The fish tacos is a 5/5. But the guacamole could've been better. The atmosphere is amazing it's lively bright and spacious. Service is great amazing staff. After a few hours of walking around the mall, visiting some stores, and doing the shopping we needed, we were both very hungry. As I entered, I eyed Cholita Linda, and since we had already eaten at the place near us, I knew what we wanted and would enjoy for our late lunch or early dinner... a Cubano! For those who might not know, a traditional Cubano sandwich is made with Cuban bread (a white bread loaf with a thin, crispy crust and a soft, airy inside. Usually, a moist palmetto leaf is placed on top of the dough before baking to create its signature split), Mojo-marinated roasted pork (slow-roasted in a marinade made of sour orange juice, garlic, oregano, and cumin), glazed ham (sweet, deli-style sliced ham), Swiss cheese, dill pickles, and yellow mustard. Of course, here in the US, the recipe is adjusted based on the location and available ingredients, but the core stays the same, which makes for a delicious sandwich. Cholita Linda's Cubano is made with pulled pork shoulder, black forest ham, mustard, pickles, aioli, and Swiss cheese on grilled French bread. Trust me when I tell you that it is a delicious version! Anyway, this location is very well managed and maintained. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and nicely kept. They have tables inside and outside the mall. Cubano Sandwich - This is among the best cubanos that I've ever had. Melted cheese with mustard and pork. I can still think about the taste right now. Very helpful staff. You order at the front and when the food is ready it, you pick it up. In our case, they helped carry some to the table. She wanted guacamole with chips. Oh my! This is a fast-casual winner in Broadway Plaza. My favorite are the Baja fish tacos, and the tofu tacos are excellent also. I've not tried the meats, but my kids say they are delicious. My vegetarian husband raves about the Papito Tofu. I would love an option other than pico de gallo for Chips & Salsa, but at least the pico is fresh and flavorful. The service and environment is good for mall dining - fast, friendly and clean. Cholita Linda is our go to spot whenever we have something to do in Walnut Creek. We appreciate that parking is free for 3 hours. :) you really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. I love their fish tacos but if I'm feeling like a plate then don't ask me which one is best cuz I can't choose. Picadillo, fish or chicken plates are all pretty epic. They don't skimp on the side salad or rice and beans. We never leave feeling hungry or wanting a snack when we get home. Oh my gosh the plantains are so delicious. We always order a side of plantains. I'm told all the agua frescas are delicious but I have only tried the mango. Okay so that's the food but what's up with the people who work there? It's like they had to do their training at trader Joe's. They are all super friendly and seems like they are genuinely happy to see us whenever we go in. Such great service seems hard to come by since the pandemic. The restaurant is also very well kept. I love how colorful the decor is and how clean they keep everything. The music's always great also. They were outstanding and she was able to get her favorite dish of black beans, rice and guacamole. Complete proteins, outstanding flavor and the staff were beyond fantastic. I also like the fact that it was relatively quiet and that meant we could have a decent conversation. Our meal was so good. We wound up taking a plate home from my son-in-law who also adores this place so I cannot recommend it highly enough. I was excited to try this place because the menu looked liked puerto rican food. I ordered a mango and strawberry agua fresca, plantains, and coconut pudding. It was a busy time and the inside tables were full. I was given one of those things that vibrates when your food is ready. After about 45 minutes I was thinking this is taking long just for drinks. My husband went to check on the order and they said they forgot the order. Then they said they were calling a different number which doesn't make sense. My button thing never vibrated. Then they couldn't remember what we ordered. It was frustrating after the long wait. They gave us chips and salsa on the house because of the mistake. some guac or a dessert would have been nice instead of the chips. The agua frescas were a little too sweet, but the coconut pudding was creamy, smooth and heavenly. When I ordered i asked if the plantains were crispy or soft. I was told crispy. We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant in Walnut Creek and we're so glad we stumbled upon this place! They serve different types of South American cuisine. We ordered the Papito sandwich, Pescado Frito plate, Picadillo plate, and chips + guac. If you're a fan of sweet/savory dishes I really recommend the papito sandwich! The plantains & caramelized onions were slightly sweet and paired really well with the savory steak. The fish was fried really well and the pickled onions on top were a great touch! The picadillo was full of flavor and tasted really delicious over rice. I've been to Cholita Linda in the Ferry Building, and I am so glad they crossed the Bay and are now in Walnut Creek! When I was meeting up with some friends, I suggested dinner at Cholita Linda - and was not met with any resistance. We visited on a Friday evening, and the restaurant was not crowded at all. Even though we were a large group, we were able to get a table and order our food in under ten minutes. I ordered the same tacos that I tried the last time that I visited the Ferry Building location - the Baja fish taco and carnitas taco. Both arrived piled high with fish/carnitas, cabbage, and a drizzle of their delicious and tangy crema sauce. The tacos were just as tasty (and messy) as I remembered. read more

My friend and I were talking about coming here for a while and finally had the chance to last night. It was NOT good. Service and the food were horrible from the cashier to the rest of the staff. They were incompetent. I mean how many times have you made the 1 salad you offer? I received my salad with no black beans. The chicken was gross and definitely not a chicken breast like the guy at the register said it was. The chips and salsa were less than desirable. I mean you could make your salsa a little more exciting than pico de gallo. The chips basket was 1/2 full so said something about paying $8 for 1/2 a basket of chips with pico is rather nuts and no refills. She made some excuses that didn't make sense and then turned to explain the situation in Spanish to her coworkers. After she finished they both just looked at me. I left and went to the main counter and asked for a manager and was told there was no manager. When I inquired they said that there was a shift manager but she didn't speak english. There was no manager info even. Just call back to the store on a weekday between 10 and 4. When I did call, it says no one is available to help you. Contacted via instagram. No response. Happy to report that the Baja Fish tacos are just as good at this new location. I also love their fried plantains and aguas frescas. You order at the counter and get a buzzer to wait for your order. We ordered the asado and cubano sandwiches, yucca fries, plantain, mango agua Fresca and srawberry lemonade agua Fresca. The drinks were so good and they used real fruit - would come back just for the mango one. We were also excited that they allowed us to mix and match.
