Having embarked on this recent plant based diet (I'll spare you the pamphlets of why you should) I needed a legitimate alternative to our weekly rotation of dine out spots that didn't cater to a robust plant based menu. Even before switching diets I always thought Tacotarian did an amazing job of convincing me that there are really tasteful meat alternatives. (This comes from a steak snob that ate red meat about 3x a week) This place covers all the fixes I would want from a traditional taco shop. Favorites are the carne asada fries and tacos. Tastes better than the real thing. Always clean and consistently good service. I would highly recommend trying the crunch wrap if you havent. I noticed the staff at the Henderson location is not very accommodating or courteous. The Vibes are different here than other locations. I wish they were more friendly and welcoming at this location. My husband & I were in town for the weekend and were looking for some vegan food downtown. So I jumped on YELP and searched Vegan Food. Saw Tacotarian and said, "Let's try this place...it sounds amazing, reviews are great and the pics of the food look incredible!" We were not disappointed. From our first steps in to our very last bite, our experience was great. I cannot say enough positive things about how delicious, flavorful, appealing and fresh the food is, how friendly the crew is, and how clean everything is. (Weird thing to say, right? But these days, some places aren't so clean...) Also, no "Belly Bomb" feelings afterwards. Which is a great feeling to have after eating my fave food group of all time! ;p The next day, I was making plans with our friend who lives in Henderson, and I said, "Have you been to Tacotarian we went last night to their downtown location and we LOVED everything about it?" and he said, "My friend is the co owner!!! I LOVE Tacotarian!" Let's definitely meet up there for lunch! :) So, our lunch date was set to catch up with our friend at the Henderson Location of Tacotarian. We were happy we got to order their BLT Sandwich that is only available on Saturdays and Sundays...OMG...SO GOOD! We had the Taco Platter, amazing. The Dorado Tacos as well, which are deep fried taco shell, mashed potato, cheddar, lettuce, pico, crema. The guacamole, is insanely delicious! As well as the salsa. First visit, I had the Bean and Cheese Burrito and it was incredible. How do you make something so simple as a Bean & Cheese burrito taste incredible? I do not know, but Tacotarian has figured it out! :) Both locations I would give 20 stars to if there was such a high rating. Also, at the Henderson location, there is a bigger area for outdoor seating if you like to sit outdoors and we got lucky as there was a musician playing guitar and singing which was an additional bonus to a great vibe Tacotarian already has. And parking at the Henderson location was a bit easier than the downtown location, but to be fair, we were downtown on a friday night at 8pm...so that must have been why parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was worth the few minutes we spent looking for a spot to park. We are heading home today, and we are going to go by there for some lunch before we head back home! :) See you again and we will be telling everyone we know who is coming to Vegas to give your place a try!!! :) You do not have to be Vegan to enjoy the deliciousness of their food! And we just read they will be opening a location in San Diego, which is only an hour drive for us and we will DEFINITELY make the drive! It's THAT GOOD! :) YAY! When I visited Tacotarian in July 2022, I wasn't aware that it was a plant-based restaurant. I ordered the Birria Plater and absolutely loved it. Fantastic vegan place but can be appreciated by all kinds of eaters! I loved the barbacoa tacos best but everything I got was delicious. Love that the give you the option of having street corn on the cob or shaved bc I prefer to eat it shaved - much less messy! There's a cute courtyard you can eat in too. Interesting take on tacos! They use various meat proteins. I ordered three different tacos (Asada, chorizo and plantain and mole) the plantain and mole was to die for! They were all fantastic! Sometimes when you go somewhere you just want to Taco-Bout it... Okay, thats enough with the ridiculous intro... But seriously get ready for the meat and potatoes of this review, well... At least the potatoes. Tacotarian was recommended to my wife by a friend because my wife has been leaning more towards a meatless meal plan and so we had just finished the River Mountain Loop bike ride and decided to go hit this new Tacotarian location. We came in ordering like a recking ball. We ordered, three different tacos, the asada fries and a Flauta plate with all of the sauce options. I am going to make this super simple with one word... WOW.. The tacos were all amazing, from the barbacoa, al pastor and the gabacho the flavors and textures awesome and to be honest if you had not told me these were vegan friendly tacos I would never have known. That speaks volumes from this carnivore. The fries were excellent but the real stars in my eyes were the Flautas and the sauces. The flautas had amazing crunch and the potato chorizo combo inside was perfect and then the Habanero sauce mixed with the smokiness of the chipotle sauce made for a perfect dipping sauce. Lets not leave out one of the most overlooked parts of any mexican food review, the beans and rice... Think about it, when you go out to eat mexican food I feel like a great judge of the food itself is how many of the plates at the table are left with beans and rice on the plate with only one spoon or fork full taken from each. Not here, the beans and rice were also excellent. Vegan, not vegan, it does not matter, go eat tacotarian and then lets tacobout it. Per one of my student's recommendations, I tried the carne asada fries. I loved them! Fresh, crunchy, delicious, and full of flavor. It's the best thing I've tried from Tacotarian by far and I would recommend them to anyone wanting some loaded fries. I came in here with my family and ordered some tacos and asked if the guacamole has tomatoes in it, because I am allergic to raw tomato. I was told that it does. The girl at the register said they could just put some chopped avocado on the side and I said that would be great. Then I look at the register and she's charging $2 for the avocado. Now let's be clear: the tacos are supposed to come with avocado, in the form of guacamole, but because I'm allergic to one of the ingredients they're going to give me the exact same ingredient that already comes on the taco and charge me $2 extra... (which is as much as the taco itself costs). This is absolutely idiotic, and discriminatory to people with food allergies. Why would you charge me as much for putting an ingredient that already comes on the taco on the side as the taco itself? read more
