This is a great place for lunch or dinner. Fish tacos are solid. The Govenador taco is one of my favorites. Queso Birria are on point and the Cheese Quesaddilla is the best I've ever had. I know how that sounds but it is. Salsa roja is good as well. Staff is friendly. Vibe feels like a Mexican Taqueria with costal influence. Overall, if you are in Duarte and are looking for some decent Mexican food, look no further.

I'm back with another review for Taco Ensenada in Duarte! This time, I ordered take-out and had the chance to try a few menu items I hadn't had before. Even though it wasn't Taco Tuesday or Thursday, the prices were still very reasonable--I got 8 tacos and a tostada de ceviche for about $35 total, which is a great deal for the portion sizes. Taco de Pastor: The flavor was bold and strong, maybe a little too heavy on the spices, but still incredibly delicious. The portion of protein was generous, so much so that I ended up mixing the meat with rice at home, and it was perfect! Tostada de 3 Ceviche: This time, I had it as take-out which comes in a different format than if I were to have it in the restaurant. It comes served in a drink cup with three tostadas, which I actually prefer. In the non-takeout version, the bottom tostada gets soggy, and you only get two tostadas. This way, you can build each tostada without the sogginess, and the portion was just right. Taco de Asada: The amount of meat in this taco was impressive. I had been feeling a bit of an iron deficiency, and this taco alone gave me a noticeable boost--super hearty and satisfying! Fish Tacos: Always a solid choice here, and still my favorite. Light, flavorful, and a must-have whenever I order from Taco Ensenada. The service was quick and efficient, just as I remember it from my previous visits. The atmosphere hasn't changed much, but I did notice a small upgrade--they added black cushions to the seating area in the back. Overall, Taco Ensenada continues to deliver great food at affordable prices with fast service. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already!

ohhhh my goodness the fish tacos are to die for ..... I asked for extra tomatoes which is why it looks like this by the way. The hot sauce is perfectly spicy not too caliente . I highly recommend to add extra cream on the tacos . I like the size of the restaurant; many seats, colorful walls & tv

This place has THE BEST Taco Tuesdays and BEST Taco Thursdays Ever! Taco Tuesdays, they offer 2x1 Crispy Fish Tacos! It ends up being $4.13 for 2 huge fish tacos, like seriously worth your $$! Taco Thursdays, they offer asada, carnitas, al pastor, etc for only $3.71 for 2 fully filled meat of choice tacos!!! There's also a taco condiment bar with jalapeños, pickled red onions, and freshly cut lime!

My son was craving tacos so we came here. It's a very spacious space with lots of tables so there's no shortage of seating. We ordered tacos dorado pollo ($3.99), taco de asada ($3.25) and when we saw they sold sushi (so random!), we had to try their version of a California roll ($14.99). Everything was good, even the California roll! It was unlike any CA Roll I've had before since it contained shrimp and cream cheese, but it wasn't bad. My oldest son tried it and didn't like it with the cheese. The tacos were bigger than I expected which was good since most Mexican taco places have those tiny street tacos. Solid place for good Mexican food if you're in the area!!

This place has an amazing fish taco Tuesday special! It's basically two for the price of one. It can get really busy on Tuesday and the parking lot is relatively small. The taste for these fish tacos are so good that I would pay full price for it!! There are a lot of people eating inside but it filters out really fast. No issues finding a seat. The staff works hard and does a good job fulfilling the orders. I'll be coming back

These are the best fish tacos I've had in a very long time! This is located right next to a laundromat. The place inside is spaciest. Food: delicious! Holy cow this was good. My friend recommended this spot for their tacos and it did not disappoint. From the batter to the cream to the salsa, it was delicious. Service: good! The front was helpful and was able to get my order in pretty quick. Thank you!

Sucks to have bad workers that are rude at a place with good food ! This place is greedy with salsa, ordering food for the family over $70 and only getting 2 salsas for the whole order is insane and cashier lady her name starts with a "Y" tried over charging for extra salsas. Said we could only get salsa with certain foods like what?? How even! Ridiculous.

One of the best carne asada meats in the area and is one of the places I will always go to when I'm craving for tacos. My significant other has been coming here since he was in high school (15 years ago) and when we moved back to the area this past year it's still just as good as he remember it. It's just bigger now since they expanded. Bathrooms are cleaned for the most part and there's an outside sink to wash your hands. There is no baby changing station though. The order taker is always so helpful and the wait time for food is usually about 10 minutes or less. Even when I went today during the lunch rush. We also get their fish tacos on Tuesdays and asada, pastor, chicken or carnitas tacos on Thursdays for their specials. Their nachos are stacked with cheese, beans, sour cream, pico de gallo, and guac. They also sell bottled cokes and desserts like flan. Plus they have onions, lemons, limes and chilies on a chilled cart. Their red and green salsas are addicting. No wonder why they charge 50 cents extra for them. They open until 10pm. So it's nice to have a spot to go to when I get off at work at night.

