I've always been a sucker for the carne asada fries and horchata here, and I had a Lenten Friday hankering for their shrimp burrito. Don't bother with this place, they have either changed cooks or decided they were downsizing their portions. I paid 21.50 for two super burritos, this in the drive through. They handed me the food in a bag and I got home and both burritos were small, like the size of the small Red Bull cans in width and about the length of a soda can. I checked my receipt to make sure I didn't somehow order the wrong thing thinking this had to be a mistake, nope, charged for two super burritos and even if I combined both of them they wouldn't have met the "regular" size burritos they made just last month. I've always loved this local spot and have stayed loyal through the many challenges restaurants have faced over the past few years. However, I'm increasingly disappointed about the rising prices and declining quality. For example, the breakfast burritos used to have hearty chunks of bacon, but now it feels more like a light sprinkle of bacon bits. The flour tortillas the meat was served in were soft and fluffy. The meat had a nice flavor to it without being chewy or over salted. Their salsa was spicy but still full of flavor. We have been going to this restaurant often over the last year for carry out orders, mainly after 6:00 pm. I've always been really happy with the whole experience. The employees at the counter are super helpful and friendly. They're very welcoming... the owner should be proud of the front of house staff. The food is usually quite delicious. We've had good luck with burritos and with soft tacos.. Sometimes the crispy tacos, wind up being a little soggy because of the sauces or juices associated with the meat served. Still this place is definitely worth a try. The portions are generous. Often while we wait for our order, we help ourselves to some free chips and salsa. As a long time happy customer of El Patio in Woodland, I was flabbergasted when I ordered my usual lunch plate and it had gone up in price from $9.55 to $12.90. That's a 35% increase in price overnight. I understand that inflation is an issue, but a 35% increase is highway robbery. We enjoy takeout. Our usual is the chile verde plate which is ample for two. Enjoyed the flautas also. Service works smoothly and quickly. Today I waited six minutes in the drive-thru as the only car in line, and no one responded when I spoke into the microphone, even though employees were clearly inside. When someone finally answered, there was no apology for the wait. She simply asked if I was ready to order, which set the tone for the whole interaction. After placing my order, I asked for some chips and was immediately told I would be charged extra. While I understand policies, this was a missed opportunity to create goodwill with a customer who had already been inconvenienced by the delay. Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have experienced poor service here. The employees make you feel like they are doing you a favor for taking your order, whether inside or at the drive-thru. After getting a taco salad last week from El Patio. I figured I'd write a review and let you know how awesome it is. El Patio is quick convenient and easy because they have a drive-through. They use fresh ingredients that are always very tasty. And I'm never disappoint disappointed with any dish I get there. The drive-through line can be a little long. I will say when there's a lot of customers waiting for food. However, the wait is worth it. They offer fresh salsa. That's amazing with your order and adds to it. If you're looking for a restaurant, that's fast convenient and fresh and tasty. This is your place. When I eat in house, I get chips and salsa and hang out and eat them while I wait for my order. Hands-down, in my opinion, this is the best Mexican restaurant in town. And it's fast fresh and convenient. I asked the lady which burrito was the "#1 rated burrito" and she just looked at me like I was crazy. That was the point I knew this place wasn't going to smack. The food came out and it looked decent. Got the patio burrito and two patio tacos. One was chicken and the other was el pastor. The tacos looked good. Just didn't taste much even with guacamole in them. Only thing that was good about their burrito was the asada meat that's actually asada but it was also bland. Their salsas need work. Really bland as well. Their so call "award winning" salsa was as big of a let down as their burrito. It's also pretty dark inside. Not sure why it's dark in there. Probably because they don't want you to actually see the food they are serving to their customers. Only two stars this place gets because their patio tacos aren't worth $5.75 and their steak is actually steak. Just need seasoning. The burrito on the other hand is really chewy probably because of their choice of tortilla but if you like eating bubble gum texture burritos then that's cool. Well, we've been to the Davis El Patio many times. This week, we got some take out from the El Patio in Woodland, after a trip to Home Depot. We ordered ahead of time and no wait - food was ready when it said it would be. The menu was a little different - more burgers than I remember at Davis (I don't even think there are burgers at the Davis location) and also a little cheaper than the Davis menu, which I can fully support. Everything tasted the same as the Davis location - I thought the refried beans were a little saltier here - but still good and they have the toasted tortilla option on their burritos, which makes it chef's kiss. Overall, good value for money and tasty burritos (got 4 different types - mine was the super bean and it was good and huge. The rest of my family went with some version of a carnitas burrito and there were no complaints). After reading some of these reviews, I will definitely try the breakfast burrito next time! read more

Honestly what I love most about this place is the salsa bar. Their red and green sauce are delicious, not under flavored, but also not overly salty. And they have jalapeño pickled garlic if you dig under the carrots which blew my little foodie mind. Their tacos are tasty and where they shine, burritos are okay. Review: If I could give zero stars, I would. El Patio is far from authentic Mexican food. I ordered a breakfast burrito, and it was a complete disappointment. The burrito was cold, and instead of potatoes (as stated on their online menu), it had hard, cold french fries. Nowhere on the menu does it say anything about french fries being used. When I called to address the issue, I spoke to multiple people who were incredibly rude and dismissive. They argued with me, claiming they haven't carried regular potatoes for over 10 years and essentially told me they didn't know what to tell me. This is unacceptable customer service. Super impressed with the catering service! They accepted a same day taquito catering order for me, and everything was perfect. It came with cheese, lettuce, sour cream, pico, and green salsa. The burrito was good, but I would want to find other options and try other places. Would love to give this place a 5 but Luis(one of the employees who is a cashier) is always rude/disrespectful to me and my gf. I say something nice and he has a rude or smirky attitude towards us. On 6/20 I placed a to go order for some fish tacos and 2 fish tacos for dine in. The 2 fish tacos for dine in were good they each had about 2 or 3 pieces of fish. However, once I got home and went to eat the other fish tacos I was astonished, only 1 small piece of fish in each taco. I called and filed a complaint, the cashier apologized and said she would have the manager call me. I've never received ed a call from the manager. El Patio has been our go to Mexican take-out restaurant for years. Today, my hubby ordered me a regular chicken burrito light on the beans ( for me) and flan ( for him) using the drive thru. The employee had difficulty understanding the order request despite my husband repeating the order.
