I placed a phone order for a REGULAR al pastor burrito earlier. The amount of meat was miniscule compared to the beans and rice BTW. When I got there they gal read the tag that had my phone order for a REGULAR burrito. I was charged $17 but with tax it was over $18. I called later in the day and the lady on the phone said the regular is 12.99. Im lactose intolerant so I don't do dairy which the super has. Anyways I find this business practice repulsive and will not be returning. I hope this review gets views and reconsider patronizing at this establishment. Huge thumbs down. They don't seem to value customers. I called them after finding out they did me dirty overcharging me. The employee told me the owner/management was out of town. I reached out to them on instagram in attempt to inform ownership/management of what is happening. The person responding on instagram told me they are out of town. I never got a follow up from them. Honestly for years we ignored this place due to its generic and boring name. But after getting too much sub par Mexican in WC and Concord (surprisingly) we gave it a try. Honestly it was just as good or better than many of the Mexican spots on concord. The wet burritos were big, juicy, flavorful. Nice that it comes with sour cream and guac on the side. What a pleasant surprise in the heart of Walnut Creek! This place is easy to find on a corner with plenty of parking. The tacos were huge and they didn't skimp out on the meat as you can see! Stopped by for Taco Sunday. This is our local go-to taqueria in our area. Food is always good and today was more of the same. We had the Burris tacos, 49ers wet burrito, and the chili verde plate for me. The self serve chip and salsa bar is always fully stocked with clean. My pork chile verde was full of flavor. This place was just alright. +1 star for having a pink habanero salsa! It is their spiciest salsa option and it's pretty good. If you're not accustomed to spice, don't try it. If you are, it's quite pleasant but not as spicy as a Hot Boys Sando in Med+. I tried their super nachos with carnitas. The carnitas were good! But the container could have been fuller. I still rather go to El Molino in Concord. I also tried their Super Burrito with carne asada. It was alright, but the carne was a little too salty for my liking. Tacos Walnut Creek. This was my first visit, and I wasn't blown away. The tortilla chips were excellent; the "extra hot" habanera salsa lived up to its name, and it was really good. It was pink in color, which I don't recall seeing often. The sign outside promised "authentic" Mexican food, but items with names like "49ers Burrito" had me feeling pretty skeptical about that claim. I ordered the "Tri-Color Burrito", which was on special (see photo). I got it with carnitas. My wife ordered a one-taco plate with a carne asada taco. I thought the food was ok. There was nothing wrong with it, but it didn't measure up to my usual spots. The service was good. One thing that probably took away from our enjoyment was that they had no air conditioning on, and it was a hot evening (at least in the high 80s). Went here before the lunch rush on a weekday - it wasn't super busy, we got our food pretty quickly. They have a self serve chips area, which I liked. The bar was pretty clean and well prepared with everything you would need for condiments and utensils. I was honestly a little disappointed in the food. I got 3 lengua street tacos and a horchata. Horchata was alright, but the lengua was not flavorful at all. Even with the salsa, nothing really helped. The tortilla was just super soggy/oily on the bottom as well, so it was not enjoyable for me as I hoped it would be. Definitely had better tacos at other establishments; I don't think I would come here again unless I was out with my coworkers, who seem to enjoy this place more than I do! This is a fun taqueria. They have many proteins to choose from. We had two fish tacos al a carte and a tostado plate. The Al Pastor (marinated pork) was a little over cooked for our taste. The overall presentation was great and I would order It again when they were busier. The flat tostada was nicely fried. The tostada came with a plastic fork which made eating a flat crispy tostada a tad hard. The fish soft tacos were excellent. Plenty of fish and nice ingredients. Today they had a cucumber horchata, which was quite good. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is an order at the counter and they bring you the food. The restaurant had a nice south of the border feel. The restaurant was clean and had brightly colored banners to break the monotony of a strip mall restaurant. I have never tried Carne de Jugo before even if I've been eating Mexican food since I was a child. (Even lived in Mexico for a small time!) It is life-changing from this place. Highly recommend. Our first stop on our Saturday taco crawl we dropped into Tacos and almost everything about the experience was substandard. The tacos consisted of tiny cheap tortillas with predominantly unseasoned low quality meat. They were missing ingredients the menu noted were included, which created a very odd flavor profile (the Super Taco was missing sour cream and guacamole) but one did come with a sizable cilantro branch in it so there was that. I don't live in Walnut Creek, but I have a hard time believing this is