There are several locations. We've tried three. Sierra Madre is our favorite. Monrovia is a hit or miss and Duarte is always crowded. If you wanna place to sit with people, you're gonna wanna go to Monrovia or Duarte. Duarte definitely has the most seating. Sierra Madre has outdoor tables so if it's cold, that's something to consider. There's one or two small tables inside, but it is quite small. It's one of my favorite places to go, and I love their avocado tostada. I know it's more of a fish place, but I have yet to try any of the fish..

    Al Pastor. Absolute bomb!

Is this place ever actually open they don't pick up phone and last few times I've gone they've been closed?

The Duarte location is open. I have ordered over the phone several times.

Does anyone know why they never accept card most weekday nights? Everytime I go the machine is down for whatever reason and theyre cash only.

Cash is not easily traceable, easier to hide

    What are the daily specials?

Does this location not have a working number for phone orders? They never pick up.

They don't do phone orders unfortunately that's probably why they don't pick up.

What kind of fish is it? Is it fried tilapia?

The wait was long, but it was expected, and we weren't in any rush. The service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chorizo con papas, which came with beans and handmade tortillas. Everything was amazing, and I can't wait to go back. Another reason for this post is to apologize and recognize the incredible staff. We ended up staying about an hour after closing because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in nearly two years. We got so caught up talking and reminiscing that we didn't even realize we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Not once did anyone ask us to leave or make us feel like we had overstayed our welcome. We know staying that long after closing is inconsiderate, and it was never our intention. We sincerely apologize for that. Thank you to the entire staff for your patience, kindness, and hospitality. We truly appreciate you giving us the time to catch up, and we'll definitely be back--for the amazing food and the exceptional service.

Marias is in a strip mall with plenty of parking, but lots of traffic and commerce here so it took me a bit to find a spot. Inside is small, but comfortable and tidy. Asked for their medium salsa and it delivered. Not too spicy, not too mild. Had large chunks of potatoes in it. Could've sliced them to smaller pieces, but it was fine. - Horchata - 5/10: Not the homemade stuff, but the kind that came from a commercial dispenser. Expectedly meh. Staff was friendly and polite. The margaritas were honestly some of the worst we've had -- they tasted like straight margarita mix blended with ice, and we could barely drink them. The enchiladas were also very underwhelming, especially for the price. It was basically shredded chicken in tortillas with sauce, rice, and beans, and for $20 it just wasn't worth it. The food tasted very Americanized and lacked authentic Mexican flavor and seasoning. That being said, the customer service was amazing. The two ladies who helped us were incredibly attentive, kind, and kept checking on us. They offered extra drinks and multiple items, which we normally appreciate because when we go to Mexican restaurants we usually order multiple rounds and end with Cadillac margaritas. Unfortunately, the drinks were so bad we didn't want to order anything else, but their effort and service did not go unnoticed. One small disappointment was when I asked for hot sauce to add more flavor to my green sauce enchiladas, and I was brought the same red enchilada sauce instead, which made the meal worse. I am a food and beverage manager myself, and I can honestly say I would hire those two servers in a heartbeat because they were fabulous. The service was excellent -- it's just the food and drinks that really need improvement.

After finishing the survey, I received a confirmation email for the dessert. When I showed the digital confirmation to our waitress, she had to get an approval from Alex the manager. Alex asked to see my phone to "prove" the receipt, then told the waitress the offer was actually meant for graduates only. Nowhere on the survey, the confirmation email, or any promotional material I saw was this graduate restriction mentioned. If I had known, I wouldn't have spent time filling out the survey. To make matters worse, I frequent this restaurant and have noticed that It Alex never visits any of the tables to check on customers. But he has no problem sitting with his family as though he owns the place. Offering a reward for completing a survey, then adding restrictions only after a customer tries to redeem it, feels misleading. A simple heads-up in the survey would have saved everyone time and frustration. I frequent this restaurant weekly and spend well over $100.00 on breakfast for both me and my wife we enjoy the food and the service we receive from the team but since Alex never visits any tables or customers while I'm there for Alex to question his own company's promotion I feel Alex should do his due diligence and know what his company his promoting. Thank you to the staff is why we frequent this establishment. Alex please do better. Thank you. David
