Asada fries
Jade L.

I'm not usually a taco truck fan, but Tacos La Doña completely changed my mind. This is now mine and my husband's absolute favorite spot to eat--hands down. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Our favorite thing to get is their asada fries--they're seriously next level . Plus, Fernando and his family are always so friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. And the fact that they're open late (until 12!) is perfect for our late-night cravings. Highly recommend giving them a try--even if you think taco trucks aren't your thing. You might end up just as hooked as we are!

I really liked their carne asada fries, the meat had lots of flavor and the salsas were amazing. Everyone was really friendly and I felt like family there. Very calm setting off the side of the road.

This truck used to be so good when it was in San Gabriel! I was so happy to be driving on Duarte when I spotted this truck. I recently moved to this area and it was such a pleasant surprise to see a familiar truck I used to frequent in San Gabriel. This truck used to have what I thought was the best al pastor tacos! I recently tried them last week and was disappointed they weren't as good as I remember. Maybe it was just an off night. I will give them another try. The service was top notch though, and very generous with the sauce!

Three tacos at $1.75 each!

This cash only neighborhood food truck on Durate serves out tacos and assortments of quick comfort food. Decent menu of meat choices including cabeza, suadero, tripas, and lengua at $1.75 a taco. But the meat was a bit dry, and the sauces a little bland. This taco truck has grown from its younger days as a trailer pulled by a van. There's street parking available on Mountain Ave for easy access, and the crowd wasn't busy and the wait minimal. A small bench is available on the grass, convenient to grab gather your order before heading out.

This is the third time I gave you guys a try first 2 times I thought I maybe came late & guys were tired so I didn't mind but tonight was enough for me . First of all I got tripa tacos told you I didn't want them soggy to fry extra crispy & I repeated & they acknowledged it, the tacos were disgusting soggy almost uncooked. 2. Ordered Hotdog & sausage was uncooked & soaked in oil Got some old moldy radish that been sitting there for days probably I'm not one to leave bad reviews or try to hurt any business But this was unacceptable.

Meh truly sums up my experience and feeling towards this food truck. I stopped by this food truck on a Tuesday night around 7:15 pm. What surprised me about the menu board on the food truck is the lack of prices. When I asked the guy in the truck what was the prices, he told me it depends on what I order. This really bothers me because this guy can change whatever he wants instead of having a consist menu price. Anyways, for the tacos, most items are $1.50- $1.75 each. This is pretty pricey for a taco, especially on Taco Tuesday. I ended up getting a chicken burrito, $8.74 after tax. The chicken was pretty dry and rather tasteless. I really should have walked away after the guy told me about the pricing and my dissatisfaction of the price of a taco. But I was rather hungry (you really should never make decisions based on hunger...) and thought I might as well get something since I was already here. I initially wanted to get a chicken quesadilla but the guy talked me out of it, saying that the burrito is better and the same price. Inside my burrito was rice and beans. I honestly didn't think something so basic as a burrito could go wrong, but this food truck proved me wrong. :/ Service was not friendly and wait time was kind of long, considering that the guy in front of me only had a small order of tacos. I am sorry that I came here because this place was a waste of money and calories (I didn't even finish my burrito). Don't come here and go to any other place for better Mexican food.

Amazing, stop by if you can. Super quick and fresh. The meats are all fresh and ready to go. Love it.

I don't do food trucks...okay, I do, just not often. And mostly fancy ones at festivals, like the 626 market. After having the Al pastor burrito here though, I'm hooked! This is totally worth looking the other way, as most do to be able to stomach the food truck! My al pastor burrito, where to start. Handmade flour tortilla, excellent place to start. Handmade flour tortilla!! It's not dry, it's like those rare, doughy, moist, warm, delicious handmade flour tortillas...mmm. The inside: I'm not an al pastor fan. I only had a bite of someone's out of curiosity because they said it was Delish. That is where my habit began. This burrito has caramelized onions, I think that is what makes it different and delicious! The rest, beans, rice and all that was a follow-through. I later came and ordered my own al pastor, same...Delish. I have also tried their Chicken handmade quesadilla. Messy- be warned- but my god good!! The tacos are also pretty decent, which is why I stopped at 4 stars. They weren't 5 worthy, but definitely good. Hard to eff up a taco, you'd think, but it happens. These are good. Anyhoo, they seem to be building up a clientele (me included ^_^) so come check out that pastor and let me know what you thought

MY NEW TACO TRUCK!!! Came by here late Friday night with some friends and I just realized it's truck I've been passing on the way to walmart. It was my first time having tacos la dona and it is definitely not my last. In fact from now on it's going to be my go-to spot. I got the superfries here and they were SO GOOD. Fries were crispy, the cheese wasn't your regular cheese it was shredded and spread all over. Delicious and it was only $7. I feel like most places superfries are usually $8-10 so I was really surprised. The portion is pretty big as well. My friends ordered suaderno tacos and man... I'm going to forget all about carne asada for now and just keep ordering that. The meat was juicy and flavorful. I only had room for one taco that night but next time I'm definitely getting that and trying new taco meats. My friend ordered the al pastor and he said that was rly good as well.

Tasteless and a waste of effort. Don't bother!

Well third time is the charm right? Wrong! First 2 times I visited this place, was after a night of having some beers, thought maybe that was the reason why I didn't enjoy it. Well just went back, had al pastor, lengua, asada tacos and I can honestly say, nothing, I mean nothing had flavor. Guys are kind and truck is quick with the food, but every single meat I tried had very little to no flavor. It was cooked properly and all but no seasoning. Also every time I ask for cilantro and onions, well I get onions, missing cilantro. EVERY TIME! Green salsa is more like green paste. It has the consistency of jello. Weird. Honestly I hate putting up bad reviews but this place just doesn't belong in the taco scene. Then if you ask for salsa, they give you 1 container. Come on, the salsa makes the tacos! I originally come from Pasadena and well we had California tacos. However if you're out here in the Monrovia side, continue out to Azusa and stop at tacos el gavilan... skip this place. Could be just me but, I feel as if this is old food they have left over. Mmhmmm????

They know how to make an asada quesadilla but the pastor tacos was not my favorite. Good music and they seemed friendly.

I love the pickled onions, habaneros, sautéed onions, and the green chiles. The tacos surely hit the spot when you're hungry. The guys at the truck are so nice and if you get a chance to say hi George.

They are open till 11:30 PM, and they had a line of connoisseurs at 10 PM. I can see why! Their tacos are served hot and made on the spot. Their Asada Tacos with red sauce is great; they give it a great char and their salsa roja is savory and smoky. I especially love their Al Pastor Tacos: spicy, tender pork, with the sweetness of fresh pineapple to give that extra brightness and acidity. By far one of the best Al Pastor tacos I have had in a while, and they get extra bonus points for topping theirs with pineapple as some tacos trucks in LA don't do that all the time. Just thinking about it and typing this makes me want to head there but I will just have to wait till next time. Pro tip - the sprinklers go off on Santa Anita Ave around 10:30 PM, and my friends and I got sprayed so be careful not to stand on the grass during that time.
