimp is what flavor. The fact that the shrimp can even be butterflied means the shrimp used here are quite large in size, indicative of the value you're getting with your plate. With the sides, the broccoli is well-seasoned, and the taro potatoes have nice large chunks mixed in. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my meal at Hawaiian Shrimp Company. I understand some folks would be quick to write-off a restaurant as understated as this one, but definitely give it a try if you're looking for some good tasting garlic shrimp.

If you're craving authentic Mexican food, Jalisco's tacos absolutely hit the spot. The tortillas were fresh, the meat was perfectly seasoned, and everything tasted incredibly flavorful. You can tell they put real care into the food. The tacos were simple in the best way--great quality ingredients, fresh toppings, and bold flavors that don't need anything extra. The salsa added the perfect kick and brought everything together. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We're from the Los Angeles area and I have to say, this place is amazing. We've been here two times already and plan to come again before heading back to the mainland. The food is very authentic and the owners are extremely nice. Highly recommend...you would do yourself a disfavor by not stopping by and getting a four pack of tacos or breakfast burrito! The most authentic and well-priced Mexican tacos I have found on the big island. Small menu but that allows them to keep everything high quality and fresh and you can definitely tell. They have had a line several times when I have come through and I'm still in and out in under 10 minutes every time so far. The tacos are 80% protein, 10% tortilla, and 10% salsa/cilantro/onions. No rice or bean filler. read more

Bruh I don't know how anybody could give this place less than 5 stars! The Chorizo Tacos and Carne Asada tacos are the best tasting tacos I've ever had on or off the island. The only complaint I have is that it's in a small-ish lot so sometimes it's hard to see where to turn in and it's kind of hard to get out. I just park near the water supply and walk up most of the time. read more

The most authentic Mexican cuisine that I have ever tasted in the Hawaiian island chain. Tacos Jalisco hands down has the best prices and the best tasting Mexican food in Hawaii you got to try it. Check out their website you view their menu and call your order in ahead of time, especially during lunch, cause they get busy, but have a huge outdoor canopied eating area. read more

We happened upon this place on Yelp, and I was a little skeptical, but after the first bite, I felt transported back to Mexico. My entire family agreed that these are the best quesabirria tacos we have had outside of Mexico, and possibly even in Mexico. The flavors were amazing, and the consommé was absolutely delicious. We are regulars on the Big Island and normally do not eat Mexican food because we have never found a good spot, with the exception of Shaka Tacos. This place was really busy, and there was only one person working. She was doing it all--taking orders, collecting money, and making all the delicious food. She was never rude and was so pleasant. She said the cooks had called in and she was the only one there. Talk about dedication! She made sure everyone got their food, and it was made perfectly. I cannot commend her enough for all the work she did and for putting out an outstanding order of food. She is a real gem and should be treated as such! It is so hard to find good employees today, and her dedication and attitude inspired me. I wish we had gotten her name, but she said she is always there. If the food takes longer than you like, just be patient, because you are in for a treat when it comes out. Good food takes time, and the food is definitely worth the wait. We will definitely be coming back every time we are here. This place is a real gem. If I could give it more stars, I would. I hope everyone reading this takes my advice and goes to this wonderful place for the delicious food and the warm people.
