So I have had this place twice now and have enjoyed them both times. The first time I got their asada muleta and it was soo filling. I didn't know how big they were so I got four and only could finish 2. Lol I also got a side of consome to dip it in. It was flavorful and with lime, perfection. Today I ordered for myself and my friend. She got the pastor tacos and a side of rice. I got an asada quesadilla and side of consome again. The taco looked like a regular street taco. They weren't stingy with the pastor meat which I LOVE. Wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad either. Same with the quesadilla. Loaded with asada, onions, cheese, and cilantro. Flavors are definitely there but for me I wouldn't travel to get to it, but its perfect for an afternoon lunch if you're on this side of town. I hope that makes sense. I don't hate it though. We went this past Thursday thinking this would be faster than a restaurant. We literally waited 45 minutes for our food. It looked like the cashier and only 2 people in the kitchen. I got a side cup and wanted dr. Pepper, then walked over and realized it said 'out of order' on dr. Pepper. The bathrooms were a mess. The salsa bar didn't even have salsa. Only 3 bottles of salsa for the whole place to share? No limes. Just everything was not good. We also were going to get a beer, but they said it they weren't selling alcohol right now because their liquor license was expired and they were waiting for the renewed license in the mail. Basically this place was totally run down and not prepared for a Thursday. We used to love this place but our last few visits have been a let down and waiting 45 minutes for a burrito, some tacos and a quesadilla is totally unacceptable! read more

The cheese quesaberria, omg was incredible glad we followed his favs. I had the juiciest Pastor tacos along with generous salsa bar toppings including guacamole! Wtf happened here? I've been coming since they opened. My order never takes more that 5 minutes to hit the table. Tonight same order, no food for 25 minutes. The cashier said they were backed up. There were two people in there besides me. Then she said they were busy earlier and ran out of stuff. Did you run out of beef, cheese or corn tortillas because that's all my order consisted of? Also how do you lose a liquor license? No beer, no tacos and your A/C set at 82 is enough too make sure I don't come back. You'll be out of business in 6 months anyway with this nonsense. read more

Look- I have given this place a 5 star review in the past but my last two experiences has been terrible - awful and pathetic. First of all I ordered two orders of rice for my son that is autistic and they literally gave me two 1/2 skimped orders - I also ordered tacos and selected to get hot sauce and pay for extra (this was a delivery) and they sent zero hot sauce , I promise you that no one working there would eat this food with out the sauce . The food was also not at the same standard ! Apparently their success has gotten them to a point that quality and customer care does not matter. I have recommended this place to so many people and now I suppose I'll have to in do that and tell everyone about the terrible food the terrible customer care and the skimping on the product. Regardless, this place will always get five stars from me. They have some of the most tender pastor and asada that is full of flavor. Now I don't recommend getting a family style platters if you car about presentation however everything on the menu is bomb! Food wise. I don't really care for the horchata, can taste a little watered down but beyond that every piece of food on this menu is worth eating twice, in one setting. It's not a typical restaurant, order your food and wait but worth it. We were impressed. The food was delicious, it was fresh, it was flavorful, and it was plentiful. The menu was easy to read and the prices were fair. I had the Carne Asada taco and the meat was firm and had a nice Char, the Al Pastor was so good! They even have an option for grilled pineapples which was a much needed addition. My last taco was the Queso Birria and it exceeded my expectations. Everyone in the party agreed we would return! The facility was clean and the employee was so helpful and accommodating. Awful food poisoning. Came yesterday for lunch with a group of 4 adults and a 3 year old and ordered a couple dozen tacos (steak, chicken, Al pastor) to share as a group. The food was great per usual, but by dinner time we all started to get sick and were up all night violently puking and #2. Came to this little taco joint for lunch and the tacos are good. The burrito ms are big and delicious as well. The only thing I saw that I didn't like was the girl cleaning the tables with no gloves and then going to the condiments and cleaning and handling the salsa bottles. I usually order from the Tacos Tijuana on 51st & Peoria, but since they were closed on Wednesday, I went to this location instead and placed my usual order: two carne asada burritos and two al pastor tacos for myself and my girlfriend. Unfortunately, neither of us could finish the carne asada -- and I always finish my food. The meat tasted off, left a foul aftertaste, and seemed spoiled or like it had been left out too long. We called and left a voicemail the same night but received no response. I called again the next day, and the manager refused to do anything about it. To make matters worse, both of us woke up with stomach aches the next morning. Thankfully, we didn't eat more of it. As Shawna stated in another review it also smelled like sewage inside when I came to pickup food. Having worked in restaurants for nearly a decade before COVID, I know how customer complaints should be handled -- and this was a shameful response. Solid taco spot. They only serve two meats, al pastor and carne asada. The pastor is the better of the two (more flavorful) but the asada was still good! We ordered a couple tacos, a mulita, and a burrito with beans no rice. The corn tortillas are homemade and the flour tortillas are not. I have to say, you can definitely tell the homemade corn tortillas apart! They had a nice thickness and chew. The burrito was pretty good, had a good amount of meat but I would ask to add cheese or guac next time. There's a lot of seating inside the restaurant and food is served quickly. Our Taco Tuesdays keep getting better and better, since we moved to the northwest part of the valley. We found Tacos Tijuana through both Yelp and Delta SkyMiles. Both had very positive, Four Star reviews. And as someone else has noted, Tacos Tijuana is nothing fancy. But their Al Pastor is amazing. Tonight, we went with Al Pastor mini tacos, Al Pastor Vampiro, Al Pastor burrito and the Carne Asada Quesadilla (yes, someone in our family had to be different)! All the food was delicious and more importantly flavorful. Our TT bill @ TT ran us only thirty bucks for four. But given the tastiness of the food, that's a steal. Enjoy! read more

That speaks volumes about the quality and service of their food. Let's be honest, Arizona's food scene is significantly behind. As someone who was raised in LA, with the best Mexican food outside of Mexico, and drove down to Tijuana multiple times just for food, Tacos Tijuana did not disappoint whatsoever. For me, and I'm sure many will agree, what differentiates a great taco from a good taco is the tortilla. Whether it's flour or corn, it's the texture and taste of the tortilla. Just from the presentation, you can immediately tell if it's store-bought, mass-produced, machine-cut, tortillas, or if it's homemade. Tacos Tijuana's tortillas were VERY similar to the ones I've had in LA, San Diego, and Mexico. Now, it's not as tasteful, however, it's not bland by any means. If you're familiar with the iconic El Gordo (known for the best Tijuana-style tacos in America), Tacos Tijuana can't compare. But if you compare it to other Mexican restaurants in Arizona, Tacos Tijuana is where it's at. Oh, and don't expect Tijuana prices. Can't find $0.50 tacos here. $3 is the starting price. What can you say about Tacos Tijuana? It's a spacious taco spot that's may be considered slightly divey, but it does the trick. They've got a few different types of menu items (i.e. tacos, burritos, quesadillas) but there's only two meats to choose from: Carne Asada and Al Pastor. I know a lot of people say the pork is tastier, but I think they're about even. Regardless, I usually only come here for Taco Tuesday because it's close, and they're perfect for the price (20% off on Tuesdays). Due to the limited menu items, I'd say a solid 3 stars is fair- but I wouldn't go as far to say these tacos are mind-blowing. But if you're in need of a quick taco fix, then this is your spot. The horchata isn't that great at all. I definitely won't be ordering that again from here. One-and-Done.
