I can't remember if I knew that Walnut Creek had a 5 Tacos and Beers or not. I typically go straight to Limon, but happened to see it recently. We stopped by to try and see how it compares to the Albany location. Service and Staff: - Service was a little slow as there were a few parties of 6 or so people around us Food and Drinks: - Margarita: delicious and refreshing - "Bloody Mary": this is in quotes because we ordered a Bloody Mary, which thy didn't have. They said they had something very similar that wasn't spicy. The drink wasn't similar at all and was very spicy. It would have been better for them to recommend another drink entirely instead. Miscellaneous: - Indoor and outdoor seating available - Good for small and large groups - Low tables and high tables available - Happy hour Monday - Friday from 3-6pm and all day on Tuesdays - Parking is available via street parking and local parking garages Will come back again to see how the food compares.

5 Tacos and Beers is a great spot. It's not "hole-in-the-wall" style, which made me think I might not enjoy it as much as a more "down home" taco place. However, I really did! Everything we ordered was prepared excellently, with fresh ingredients and popping flavors. They brought out an extra hot salsa at my request. The ambience is casual yet very nice. The presentation of the food was appealing. I would recommend the quesabirria. The service was very good. (The staff is generally knowledgeable if you have celiac or a gluten allergy. Most of the menu is gluten free). I shall return. I haven't tried the beers yet...

Met up with friend at this place. Able to be at outside pretty quickly. Ordered chips with salsa and guacamole, then 2 tacos. Food was overall good, enjoyed the quesabirrias the best. Service could be a bit better. The servers were knowledgable of the food items and provided good recommendations.

Ok, so this really used to be one of my favorite spots to get tacos but now... not so much. One thing I've always disliked about this chain is that they change the menu monthly. They would make these short rib tacos and they were sooooo DELICIOUS . But I'd have to check the menu every month to confirm, whenever I remembered. Now here's the bigger part that is making me not care to come here anymore and that's the portion size. Like every customers' gripe when they regularly patron a restaurant, it SEEMS like the portions have gotten smaller. That may not be true but that's how it feels. (See comparison pics). Lastly, for those who it matters to, they have a changing table in the women's restroom. Which is very convenient

We've been coming to this place for a while, and it has been great every single time. Walnut Creek is known for its high prices, but this place provides a great combo of price, quality, and service. It's definitely a great value. Their guacamole, chips, and salsa are incredible. We always order tacos, and they are in the 6-to-7 dollar range. Honestly, we've tried every taco on the menu, and all of them were great. The short rib tacos, in particular, were amazing. The place is cool for an adult gathering but is also kid-friendly. The kids' quesadilla with rice and beans was reasonably priced at 8 dollars. The place offers a wide range of beers and has a great IPA selection. The Don Lito house tequila is 8 dollars and is of good quality. We will definitely be coming back for the vibe, quality, service, and deliciousness of their tacos.

Parking downtown can be a challenge but I parked a few blocks away in a free parking structure. I met up with a friend on a cold chilly night so we started with a tortilla chicken soup and it was a Tuesday evening so I ordered a few tacos. You get a happy hour pricing on taco Tuesday. I ordered fish tacos, beef and marinated pork. The tacos were small and not much fillings. The tacos were good but not excellent. I would go back to try the birria tacos.

One of the place I can't believe I haven't reviewed. We have been coming here for years. So I use to drink alot of beer but these days more tequila and red wine. That being said I usually will get a porter or stout here, why?, because they have them. So many place don't unless its the dead of winter. Today we had a shrimp taco, rock cod taco and the chicken Quesabirra. All great. The fish wasn't battered and fried so that was good. We have also had ceviche on the past and a variety of other dishes. The tequila selection has 6 of my favorites and not a single bottle of 818 in sight. There are a couple reds in the wine catagory I have had. So not a place we are found to specifically drive to but when in town looking for something familiar yet different we can pop in here

Decent taco spot -- Wish the tacos were served with raw onions vs sautéed onions. Carne asada tacos was the best. The pulpo taco was just ok and lacked flavor. By the time I got to the chicharon taco I was already full. Salsas were very good and definitely could've been served in a bowl rather than the small tin sauce cups. Service was good. Friendly waiter.

5 tacos is right on Main Street and the place seems clean. The service is friendly and fast. We went for lunch and got the 5 taco platter and guacamole. The guacamole was delicious and the chips were good. The tacos were just ok. The fish was fishy and smelly. The steak was a bit dry. The pork was the best of the bunch. The taco shells were weird and chewy. Overall, it's ok. I'm rounding up to 4 stars because of the good service.

I joined my friends for dinner at 5 Tacos and Beers, a lively, casual modern Mexican restaurant. The place was packed, but we managed to grab a table outside. I ordered the Taco de Pescado--rock code marinated and breaded, topped with salsa cruda pico, with a side of black beans and a refreshing Sangria Roja made with house red wine, berry syrup, vodka, peach liqueur, lime and fresh fruit. The taco was delicious, and next time, I want to try the grilled shrimp and grilled octopus tacos.

This place has excellent tacos and margaritas. The taco menu changes with the seasons. Their drinks are made with fresh seasonal ingredients and the waitstaff is friendly and pretty attentive. Great place for a bite before a movie.

Im pleased to hear they do look into these things and try to make things whole. I've been to this restaurant a dozen times since working in alamo in the past. Last time I'm coming here. I placed a phone order for a REGULAR al pastor burrito earlier. The amount of meat was miniscule compared to the beans and rice BTW. When I got there they gal read the tag that had my phone order for a REGULAR burrito. I was charged $17 but with tax it was over $18. I called later in the day and the lady on the phone said the regular is 12.99. Im lactose intolerant so I don't do dairy which the super has. Anyways I find this business practice repulsive and will not be returning. I hope this review gets views and reconsider patronizing at this establishment. Huge thumbs down. They don't seem to value customers. I called them after finding out they did me dirty overcharging me. The employee told me the owner/management was out of town. I reached out to them on instagram in attempt to inform ownership/management of what is happening. The person responding on instagram told me they are out of town. I never got a follow up from them. Who knows if they actually investigated what happened because I didn't get a follow up. I could care less about the extra few dollars they took. If they have an employee intentionally overcharging then they need to correct it. It's simple as that. All the info is in the photo I included in the review if they choose to investigate.

We started with the chips and salsa, and they were a great way to kick things off. The chips tasted fresh and were perfectly crispy. Both the red and green salsas had really good flavor without being overly spicy. We also ordered spicy margaritas, and the bartender definitely knew what they were doing. The drinks were well-balanced with just the right amount of heat. For our entrees, we ordered the burrito, carne plate, enchiladas, and the bee salad. The standout was definitely the carne--it was incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. It was cooked perfectly. The burrito was absolutely massive and packed with flavor, while the enchiladas tasted homemade and were comforting and delicious. Everyone at the table left happy. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food, excellent drinks, and attentive service despite how busy they were. We'll definitely be back--especially because their brunch menu is next on our list!
