I like the chimichangas and the pork and beef tacos. I usually order once a week and its always consistently tasty.

In my opinion I would rather pay extra for the food on the menu than pay a service charge for using a credit card. I also do not like to be charged extra for sour cream, or extra for beef vs chicken, etc. Also, $4 for a soft drink seems excessive! read more

Tacos locos has been a taco join I've avoided for a long time. Years ago (8+ years) I had a bad experience and have avoided the place ever since. Today I figured it was time to give another shot and it just goes to show that sometimes you need to try a place again to see if maybe the last time was just a one off like. Tacos Locos is situated in a tiny strip mall. There is parking and it has a surprising amount of inside seating for such a small place. At the register I was greeted by a younger man who promptly took my order and as he was typing the order the cook was watching and already getting the food in the grill. To say the food is quick is an understatement. I got a chicken taco and a steak burrito. Not crazy frills or artisan tacos here. This place is all about authentic tacos w minimal ingredients. The chicken taco was alright, it was a pulled chicken tinga, I thought it could use a little more flavor but what I liked is that it was not dry. It can topped with lettuce tomato and onion. Next I had the burrito, it was fresh off the grill tiny pieces of inside skirt steak. This isn't some juicy flank or outside skirt steak but then again that wasn't my expectation. The burrito was pretty good. I grabbed the red salsa which the lady serving my food said was spicy. I thought it was a good heat and flavor although it was a bit on the watery side. Overall the experience was good and If you're looking for traditional tacos and or need a quick fix this place is for you. If you're looking for something special and different then look someplace else. read more

First AND LAST time I'll go here!!!! I ordered a steak torta and two pastor tacos and when I was leaving with my order the bag DIDN'T feel like 18$. I sat in my car because I was not going to let this food get cold and first looking at the wrapping I thought they messed up my order and gave me a small size burrito and when I opened it, it looked like a very small torpedo sandwich. This "torta" had no flavor, very little meat so I had to drown it with their mediocre salsa. The two tacos were as small a street taco size and the pastor was lacking explosive taste. Just an OVERPRICED establishment with bland flavor. There are a lot more options in this neighborhood, I didn't see a Taco Bell though. read more

I am no longer in the area, but was in the neighborhood so got some Tacos Locos (steak) tacos to go. Unfortunately the steak quality seems to have declined a bit since pre-pandemic. The steak in the Tacos Locos that we got was a bit tough to chew and tasted a bit gamey. I had to drown it in salsa to finish eating them. Tacos Locos is a tiny strip mall gem serving up ample portions of flavorful eats. We were on a drive from Louisville to Milwaukee and needed a bite to eat. Not knowing the area, we consulted the Yelp app to see if there were any local businesses nearby (as we noticed a lot of chains). Tacos Locos popped up! It's a small space, but they do have several tables (mostly for two). I noticed plenty of people dropping in for takeout orders as well. I ordered their chicken quesadilla, which was huge and flavorful. It came served with both sour cream and guac. The dining room was impeccably clean, the service was friendly, and our food came out quickly. The only down side to the experience was the radio they had playing while we were there. Holy volume. I popped in here solo when I was visiting for a business trip. I was promptly greeted, seated, and given a menu and water. The menu was impressive! (and this is coming from a gal that lived in practically Mexico, aka Arizona for 10 years) The delicious chips and salsa came out very quickly. The salsa was great and just the right amount of spicy! I ordered 2 tacos and a side of veggies for a light dinner. The special chicken taco was flavored nicely and the veggie taco was stellar. My grilled seasonal veggies were quite delicious and the grilled jalepeno on the side was the perfect touch to my perfect light dinner. Great food, great service, and a great price. Per a friends recommendation I opted to try this Mexican restaurant as good ones are hard to come by in the area. WOW!!!! I am thrilled that I did - one of the BEST MEXICAN takeout meals we have ever had!! Everything was SUPER FRESH and done with authenticity!!! The tomatillos was executed precisely, wonderful mint green, and a soft fire that caresses the palate just enough to say "Hola". My carne asada torta was incredible, the bread just crispy enough on the outside, while oven warm and pillow soft inside. The steak was done very well; Tender and seasoned just right. I called and ordered 25 tacos with everything on the side as I was in a crunch for time before an event. Not only was my order ready in under 20 minutes, but they had all the sides very nicely packaged and the tacos individually wrapped and in a tray. I just had to put the tray out for my guests and I served a wonderful dinner! They went above and beyond and made my guests happy and the food was hot and delicious as always. I'm a local so when I want Mexican food fast Tacos Locos is in the perfect spot. Easily accessible, plenty of parking and never too busy. However, every single time I go there the food sucks. I mean, do they actually taste their product and say, "wow this is a hit ". I have given them plenty of chances but they are consistently bad. Rice is never warm and tastes stale a few of them hardened as if they've been recooked throughout the week, beans are watery and taste canned. But the worst offense of them all is their steak/carne asada. Of course you wouldn't notice that there is hardly any actual carne in your tacos since they come offensively covered in cilantro and onions but if you remove half of that you will see that most of the carne is actually nerves. This is not my first time observing this. I've ordered tacos plenty of times from here, this is a pattern. If you are really hungry and end up here, the safest bet is to just order the black bean soup which is halfway decent. read more

