    Molcajete Mixto

Walked in here by random chance and ordered the molcajete mixto... It was amazing. Easily shareable! My girlfriend ordered the mole enchiladas and wasnt as happy but she got to have my octopus and part of my seabass

A great find from a friend - we love a good Taco Tuesday deal! FOOD The meat quality is great here and tastes flavorful, but the servings seem on the smaller side. I've had their tacos and burritos so far. It's slightly smaller than what I'd expect, but the meat (especially the carne asada) tastes like high quality meat and is cooked perfectly (not burnt, tough, or overcooked!) Taco Tuesday Deal - $1.50 per taco Regular price- $2.59 per taco Meat choices- Asada, Pollo, Pastor, Chorizo, Carnitas, Cabeza SERVICE Great service, friendly staff. It can get busy, so sometimes the salsa bar isn't filled regularly. The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained too. AMBIANCE They just opened so the ambiance can be a little quiet/empty. Parking is spacious/easy, and there's enough dining space for large parties. Located in a not-so-busy strip mall that isn't very well-lit during the night.

    Chicken quesadilla

Awesome surprise! We have found a local spot that we will definitely visit whenever we have a craving for Mexican. We shared a chicken quesadilla and carne asada street tacos. It was a fair size and the salsa bar was fun to make additions of radishes, onions and cilantro, etc. Sofia was our server and she couldn't have been nicer. She was very attentive to the entire place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, the restaurant had lots of tables for seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very clean and it had soccer on the 3 large screen TVs[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Not sure how it happened? This place was a pizza spot for years. They actually used to work with the school I work for.The owner was so awesome and did so much for the school and I'm so sad they lost the spot. But now let's get to it. Now it's a taco spot with some delicious food and nice staff. Check them out.

    Machaca Breakfast Burrito

I love Machaca con huevos, so when I saw it as an option for a breakfast burrito I had to order it. And they did not disappoint. The sprinkling of green bell pepper added a nice touch. By the end of the burrito my hands were soaked in all the yumminess of the burrito. I could only eat half cause damn the burrito was large. Which is an added bonus for a second meal. Great value and good food. I'll be back.

Mateo is a great restaurant with tons of choices and alcohol as well. Overall great food customer service only thing is turn the AC on.

Overall great food and customer service. Alcohol as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Turn the AC on is the only thing that needs to be done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The worst food ever the only thing that was good were the condiments the salsa!!

Ordered two fish tacos, and chicken wings the fish tacos were so horrible. They were not edible. It was all breading no fish chicken wings were soggy. And they charge $26.00

    Filet de Pescado Taco

Tried this place out and I was blown away by the cleanliness and care of the staff. I ordered the Fish Filet Tacos, Al Pastor and Asada Tacos and they were simply delicious. The fish was and meat were all cooked perfectly and I loved the customizable nature of the meat tacos. The experience overall was blissfully pleasant and so clean. One small detail that I would change is the channel that the TVs are on because having three TVs playing different things made things a little more hectic. The highlight of the evening was how nice the staff was and their incredible that goes above and beyond to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. Definitely will become a regular and highly recommend checking out this place! Taco Tuesday has a great deal worth checking out!

Got a bean and cheese burrito and it was awful. Almost no beans just unmelted cheese. At least 80% cheese. Never again.

Chilaquiles were horrible. Red sauce was watery. Eggs were overdone. Chips were bland and not home cooked. Carne asada meat was hard.

Review #1,082 Posted on 7.8.26…read more We stopped in here for a late night burrito & quesadilla on Sunday night the 5th after driving up from the Bay prior & getting checked into our room. This spot is located in a small strip mall shortly off the freeway on La Palma Ave in Anaheim. The food was really good, I was impressed with the meat portions in our burritos & quesadilla. There was a ton of meat. Both the red & green salsas were hot but still edible too. The rice & beans were quality as well. Highly recommend hitting this local spot up as they stay open late, and serve quality food.

I asked for their Birria tacos, the lady said this location doesn't have the Birria menu. Which is weird because other Yelpers posting a pic of their menu and it's their Birria menu. But alright. I proceeded to order and asked for their street tacos. She didn't tell me this is a cash only location also. So I went to go pick up/pay and when I go in to pay the man says, "cash only." I offered debit card, tap, Zelle. Nope. Cash only. Sucks they don't tell you over the phone. It's not advertised online either. I don't know what it is about this location. But imma keep my business at the Whittier location where they're friendly, offer their Birria menu, and other ways to pay.

I usually have enough leftovers to take home and have for lunch the next day. Parking is a bit sparse, but there's residential spots available next door and within walking distance (as well as my favorite romance bookstore, Heartbound Bookshop). The agua de melón was delicious, and the side of beans was excellent. We also ordered a plain quesadilla, and it was surprisingly really good. The menudo itself was just okay--not bad, but nothing special. The reason I'm giving 2 stars isn't because the staff were rude, but they definitely weren't friendly or welcoming. My biggest concern, however, was what I witnessed with the condiments. When you order menudo, they bring a plate with limes, onions, and chili. I watched two employees clear tables, throw away some items, but keep the unused onions and uncut lime wedges from customers' plates and take them back into the kitchen to be served again. Even if I didn't use all of the onions or limes, that doesn't mean I didn't touch them. Reusing food that has already been on a customer's table is unsanitary and unacceptable. After seeing that, it made me wonder whether other items, like leftover chips, might also be reused. Whether or not that's the case, what I witnessed was enough to make me lose confidence in their food handling practices. Unfortunately, I won't be returning

I used to work here years ago so I know how much care goes into the food & drinks. The Puesto Perfect Margarita is still my favorite margarita I've ever had. Everything is made fresh & you can absolutely taste the difference. I always order mine with a sugar rim. It's consistently refreshing, balanced & incredibly smooth. We stopped by on a Monday around 4:30 p.m. just before happy hour ended. It was nice & relaxed when we arrived. It only started getting a little busier as we were leaving. We took advantage of happy hour & ordered a few favorites. The potato taquitos have been one of my go-to menu items for years & are just as delicious as I remembered. Crispy on the outside, flavorful inside & served over a generous bed of fresh guacamole that makes every bite even better. We also tried one of the newer happy hour items the short rib mini burrito served with a green sauce. Both my husband & I really enjoyed it. The short rib was tender & the sauce added the perfect amount of brightness. I was happily snacking on the chips with the molcajete salsa. It's one of my favorite restaurant salsas. I also love the chips with Puesto Perfect guacamole. It makes it hard to stop eating. Since it was my birthday I treated myself to a Tropical Candy Shot. If you like bold flavors definitely order one. It reminded me of a Mexican street candy in shot form with a Tajín rim & a pineapple garnish. It was festive, flavorful & the perfect birthday treat. The sweetest surprise of the evening was the complimentary birthday dessert. A slice of pistachio tres leches cake. I love tres leches but I've never had a pistachio version before. It was incredibly moist & rich without being too heavy. The pistachios added the perfect crunch & nutty flavor. It was one of the highlights of the meal. One small detail I always appreciate is that they bring a pitcher of water to the table. This makes it easy to refill your glass throughout the meal without waiting. It's a thoughtful touch that makes the dining experience feel more comfortable. I'm so glad we came back after not visiting for quite a while. I love the consistently amazing margaritas, delicious happy hour menu, & warm hospitality. The thoughtful birthday surprise made it even better. It was a wonderful way to celebrate. I'll definitely be back! If you're visiting for the first time do yourself a favor & order the Puesto Perfect Margarita & potato taquitos. Also save room for the pistachio tres leches if it's available.