the best Mexican in town. Excellent! We came here on a lunch outing from the KP hospital in town, right down the street from Target. I got a super burrito and my wife got an enchiladas combo. Free chips and salsa, clean tables, and reasonable prices make it a great place. Located on the corner of Locust Street and Giammona Drive in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek, Tacos Walnut Creek, Tacos Walnut Creek is locally owned and operated and represents some of the best fast casual Mexican food in the tony city of Walnut Creek. I have had my eye on Tacos Walnut Creek for quite some time, since I like to shop at both Broadway Plaza, which is on nearby Main Street just one block over, and the Target store, which has a vast underground parking structure that makes for shopping and dining in the area safe as long as you venture into said Target store. When a friend said that they had a pair of tickets at the nearby Lesher Center for the Arts and they asked where we could meet up in advance of the event for a quick and affordable bite to eat and the first place that came to mind was Tacos Walnut Creek. After seeing images of food posted by my fellow Yelpers as well as looking at the prices posted on their website, I suggested that we meet up at Tacos Walnut Creek for a quick bite before the show. After waiting outside for my friend during the evening, I noticed that although it was crowded, their crew managed to turn things around really fast as tables were full one minute and then empty the next. It's all fast casual ordering here at Tacos Walnut Creek with ordering at the counter with the menu posted behind the counter with their prices easily readable, and numerous laminated menus for customers to look closely at that had no prices listed on it. The menu at Tacos Walnut Creek is separated into categories including Platillos or Platters, Make Your Own Combination, Tacos, Burritos, Kid's Menu, Fajitas, Quesadillas, Salads, Tortas, their House Speciality, Mariscos or Seafood, Breakfast, Scrambles, Nachos, A La Carta which they also call Appetizers. Since we were in a rush, and we saw an empty table and wanted to take advantage of that, it was our turn to order and so we ordered pretty fast. I decided to order their 2 Item Combination from their Make Your Own Combination section of their menu, with my choice being an Enchilada with my selection of meat being carnitas, and their Crispy Taco with my selection of meat being beef. Others in my party ordered their 2 Item Combination with an Enchilada with Pastor and a Soft Taco with Beef and two Jalisco Style Pastor Tacos, served crispy style, which was filled with grilled onions, cilantro, pineapple and cilantro. It wouldn't take too long for our meal to be served as their team is fast and our entrées come with Spanish rice, refried beans topped with cheese, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. Like I said they have their operation down pat, which of course we all know means that many of the sides are pre-prepared and ready to be doled out at a moment's notice. But this cannot take away from my enchilada being hearty despite being smaller in size, which was no doubt in part due to the fact that it was topped with an abundance of enchilada sauce and shredded cheese. My crispy taco was a real nice addition to my meal as it provided that extra crunch that was so desperately needed. They give you a small paper tray for you to load up on complimentary crispy tortilla chips and extra amounts of pico de gallo, salsa roja and salsa verde, which allows you to not only use it for the chips but as an extra sauce for your meal only added to the overall flavor and texture of our entrée. Everyone else seemed to like their own dishes as their soft taco was smaller in size than I originally thought in my head what it would be like, so I was glad that I ordered the crispy version of this signature menu item. I am so glad that we came to Tacos Walnut Creek, as we were out of there within half an hour, and our total bill for three diners came no higher than 38 dollars before gratuity was added in. I can't wait to come back to Tacos Walnut Creek and sample their Super Burritos, Quesadillas, and of course their hearty House Speciality which was a beef broth based soup served with beans, fresh veggies and tortillas. Great spot at the corner of Locust in Walnut Creek. Order first then sit. They have enough seats to accommodate customers who come and go. The food comes out fairly fast so the tables clear quickly. Loved the pastor tacos Jalisco style! The fish taco was also pretty good. Carnitas crispy taco was decent. We ordered the guava margaritas. I enjoyed the tamarindo/tajin rim. The drink was delicious! Luckily, I went out on a limb and prayed for the best after seeing a flick of Tacos Walnut Creek's breakfast burrito with potatoes and getting a boost of confidence in what was possible. Met up with a friend here for lunch, and they were surprisingly pretty quiet inside. The interior is spacious, with quite a few indoor seating available. There is also a parklet setup outside if outdoor seating is more your thing. Opted for tacos due to the store's namesake, and they definitely did not disappoint. Only ordered two tacos since it was suppose to be a quick lunch, but was most certainly hungry for more after wolfing them both down.
