What a horrible experience!! So i went there for lunch. The gal at the register was noticeably on drugs which made ordering a challenge we decided to take our food to go but stopped at the salsa bar and got a small tray of chips. Which i thought was included. Lol it wasn't! Most Mexican restaurants give you chips nonetheless i paid for chips but since i had gotten chips in my bags. The gal got really upset saying she had to see how many chips were in the bag. I told her its just a few and she made a big scene in was truly embarrassed. Even though i paid for a bag of chips i told her to keep them. The other people were all staring. And several came to me and apologized for her behavior. I will never return. Since new owners have taken over this place has been declining. Prices are up and portions are down. This had been a family favorite for years. We would go and pick up large orders consistently with no issues. I was there recently and attended counter placed a 139.00 order. They bring it up and then flip a computer screen that begs for a tip. Funny how usually asking for a tip means you sat down and someone served you. Here they have the nerve to ask for a tip for just ringing up your food. No service involved just running up your food. TIP stands for To Insure Proper service. Here they beg for a tip before you even have your order and no service given. I asked the manager who rang me up to please ensure my order was correct and I will gladly tip , so I added 18.00 to my order. I was handed bags , I tipped so that I would not have to open the bags to see if everything was in there. Drive 45 minutes home and had 8 people waiting to eat. There were no chips and I had ordered the bag with salsa. The green chili beef quart for a huge price had ZERO MEAT IN IT. I tried calling at that time to let them know the order was incorrect and the phone rang off of the hook the next day I called and spoke with the same manager that rang me up and he told me he would have to check the cameras. Check the cameras? Would you be able to have seen inside the brown bags? Would I lie? How ridiculous, he was rude and then told me to call back after he checked the cameras. I insisted on getting at least the tip back and nothing was done. When I did call back he was again rude. New ownership will not be business long with rude service and lower quality food. This is not the same place (or owners?) it used to be. Food was expensive, bland and not authentic like I remember it used to be. Not in this part of town too often, but I remember we enjoyed stopping here for real Mexican food. We ordered a carne asada burrito and a pollo taco. My burrito had tiny Sysco type pieces of meat with canned beans and a tiny portion of guacamole with watery salsa. My wife's taco was bland cubed chicken, no lettuce no cheese, no taste. What a shock to take home and find out this was not the quality Mexican food we used to get. Tasted like gringo food.Cannot recommend this place. read more

One of my favorite taco Tuesday places in the valley. Great order counter taco joint that also has a patio and a bar. Prices are great but more importantly the staff is friendly and the street tacos are bomb! I love the fish and carne asada. And don't forget the free chips, salsa and taco extra toppings bar. The good news is they got my husband's order correct. The bad news is mine was completely wrong. I got a bean burrito enchilada style with green sauce and they put red sauce. I called as soon as I got home was told "next time you come in you can have a free carne asada tostada that we forgot to give" no I want a refund...for the $9 . Also tried to explain the issue with your website he would not even listen. In the end I was promised a call back "when he looked into it" said he would call that night of course that never happened. A $60 to go order and that's how you are treated at this point I feel like we should get a refund for the food we did not get..the wrong food given due to your website (yes I went back in and recreated the order it is a issue with your website) and the tip, I know that won't happen so instead will not return and leave a review. A few years ago I was out shopping in the Arrowhead area and I stopped in for a quick bite, I have since been driving out of my way for years to enjoy this delicious Mexican food. Been coming here for years and the food is consistently great and good quality. They have the best fresh flour tortillas, carne asada and beans on this side of town. Salsa bar has a big variety and worth dining in if you have time. Nice patio, but is close to a very busy main road. Sometimes the wait is long, but it truly is worth it. My family are regulars we have always been treated with kindness. Today I was in the drive and what I witnessed was absolutely unacceptable. I just want to say your workers are amazing and deserve so much respect. Today a horrible lady from California screamed and berated one of your amazing staff members. She called the worker a slur and then after getting a reaction from the worker the lady proceeded to record or take pictures of your workers. Then she just sat at the window. On mornings I don't feel quite right (which is more the older I get) I head here for the Huevos Rancheros. I think it's the combination of fried potatoes, beans, eggs, Ranchero sauce and tortillas. It's solid and tasty. Their Ranchero sauce is the best anywhere. Tomatoes, onions, green pepper and Jalapeno is perfect. The service is always friendly and quick. A herd (14 guys) of Aps workers hit them all at once yesterday and they all had their food within 5 minutes. The ambiance is comfortable but sparce.
