Asked a friend for a breakfast recommendation in the area to cater a volunteer event and was referred to Armando's :) I had never tried so totally went out on a limb ordering 3 dozen breakfast burritos for the volunteer crew. Spoke to Noe on the phone and he helped make the ordering and delivery process seamless! I ordered the machaca, hash, Mexicana, and potato burritos and received great feedback from the volunteers regarding all the burritos! They went sooo fast I didn't even have time to snap a couple photos! I personally tried the hash and Mexicana and was very pleased with both. Very large and full of fillings and flavor! The total came out to about $10/burrito including dozens of ramekins of salsa plus a delivery charge which I thought was very reasonable. It's unbelievable the way they treated me after I was a customer for three years yesterday, Friday, May 30, after working late at night, I was really hungry and didn't have enough time to cook dinner, so I went to the restaurant where I always buy food before closing, but the workers there shocked me and didn't serve me and asked me to leave after I repeated my order, maybe they would serve me food. Unfortunately, I left broken by the way they treated me and went looking for food at Filiberto's, which is close to my house. The surprise was wonderful. The food was very good and not salty like Armando's. In addition, they add other things to the same dish that I prefer, such as sour cream. The quantity was more than what Armando's offers. My decision after eating at Filiberto's was that I will never deal with Armando's because they do not respect me at all. read more

I used the drive through to order a breakfast burrito. The menu listed a chorizo burrito as $8.14. I asked what was in it and was told chorizo and egg. I like potatoes in my burrito and he said I could add those, which I did. I got to the window and he told me the price was $12 and change. I said it costs $4 to add potatoes. He said it costs $2 for potatoes but that egg prices had gone up as well. There was a handwritten sign at the drive up window but it didn't say how much the addition was. I told the guy they should adjust their pricing on the sign and make it more clear. The guy said "eggs are expensive" and "there was a notice posted on the menu". But if it was anything like the sign at the window then at best it was vague and/or hard to read. A near 50% up charge for maybe a 1/3 cup of potatoes and an egg premium is ridiculous. I know that egg prices have gone up but that's nuts. I can still buy 2 dozen eggs at Costco for less than $10. Bulk buying from a supplier has got to cost less. And $2 for potatoes?? If that's the case then make it a filling enormous burrito. Load up those potatoes. There was a measly amount in this burrito. And potatoes cost about $5 for 10lbs. I understand there are other costs that go into pricing but $2 for that amount of potatoes is a rip off. It's not guacamole. I'd pay $2 for that because avocados cost a whole lot more. Oh by the way, the burrito does not come with cheese. That's an upcharge too. As for the flavor...it was okay. The chorizo was cooked with the eggs so the flavors were muddled. It really needed the salsa that came with it to make it interesting. Overall, I think this place is overpriced for what you get. Everyone's flavor profile is different, but it didn't wow me. That's why I'm giving it an extra star. Plus I didn't go inside so can't comment on the ambiance. If I'm in the area again, I'd try the taco truck (Carter's Las Delicias) across the street instead of Armando's. read more