My friend is a flight attendant for Virgin America, and on overnight layovers these hard-working folks get put up at the swank Hotel Intercontinental near O'Hare (Sir Richard Branson knows how to treat his crew). The problem is, unless you want to eat at McCormick and Schmicks, the Capitol Grill or other similarly priced eateries, you're basically screwed out here. Enter Tacos Locos. Apparently all the flight attendants know, and love, this place. And with good reason. Good food, nice service, decent prices. This is small digs. The place is tiny, only a handful of tables, with one waiter working hard to keep up with it all and it looked like one cook in the back. Still, both were gamely crankin', and though you will obviously wait a while for your food, it was worth it overall. She and I didn't mind the wait since we wanted to catch up chatting, but next time we could always call in an order, as many others seem to do [saw a lot of people coming and going], pick it up and take it back to the hotel for more space to stretch out (again: tiny restaurant = not much elbow room). We ordered the queso appetizer, which here is the strange stretchy melted Chihuahua cheese, a piece of which you attempt to sever from the whole glob and tuck into a tortilla while grease runs down your arm. I just don't understand how this is supposed to work, but I still haven't mastered it yet. I love cheese in all forms so I will probably keep trying. Then the tacos. I got three: steak, chicken and chorizo. Once digging out from under MOUNDS of cilantro, I was able to get at them. The steak was least appealing: the meat was chopped fine so it cooked up rather tough, and just wasn't very exciting in flavor. The chicken was shredded and tasty, but the most memorable and flavorful was the chorizo, with the pleasant stinging zing of peppers, balanced by the crispness of lettuce and onion. Also, I had the best horchata of my LIFE here. Not too watery, and laden with an abundance of cinnamon. I'm sure there will be a return visit the next time my friend has a layover. We sat ourselves, server was very polite and came over quickly. I ordered the chicken taco loco and steak taco loco. Decent food, but for my taste it might have be a bit seasoned. Very good beans and rice. Tacos a little dry, peppers extremely hot. First time I tried the milky dring to cool the peepers off. Indians have their natural yogurt whereas mexicans have this water. Very nice and really cools of the fire in the mouth. Very good soup based on beans and meet. This place was surprisingly good. I happened to stop by here because I was coming back into the city from the burbs and was starving! There was no way I would make it back to the city in Friday night rush hour without having dinner. It looks like a "meh" taco place from the outside but the food was outstanding!!! Plus, they serve alcohol -a huge plus (lol). I was impressed that the salad was real greens and not crappy iceberg. I had the lemon tilapia which was OUTSTANDING.
