Three words... CHEAP. MEXICAN. FOOD. Enough said! As I was heading to Yelp's Passport in Yolo County for some wine tasting on the afternoon of 6/26/2021, I stumbled across a place that I did not expect on my adventure to no man's land. This was none other than "Tacos Jesus Maria". Located in the small community of Esparto, CA, this little taco truck is directly on Fremont St. and adjacent to Woodland Ave. (which is essentially Highway 16). The parking itself can be a true hit or miss as there is a convenient store nearby as well as other businesses within walking distance. Since I came here for one thing (which is their tacos) to get my belly filled up before wine tasting. The menu is no frills as they specialize in tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, and tostadas. Since tacos are my go-to meal of choice, I ordered two of their "Carne Asada" ones. And at $2.00 each, these prices are unbeatable. Other food items that were very low in price were burritos that started at $4.00 and tostadas as just $3.25. Service was quick as my tacos were ready in less than 5 minutes; even with a long line. Overall, this is what a taco should taste and look like; two corn tortillas, a side of radishes, jalapeños, lime wedge, and salsa roja. The flavor itself is out of bounds amazing and a great little pit stop if you're passing through town or heading to nearby Cache Creek Indian Reservation. All in all, "Tacos Jesus Maria" is as good as it gets; they are open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7:30pm and closed on Sunday. My rating, a unanimous five stars. read more

They have had tacos at school events several times and WOW! The tacos are sooooo flavorful and delicious! I have tried a few different meats and these are the best tacos in town! Customer service is amazing too! Definitely try these tacos!!!! read more

We showed up totally based on the good yelp reviews. We hoped there would be tables but there were none. But it's a food truck, so okay, we took our burritos to go. But by the time we sat to eat, about 10 minutes later, the tortilla was soggy, the fillings were bland, the asada was like hamburger, the chicken had no flavor. Still the best Mexican food in town. Their adobada and salsa is soo good! Everything is flavorful. The food is also quick, even if there is a line I don't think I've ever waited more than 20 minutes and that was a massive line. read more

This truck, semi-permanently set up in a lot next door to Chavez's Grab and Go convenience market in Esparto, serves up some tasty tacos and burritos. The tacos are a bargain at $1.25 each, and have a broader selection than taco trucks I've tried in the SF Bay Area. The one I remember is buche (pork stomach). Yes, I tried it, and yes, it was good, along with everything else. They also sell bottles of mexican coke. I'm going to be up this way again soon, and I'll make a point of stopping here again. This taco truck is one of the better around. My teenager eats there as many days a week as he can afford. The carnitas tacos are great...I prefer the crispy ones (and they do make them if you ask), but the traditional soft ones are good too. The burritos are large, so be hungry when you order them. I have tried their tortas and they are really tasty too. Overall, their sanitation seems to be among the better of the taco trucks I have frequented. I am always wary of this format, but this truck is pretty darn clean. It can be a little difficult to place an order that isn't the "norm" if you don't speak spanish well, but most of the time one of the workers speaks good English so your order will be correct. I'd say this truck is definately one of the better ones I have seen statewide, so give it a try. read more

We always stop by here on our way to Cash Creek for a couple of tacos. Their food has all the Mexican flavors that you would expect to find in a great taco. I understand they also cater weddings, parties and other events, but not with the truck. If they had their food truck set up over in Elk Grove. we would be there every week... read more

Since its pretty much the only fast food in town, I'll admit I've eaten at this taco truck a couple of times, but it's really not that great. Everything's pretty processed and a little bland. If I'm really short on time, it's better than whatever I could get at the nearby convenience store, but it's not somewhere I'd go because the food tastes good. read more