Was going to hit the drive through for a quick bite on our way home from Williams but we decided to go in, sit down and eat there. Really glad we tried Armando's because our experience was good. The lady behind the counter wasn't the most friendly and had a bit of a scowl on her face but she wasn't rude or anything - just to the point and uhhh, efficient. My husband had a carne asada burrito and a cheese quesadilla. He said both were very good. In fact, the carne wasn't all gristly and was almost a bit shredded because it was so tender. He said it had great flavor and he really enjoyed it. I'm especially glad we went inside because I was able to get menudo. The menudo was very flavorful and full of tripe and hominy and served with delicious tortillas, oregano, onion, cilantro and lemon. I added some of the red salsa and it was perfect. Love that you can have all the sides that make menudo so special. There was so much in my bowl that I was only able to eat about one third of it and take the rest home. That's my lunch today! I always order their bowls! They are soo amazing and fresh! With avocados, tomatoes, onions, beans, cilantro, rice and the meat of your choice! One of the few places in America where you can get fresh food fast! Way better than chipotle bowls. Here you won't feel terrible after eating their food like with most places! The rice could be slightly less mushy and of course it would be nice if you'd soak and cook your beans from scratch... the fresher the better really but it's already pretty good as it is! I do have a situation with getting charged 20 dollars for one taco on october 31 2023 and the manager there refused to return the difference unless I arrived with a bank statement printout , because i wasnt given a receipt and didnt have one. Armando's reminds my wife and I of the awesome food we had for years while visiting/living in Veracruz, Mexico. I'm sure like any place at times it can be hit or miss, yet we have never had a bad plate from here. Last night, we ordered from Grubhub to get our food from Armando's. I ordered the $4.95 Taco salad, it was huge. My wife had the Taco/Tostada combination. So much food that she had leftovers for lunch today. She loved every bite as well. That was only $5.95. Because I give thorough directions, the Grubhub driver was fast and early too. So far, after eating there off and on for a few years, we still love Armando's. BTW, my taco salad shell was nice, Dark and crispy. Since it had shredded beef you'd be afraid that the grease would ruin it because of delivery...Nope. There was some grease of course, it's shredded beef, yet it only adds to the authentic flavor. For those who would rather eat at some place like Filibertos, enjoy your over priced Taco Bell. So........I'm pretty much "anti burrito" in the state of AZ, because I haven't found anything that can compare to the burritos you can get in San Diego. I've had a few here in AZ, and they just don't compare. The other day though, I was craving a burrito. 7:45 AM, a breakfast burrito it is....... I went through the drive through here at Armando's and got myself a steak, egg and cheese burrito, and added potatoes. My total was $7.03 (little bit high for a breakfast burrito, but it was worth it), paid the nice drive through lady my money, and took my burrito to work. Here is how it was................ Breakfast Burrito- I unwrapped this thing and saw a beautiful charred tortilla that looked delicious! I took a bite into this thing and knew right away that I had found a winner! The layering of this thing was perfect! Every square inch of this burrito had bites of potato, egg and steak. It may have been the best layered breakfast burrito I have ever seen. A lot of times, you get the egg folded in and strips of steak and huge chunks of potatoes. Not in this one! This had perfectly scrambled and mixed up fluffy eggs, little tiny pieces of steak, soft potatoes and bites of that heavenly tortilla all the way down. The only complaint I have is the skimpness of the cheese. Seemed like it was melted onto the tortilla while it was griddled, but it was really skimp. Could hardly taste any of it. The other ingredients made it up for it though. They also have killer salsas here! The red one was just spicy enough, and the real star of the show was the green tomatillo based salsa verde. It was DELICIOUS! Some of the best green salsa I have ever had. Great taste, little flecks of cilantro and onions in it. Damn fine salsa! Overall, it was a very, very good breakfast burrito. A little bit high on price ($7.03), but it was a good sized burrito and the flavors were great! I'll be back once a breakfast burrito craving hits! read more

I waited three days before I wrote this review. I always liked armandos, I was a regular for 20 years at the 59th ave and McDowell store. This however is only to do with the deer valley store. My opinion of this Armandos was the prices keep escalating and the service keeps deteriorating. A few days ago was the final straw as they say. I ordered breakfast burrito over the phone..then went picked up the burrito, mind you the place was empty and there was only one burrito in the windows. The elderly gentleman grabbed my burrito and asked if I wanted sauce, I declined like I always do because I eat everything plain. Anyway I left the store went to where my plans were that day and realized they gave me wrong burritto...I was frustrated because I couldn't go all the way and get another burritto..so I called he apologized and I told him I couldn't return to the store to get my brkfast burrito until 4 pm ...he apologized and No oroblem..but there was. The elderly gentleman didn't leave a note for next shift but I asked girl to call him and she would realize I'm not trying to get over.. She calls and he tells her Yes He got wrong burrito and they had my burrito sitting in the windows the right one . However she asked if I had the burrito from this morning , I said no I don't, well in order to get your right burrito we need the one we gave you when we made the mistake this morning and caused you not to eat for hours because you couldn't possibly eat the one they gave me because I don't like it. So because this gentleman was to lazy to make sure I had been given the right burrito in an empty restaurant I went without eating for hours, had to go back to get burrito and was told no burrito from this morning no burrito that you ordered made right you already paid for no not unless you pay again..I refused and only told her that's it I'm done with this armandos never coming back..the girl responded that's fine good bye as I walked out..I spent 50 a week there and my friends to ...no more filbertos here we come read more
