Decent. Convient since there isn't much in this town. Just want to be clear I've only had their chicken.

We ordered the chile relleno plate. The chile relleno itself was flavorful and probably the highlight of the meal, but the beans were disappointing. They lacked flavor, and the appearance wasn't very appetizing. Based on other reviews, we wanted to try the carnitas on the side, but were told there would be about a 1.5-hour wait. We also attempted to order a breakfast burrito and were told that if we "really wanted it," they would make it. That response felt a little odd and made us unsure whether it was something they normally offered at that time. We also ordered an al pastor quesadilla. The meat was flavorful and enjoyable, but it only came with lettuce and tomato. There was no sour cream or guacamole included, which was surprising compared to what we're used to receiving with similar dishes elsewhere. The chips served were store-bought rather than house-made. Overall, there were a few good items, particularly the chile relleno and al pastor, but between the strong bleach smell, inconsistent menu experience, and sides that fell short, this wasn't a place that stood out enough for us to return.

The carnitas were dry too. Was expecting more considering the reviews, but would not come back here.

They also have a salsa bar with chips, which I loved because there were so many different salsas to try. The chips were fresh, and the salsas added the perfect kick to the meal. The food was flavorful, the portions were generous, and everything felt fresh and authentic. If you're craving really good Mexican food and tacos, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'll definitely be coming back to try more food .

Cashier guy taking the order and rang up the bill was nice, friendly and helpful. The server who wanted to be elsewhere doing something else just threw the food on the table then stomped off in a huff. Now the bad: The place is a dump. It's a dive. Not clean. Dining room is cramped. Furniture is uncomfortable crap. There are telephone, electrical, security camera wires dangling from walls and ceilings. The place looks like it was last painted in the early 1970's. I took a peek into the kitchen and storage area and wished that I didn't. It's awful. Looks like a hoarder's storeroom. I tried to use the restroom. The toilet was clogged, water running over the top of the bowl. I don't know the last health department inspection grade, if an inspection has ever occurred. Really, I've eaten at 100's of sketchy cheap eats dives in dozens of developing countries, this place is worse than most of those. Despite the yummy food I don't think I'd return. My spouse and her sister also loved their food but were disappointed with the room.

Food: 4.5 Service: 5…read more Cleanliness: 5 Ambiance: 5 My husband and I were on a road trip from up north and wanted one last good meal before heading home. We found El Capi on Yelp and were impressed by the great reviews. When we walked in, it was completely empty, which made us a little hesitant--but the vibes felt right, so we decided to give it a shot. First impressions? The place is super cute and spotless--huge for me. Even the bathroom was chef's kiss clean (major points!). The server was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Booths were spacious and spotless. You can order from physical menus or scan a QR code, which is always a nice option. Here's what we ordered: * Caldo de Camarón * Calamari * Spicy Edamame * Two shrimp tacos * One fish taco * Shrimp tostada Everything was seriously delicious. The edamame had a great kick, and the calamari was perfectly cooked--crispy, not rubbery--and paired with a zesty tartar sauce that really elevated the dish. The tacos and tostada were fresh and flavorful. My only critique? The tortillas. That's the one area I'd love to see improved. Handmade or at least warmed on the comal would have really taken the tacos to the next level. Ours felt like they came from a microwave or warmer, which was a bit of a letdown. As for the caldo--it was flavorful and came with a generous side of onion, cilantro, and avocado, which I loved. The shrimp-to-broth ratio was perfect, but I wish there had been more veggies in the soup. A few more chunks of potato, some carrots, maybe a bit of zucchini or even corn would have made it feel more complete. One other win: the beans. My husband couldn't stop raving about them. We're not sure if they were made in-house, but they didn't taste canned, and that's a win in our book. By the time we were leaving, more people were coming in--which was nice to see. I have a feeling El Capi might be a newer spot, and I genuinely hope it takes off. If you're in the area, give them a shot and support a small business with a ton of potential!
