Haru Sushi absolutely lived up to the hype! We were recommended this spot and were excited to try it, and it did not disappoint. The first thing that stood out was the beautiful interior design. The space feels modern, stylish, and inviting, making it perfect for a date night or even a solo dining experience. The aesthetic bar area creates a great atmosphere, and while we chose to sit inside, they also have a lovely covered patio for those who prefer outdoor seating. The food and customer service were both excellent. Portions were generous, flavors were on point, and every dish we ordered was enjoyable. We started with the Heart Attack, garlic edamame, and shrimp tempura appetizers. The garlic edamame was especially memorable--I loved the addition of sesame oil, which added so much flavor and made it stand out from the typical version. To drink, we ordered green tea and a Sapporo on draft. The Sapporo was light, crisp, and airy--definitely something I would order again. For our main dishes, we enjoyed the Sensei Roll, the Screaming "O" Roll, and a nigiri plate from the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious, but the Screaming "O" Roll was the clear highlight of the meal and a must-order in my opinion. The food is very good. The fresh fish is exactly as it should be- fresh. It didn't blow my mind, though. The service was fine and met expectations. Let's talk about the prices. Some of their specialty rolls are $50/roll!!! I repeat- FiIFTY American dollars per roll. I don't know that I've seen prices that high even in Scottsdale or Las Vegas. There's no reason that this casual sushi spot should be charging like they're off the coast of Japan in an elite cliffside restaurant. The food is very good, but it's not "I need to finance this meal", $50/roll good. Also.. I asked for the WiFi password (literally titled "Haru Sushi Guest") so I could work on my laptop if needed, just to be told they were not allowed to give out their WiFi password out to anyone (even the staff aren't allowed to use it). Kind of silly to be gatekeeping something as simple as WiFi in the year 2026. I would have loved to make this my new working lunch spot, but between the egregiously high prices and the WiFi witness protection program, I'll be skipping it next time. read more

So happy to have found a legitimate place for real & fresh sushi in the West Valley!! Previously I would be subject to driving out to Sushi Sen in Scottsdale for sushi/Japanese food. Haru is a nice alternative that is much closer and offers an omakase plate that rivals some of the best sushi you can find in Torrance/LA. The pricing of this omakase is steep at $70 for 8pcs of premium fish plus a toro roll but worthwhile for a special occasion or to get your fix. Pricing on their happy hour seems pretty reasonable as well which is most weekdays until 6pm. Pricing on the rest of the menu is fair but doesnt quite exceed expectations in terms of value for money, especially compared to Sushi Sen. My mom, who is an incredibly tough critic, really enjoyed the soft shell crab tempura and said it wasn't oily or greasy. I have to agree. I enjoyed their "tuna cracker" which is like spicy tuna crispy rice at most other restaurants. I've already been back a second time within the same week and will probably be back again within the month. Highly recommend! read more

Wish there was a higher ranking on Yelp for this place. We came in search for great sushi and boy did we find a gem in Glendale! Nestled and hidden spot in a shopping center this place put many sushi joints to shame! I am a huge snob when it comes to sushi but Haru knocked it out of the park and I believe we have found a new favorite sushi spot. The sake is nice and hot and smooth and be sure you order an ice cold beer (my preference is Kirin Light) to chase it! We also tried the Ramune soda pop that was a fun way to enjoy a soda straight from Asia! Our appetizers were garlic chili edamame and the very yummy tuna crackers which are a fried rice and spicy tuna combo style treat. We tried a few different sushi rolls and it was so good we had to ask for a menu to order more! Our waitress was very kind and helpful with suggesting which rolls we would like based on cuts of fish we desired. The feast started off with a spectacular Lobster Fire Roll that is served on a skillet and is literally on fire as it is brought to you. Super awesome presentation. The Seared Salmon Roll, a hearty roll with great flavor and freshness of salmon. We also had the spicy tuna roll, Hawaiian Roll, The Screaming "O", and my favorite of them all was the "Kiss of Fire". I could have had everything on their menu but didn't because then my bill would have been looking like the long receipts you get at CVS. The price is a few bucks higher per roll than what I am used to but to be honest it does not break the bank and is definitely worth it! The kids ended up getting a little bit of mochi ice cream as they offer you one for free if you give them a review! If you visit Haru Sushi and pay with a credit card, make sure to check your transaction once it's posted. My bill had an unauthorized $8 added, which is how I discovered a recurring issue. I've been a regular customer at Haru Sushi for over six years, starting shortly after Chu opened the restaurant. Later, Andrew took over management, and now Nick is the current manager. I order takeout about 95% of the time, and I typically don't leave a tip for takeout. A few years ago, when Andrew was managing, someone added a $10 tip to my bill without my authorization. Andrew apologized and resolved it professionally, and I appreciated his handling of the situation. Unfortunately, in August 2025, a similar issue happened again -- this time, $8 was added to my bill. I called the restaurant the following Tuesday. The same waitress who had processed my order answered the phone and told me there was nothing she could do because the manager wasn't in. I asked her to take down my contact information and receipt number and to pass the message along to the manager. She agreed, but added, "Fine, but I'm sure we're not at fault." This gave me the impression she might not follow through, so I told her that if I didn't hear back from the manager by Friday, I would dispute the charge with my credit card company. The manager called me on Wednesday, admitted the mistake, and offered to issue a refund -- but with an unusual condition: they wanted a photo of me receiving the $8. While this didn't seem like standard business practice and made me uncomfortable, I reluctantly agreed in order to resolve the issue. When I went in the following Tuesday to pick up a new takeout order and collect the refund, I was told I was no longer welcome at the restaurant. I was surprised but understand that any business has the right to refuse service. Whether this was an honest mistake or not, I'm sharing my experience so others can protect themselves. There's nothing wrong with the food -- in fact, it's some of the best sushi in Peoria. I wouldn't have been such a loyal customer otherwise. I still recommend trying Haru Sushi if you haven't already -- just be sure to double-check your credit card statement to ensure the total matches what you authorized. read more

I have been going to Haru for a few years now. It became a favorite and worth driving a bit farther for. However something changed recently. I'm not sure if it's ownership or what but the prices have soared! It seems like they trick you into ordering things. Because for the second time in a row my single person dinner has costed me $100! I went in yesterday and the chef had recommended me having uni since I have never tried before. I was fine with it but didn't expect 2 small pieces of uni would cost me $30. I also have been giving them saki shots for entertainment and appreciation but I don't know that's reciprocated. It was pretty rude when they came over and gave the guy next to me free piece of fish to try but ignored me. It was not courteous. After my bill was $106 I have decided Haru is no longer a restaurant I will be going to. The small neighborhood kind vibe is gone. read more

Went with a group of 6, called ahead to see if we can get in, they said come on down. Waited for 20 minutes plus, the guys who was running the front was the most unhelpful person. We asked about moving a table to accommodate the group of 6, with every suggestion he said no. He claimed he had to ask a manager, we watched him and he never asked anyone and came back and said no. He was very dismissive. We have been to Haro many times, we love the sushi. We brought out of town friends and they were very disappointed in how we were treated.
